i’ve been to both harrison and zinc. I’m only an hour away from there right now. After that main video came out, a group of younger people in harrison put money together to rent a billboard in the middle of the town that said black lives matter. Glad you’re pointing out that there’s all kinds of people even in a mostly racist place.
I never thought about that but that's totally true, these sorts of videos probably do a lot to empower people to actually share anti racist views more openly in those tiny red towns.
I'm about 30 minutes away from Harrison, on the Missouri side. It's pretty wild that this area has gotten so much attention. I'm glad tho, things seem to change with the correct lense shining on it.
Did you see the video Jidion made. It goes to show you can't always believe what the media says about certain places without actually going there and seeing what it's about. Jidion took on the views of both white and minority people in that town. And actually took the time to have a conversation with somebody with outrageous views. Something that people like Hasan always try to distance themselves from by sitting behind a screen and just talking about their opinions while gentrifying places of diversity.
@@MrBacon-ou1kw did this guy look like he wanted publicity? People do interviews for all kinds of reason. If you think some aren't paid for that's incredibly naive.
It is scary, but probably just that for Richard. I bet the most he has to worry about, which still sucks mega ding dong, is a lit cross on his lawn for betraying "his people" or something along those lines.
Watching this guy troll a dude like that is so stressful?? It's a good thing he's British because they're less likely to go after him bc its international but jeeze it's stressful!!!
Bro it's a town of 90 ppl. Those kkk dude's are broke idiots. The only power they have is putting up a sign on the side of the road and having bad opinions.
I still love the "he should have had a productive conversation with him". Sure, yeah, let's have a productive conversation with the CEO of racism. There's definitely some common ground to be found there.
We don't listen people to change our minds, it's fucking rare. At least I don't. I listen people because I want to learn where they're coming from so we can create a solution for those factors. We don't pull out a gun and yell "change now motherfucker" to any problem. We just try to observe variables and try to change them accordingly for long term solutions. Simple as that. Nothing changed in the world because he did this interview. The guy still is a very much racist and we still don't know what the fuck is going on in his mind. He got some LOLs and XDs out of it and that's it. What a fucking waste of time.

Hasan talking about everyone in red states who are stuck in red states and have no control of their situation. His empathy is huge and very heart warming
@Not Even Facebook Can Stop Me Lmao I think you’re interested in Hasan to be honest. I mean creeping around in his comment sections trying to start shit seems a little unhealthy in my opinion. But whatever you want to do to get your racist rocks off, at least I’m not wasting away behind a keyboard.
@Not Even Facebook Can Stop Me Lmao you are definitely 14 years old. What do you get out of trolling? Im genuinely curious because i can think of a million other things that are more worthwhile
As someone who lives in Oklahoma (very red state), I stumbled into Hasan’s content over the course of 2020 and really liked what he had to offer. He made me way more progressive then I was. For him to say that some of his favorite viewers are in red states really made me feel welcome.

