people need to realise how blessed we are to have this man around in the soundsystem culture. Not only for his musical attributions but also for his ability to clearly explain and philosophise over the history, present, and future of this music we love. Aba Shanti the king!

I'm slightly sad that Aba doesn't give more credit to the Shaka Soundsystem. Through the late 80s and beyond it was Shaka's influence, the way he played, that inspired the other Roots Warrior soundsystems. Shaka, through Culture Promotions, also made roots music accessable to a different younger white audience who had learned how to dance to house music, but were looking for a different beat. Steppers roots music filled that desire.
It's not about worshipping Shaka, saying he's the best etc, but his influence on the roots scene in the UK cannot be downplayed.
Great to hear Joseph talk. The Soundsystems I've been involved with have played alongside Aba Shanti 6 times.

@@sankofaashanti2572 my respect for Aba has grown a lot over the years, Aba Shanti has matured in a great way. He holds the faith now. I love Shaka still. The originator of that style.
