When I was in highschool in the 90s I discovered classical music, particularly Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Handel & Mozart. My mum was very supportive and we went to a few concerts in Melbourne (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). Through this experience I discovered composers music whom I never really paid proper attention to being Wagner and Raspeghi. If I had not have been there in that auditorium I never would've felt those vibes trickle and tingle the hairs on my spine and ears! They were some the best live music experiences I've ever had.❤
That's why after many years of playing the piano I finally started to learn the cello some years ago. And now I always get the best place in the performances of my orchestra (on the stage right in front of the double basses). It's still a school orchestra but it's not a bad one - and once a year we even play together with the professional symphonic orchestra of our region.
I'm so glad i found you
I enjoy my life so much more since I have moved. I have 4 Operas ans 5 Symphony Orchestras within 1,5h driving distance. Im going into concert at least one time a week...
It's even more amazing once you learn to differentiate the many timbres among the orchestra. My city has some public concerts few times per month and I never lose the opportunity to go there
What city is it?

I almost always pick up good energetic vibes at a good live classical concert (esp. the ending of Beethoven's 7th Symphony 😉). And in each concert I almost always pick up nuances in how particular instruments work musical phrases that I never caught earlier.
Yes, one of the symphony concerts I went to had Beethoven's 7th! A raptouus ending to an amazing opus! Rach's 2nd Piano Concerto & Wagner's Lohengrin Prelude where on the same bill! Big bold Romantic music!
I hope that the amateur orchestras I play in can pass the school orchestra test.
Oh the irony of using scenes from Clockwork Orange while listening to Beethoven's 9th of being caged in your seat LOL
As for the School Orchestra, we have a very good school of music at The University of South Carolina. They have a top notch graduate program and play several concerts a year at very reasonable prices.
Can you make a video for a casual who has only got into classical music.. tips and tricks for a first concert going experience
I hope one day I can watch the live orchestral performance.
You have never been?