@Tikitakared did you happen to see anyone or himself being concerned about his safety after appearing in that video? That was a concern I held after seeing it, that Richard is now there and if the KKK see the video, they could target him easily... I am still glad he did it and glad that he got the support he needed for surgery.
I feel like Harrison or Zinc for that matter aren’t the “most racist town” in America just like there isn’t a “poorest town” in America. The problem is too wide and systemic for it to be localized in one area.
There are definitely some very poor towns. Parts of Michigan, New Jersey, Appalachia, Mississippi, etc, all over. Obviously it's impossible to determine the "poorest" because there's no way to really gauge that, but even if you could that doesn't mean it's localized to one area and there aren't also other poor towns. There are also some towns with more racist people than others, but again there's no way to truly determine the most racist.
we've had cops sit in front of a house we used live in. they'd sit in front of the house for days just watching us. before this happened, my stepdad got pulled over in our driveway after coming home from taco bell of all places and was accused of having a gun in the car. another time my sister got stopped in front of our house because they suspected she had drugs and a hookah in her car but she didn't. this shit is real and it's so sad that people just can't be allowed to drive even if it's as simple as going home.
What drugs are you on to be so paranoid to think cops just sit outside your house and they care so much about you to spend time and recourses on your house
I passed by this guy's house on accident delivering furniture to his neighbor. His neighbor told me all about how much he hated him and how he was a racist pos. Also told me about some times he almost shot him for ridiculous property/neighbor disputes. The guy who was supposed to ride with me that day was a black guy that grew up in Harrison. Ex pro Canadian 🏈 player that was the toughest, hardest worker in there, along with me. He refused to ride with me that day because of going to Harrison. He told me about a few instances of racism when they naturally came up, but I never asked directly. I'm sure they haven't stopped considering he lives in Springfield missouri. Everywhere has shit people. Everywhere has good people. Some live right next door to each other.
springfield residence here. the racists here hide as “confederates” and like harrison, they don’t reside in springfield but in the other small towns near by. springfield is one of the only blue cities in the state
The racists in Springfield don't hide as confederates tho. I've seen it from mostly upper class or wealthy people in Springfield. Not country bumpkins. I definitely disagree with that as a springfield resident of 15+ years
I live in SW PA. We have an extremely “racist town” like we would put this place to shame. It’s actually really sad. I remember for Juneteenth two years ago the put up African American heritage signs on the court house steps and stood in solidarity for BLM (just a couple local teens) and about 50-70 locals showed up with assault rifles and started throwing stuff at the kids who were just standing there doing nothing. They were jumping people walking back to their cars completely unprovoked and the cops stood by and did absolutely nothing. It’s pretty common here. People are not afraid to openly use slurs to anyone. Like your local mechanic will commonly talk about too many “n-words” moving in and polluting the area and expect you to agree and if you don’t they will sabotage your vehicle or refuse you service/triple charge you etc. even when we have polls for votes people stand outside with rifles and threaten dems. During the 2016 election tons of people had their tires slashed. It’s just freaking ridiculous. For the longest time I genuinely thought this was completely normal and just happened in every small town until someone told me it doesn’t and I was shocked. one year I went to vote and they were walking down the line and asking who you were voting for and i said I didn’t feel comfortable saying and when I went to got through the door to vote a big dude with a gun stood in the door and told me to leave. It happened to several of my friends too.
That is fucking insane! Imagine going around to people in booths with guns and making sure they vote for the right people. Fuck the police especially tho. They are the ones that let this shit happen. Worst KKK members are part of the force.
The nuance JiDion missed was what happens where he _CANT_ see the racism. Place i used to work everyone upfront to black customers was very friendly and helpful, the way they openly treated them in the store was not really any different than how they treated white customers. But many times when the black customer left the talk of "they are good people for being one of them" got tossed around. Or my manager would run and check the cameras to make sure they did not steal (10+ years working there btw and never had a black person steal from us, it was always white customers). And general other racist topics and talk would fly around. But the black people they _liked_ were always seen as an exception to the rule. So that in their minds black people were still "bad people" and the good ones did not really count. This is what JiDion seemed to not understand. That just because they are nice to you to your face, does not mean they would not work to undermine your very existence when given the chance.
How do you know Jidion didn't see the racism? The KKK member he talked to towards the end was clear with his racism, I'm sure with him just being in the KKK, the racism is clear to everyone.
@@Hobyosultana *How do you know Jidion didn't see the racism?* You know you could have just like, read what i wrote right? Im talking about the passive racism, the stuff he cant see because he is not there and not part of the conversation. This is why it was frustrating to many that JiDion seems to act like unless they are being racist to his face, there is not racism there. Some of the biggest racist i know are STILL very nice to black people's faces. And you dont have to be in the KKK or mean to black people's faces to be a horrible racist. Saying something like "well she is qualified for the job, but she is black so im not going to hire her" _IS_ racism and can be just as bad an act if not worse than some Jethro burning a cross in his field.
@@__Andrew bro what did jidion say that gave you that impression? He IS BLACK! Like we obviously understand different forms of racism whether they passive or not. How we react to it is on us but to say we don't have that understanding is what's crazy to me. All jidion says is that its not as racist as its perpetuated and that's true. I've seen it from my personal experience with that town, saw it in nikos experience, and jidions. If we all are black and ended up comin up with the same resolution than that should be telling enough for what the video was tryna prove. Jidion doesn't say that there's no racist in the town did he? What specifically did he say to make you feel like he doesn't understand passive racism? I mean he literally spoke with an outspoken racist but that's still not what that town is and how it's perpetuated. As a mixed person I've seen plenty of passive racism and it exists EVERYWHERE. Black people do it to white people too but alot of white people dont ever have to acknowledge or even hear it as they dont have to be around us much since we are in a white majority society in america. Being black we know that and have experienced it in our everyday lives so when we visit a place like Harrison where it's perpetuated as the worst of the worst and kkk members are gonna lynch on sight but when you visit its actually like any other white majority place you've been as a black person it shows. As it did with all of our experience. Honestly just shows the ignorance tho which is understandable cause majority white people aren't forced to experience other minorities culture. That'd be a good show tho. Get white kids and put them in ANY hood for a week! 🤣🤣 Just puttin them in any other place where the minorities are the majority and it'd be a pretty crazy culture shock honestly.
@@__Andrew basically I'm sayin it wasn't a "missed nuanced" at all as jidion knows passive racism exists. It's just that's an important point to make about everywhere in America and not just Harrison. You just missed the point of the vid just like hasnabi is all. Niko is just better with how he portrayed and explained his point and that's why yall agree with it rather than jidions. But point is the same in all the vids. Harrisons not as bad as it's perpetuated and that should be clear now. Doesn't rid it of all the bad but then again no one ever said that. Well....except you and Hasan when jidions first vid went over yalls heads 😂
That end made me tear up. As someone who struggles to get my high health needs taken care of, I know how much that help meant to him. He didn't need to do that but he did and it was touching.
People act like it's not a racist town but people don't blatantly go all out when face to face and on camera. Even in my hometown, no one would admit to their racism, but during a very small BLM rally, people shouted the n word, threw stuff, brought rifles and other guns, and massively counter protested in response to like twenty people holding signs. This was a small Midwest town and I'm sure there are plenty like it.
You hit the nail on the head. I live in a very small red town, surrounded by mostly blue areas. People are generally polite and would never admit to their racism. But then the BLM movement happened and Proud Boys were frothing at the mouth, literally lining up on 1st ave with guns and flags to intimidate a "rally" of 5 people.
I lived in the South for a while, and people would be less overtly racist and more commit racist microaggressions. I’m Asian and people would do things like ask “where are you really from” or they would bow and say konichiwa when they see me (I’m not Japanese).

Libs are just out of touch. Like, do they not remember TONS of PoCs live in red states too, the f***ing point about how they're subjected to racism? Come on, libs. I'm pretty sure Niko has a pretty good understanding of the KKK. But acting less aware and somewhat ignorant about it helped him get by, feel me? He even mentions that his biggest card up his sleeve is his accent and saying he's from the BBC, he's very self aware.

I feel like this is a much better way to present the KKK and the seperationist, rather than say to his face you wouldn't call him a racist, and spend the time making him seem polite, and reasonable. Even if this wasn't a prank, just including that historical context and more recent news articles helps a lot.
It's about actaully having the difficult conversations that liberals like Hasan keep running away from. Jidion did a video in Akansas looking at the perspectives of people living and work there. Its surprising to me that people weren't aware the KKK had fallen out of favor in the towns where they reside. In my experience people always see them as a nuisance that gets kicked out of the town/beat up whenever they actually make a public appearance. These dudes are like the most oppressed community in every small town. Gotta love the irony.
There's a difference between being shunned and oppressed though. There's also a lot of silent acceptance. I mean this guy has a church meaning he has a congregation. And the people that make up that congregation have to live and work somewhere, so they're not entirely shunned by the locals.
There is a good deal of confusion about the narrative of where and when the clan originated, especially for people who live in towns deeply connected to its history. The first group to be known under the name of Ku Klux Klan originated in Pulaski Tennessee about an hour and a half south of Nashville which is where I live. That group had kind of fizzled out by the time the clan was reborn at Stone Mountain in Georgia. In the 1920s I believe. It’s worth pointing out that like Harrison Pulaski Tennessee is known for his history connected to the clan but if you came here you would see that it is more nuanced and complex than that. For example we have a very large amount of interracial marriage .
Even the most racist people don't think they are racist. So no matter how not racist the rest of us think we are, we could always learn more and do better.
Have you actually watched it? Niko found it was actually a pretty nice place with nice people too. Hasan hasn't even been there before so how would he even know lmao.

Your comments about people living in red states really touched my heart because I always hear the opposite. I've lived in the deep south (Georgia) my entire life, and so many people don't realize how many people are the complete opposite of what they think. 1) growing up in families and communities that are VERY religious and conservative often creates children that are radically the opposite of their parents because they've grown up and seen the hypocrisy and bigotry first hand. And also I would like to remind everyone that poor people in the south have a long history of being progressive socialist. The term redneck came from the coal miners that fought for unions and workers rights, although I'm sure some dude in an f-150 with a trump sticker would tell you otherwise. Change is happening slowly, but as the old generation ages out.. change is coming ❤️
It's really cool how hasan allows the dozens of fan-made clip channels to upload his own content and make revenue from it before he uploads it to his own channel. No other streamer does this.
He makes more money using other people's content than anyone using his will ever make... Combined. But hey, let's be ignorant and not actually do research, because it aligns with your views, right?
I really appreciate you bringing attention to rural poverty and how it leads to things like being involved bigotry and whatnot. Things like this are very common where i live and i see very few people speak on it
First timer here. I'm from Canada. I can't access healthcare because of my intersecting identities. I can't get a GP. I have 1 specialist and no proper diagnosis or care. I just can't afford to lose all connections to the health care system so even though he's ableist and I have medical trauma, he tries at least. Anyways even public health care managed to sell out. Our government is greedy as hell. And now they're euthanizing people who lack human rights. It's bad. Look into Canada euthanizing the poor and you'll see what I mean. I feel you so hard. I actually lately been saying I am prejudice because I am done denying that I haven't unlearnt all my prejudice. It's going to take the rest of my life and even then, probably not unless the system has changed. Because as long as we are within this system, we will act on it under certain circumstances until we address it and that means fucking it up sometimes. I just try to learn from it. I have a brain injury so impulse control is not biggest strength. Everyone is gonna mess up a bit until they know. Sorry to put you on the spot but I believe in discourse and the diabetes comment was an ableist and fatphobic assumption based on the mainstream awareness campaigns and such ie eugenics. I understand though, we know what we know. Libtard is also degrading to intellectual disabilities, both because of where tard comes from and because you assoiciated them with liberals who legalized killing us disabled peeps last year. So it's also in another way, slightly perfect as an insult because people with intellectual disabilities are amazing and the r word doesn't really suit them, but it definitely at least partially suits those libs. 🤣 I am disabled and I'm now confident being disabled so I don't get offended when it's clearly not in bad faith. I prefer free speech and speaking for myself. Like how I just explained my perspective on the ableist words used. I do not want people to be censored, I want everyone to be allowed to speak. Because I think we lost discourse stuck in echo chambers and we need to get to know each other again and learn to get along even when we disagree. Plus I think hiding prejudice makes it impossible to change. It is in admitting I'm prejudice I'm able to be aware of and then I can try to adjust it. Ultimately it is only when I'm marginalized not by words of others but by not being able to express myself to others that an issue for me starts to occur. Then I have to pretend to not be autistic and when I mask I find a piece of me died inside. So I'd rather be my neurodivergent self that rambles and cares too much sometimes. 🤣 You give me hope that there are more rather center or bi-partisan people out there. I see how identity politics is used and I understand why it goes so far, too far. You cannot solve marginalization with marginalization. I used to think you could, I know better now. Being censored makes me feel like I want to be violent, it's to myself if I'm being honest but I would imagine if I were someone willing to hurt others just because they're different well, we've seen what happens in the news imo. Domestic terrorism is a side effect or even possibly a desired outcome of eugenics in policy. Marginalization causes violence. The government rigging the game causes violence. I do not want violence. I want to feel safe and have full access to human rights. I want everyone to feel safe and have full access to human rights. ❤️ Sorry it's a super ramble 😂 I haven't slept in 24 hours.

The only reason why this brit kid wasn't immediately surprised when the guy said he needed 3200 dollars for surgery is because hes still super young and probably haven't needed the NHS or realize how important it is in the UK, and is most likely exposed to a lot of american culture daily in tik toks and such, so might think that is kind of thing is normal.

I live in Portland and I go weeks without seeing them here. We have a...history with them, despite many people here having BLM-type flags or posts in their yard.
The part where Hasan talks about how he doesn't blame people who live in red states who mean well but have that residual bigotry type stuff made me feel a lot better. Ive lived in Oklahoma my whole life and I was pulled out of being a conservative by my gf and I still catch myself hearing some of these things that conservatives say and being kinda drawn to the propaganda before pulling myself out of it and always feel so self conscious and horrible about it, so hearing someone having empathy for it in such a "high" position in the leftist space feels really comforting
I’m a San Diegan, and Hasan is right. Santee is in fact called Klantee by locals and has been for years, because there USED to be a major KKK following in the area. Times have changed of course, but we still call it Klantee.
I love this video because I've always wanted to go to places like Harrison or deep-red states and try to educate people on how they are systematically oppressed as well and that it isn't black vs white. I just don't know what I'd actually say to them or how I'd fund it lol
I’m from Arkansas. I’ve always heard that Harrison is the most racist town in the country and even i didn’t know that the KKK leader wasn’t from there, he’s actually from Zinc. I love that this dude made a new buddy in Harrison. It’s so damn wholesome!
i’ve been to both harrison and zinc.

Man that's so fucked, unreal. Best to say you're voting Republican next time, they can't check right?

"nUaNcEd"
How do you know Jidion didn't see the racism? The KKK member he talked to towards the end was clear with his racism, I'm sure with him just being in the KKK, the racism is clear to everyone.
@@Hobyosultana *How do you know Jidion didn't see the racism?*
You know you could have just like, read what i wrote right?
Just puttin them in any other place where the minorities are the majority and it'd be a pretty crazy culture shock honestly.
@@__Andrew basically I'm sayin it wasn't a "missed nuanced" at all as jidion knows passive racism exists. Niko is just better with how he portrayed and explained his point and that's why yall agree with it rather than jidions. But point is the same in all the vids.

18:30 it means a lot to hear this from hasan, because people like me often feel overlooked because of where we live. i was born and raised in memphis, where i still live now, and people automatically assume i’m a racist conservatard, even when i’m wearing my bernie sanders shirt. thank you for shouting us out. much love 💖
Both minorities and white people actually living there and it wasn't as villifying as the media makes it out to be.
@@liebeasta3332 Giving a KKK seperationist a platform and making him seem polite and reasonable is not having a difficult conversation. Also that you think Hasan is a liberal tells me you know nothing about him.
@@lich109 Jidion and Niko actually went to the crux of the problem by addressing it head on. Jidion actually had a civil conversation with somebody with ATROCIOUS opposing views. It doesn't change the fact that he's still a racist but it also doesn't change the fact that they were able to talk about it in a civil manner. Something that you AND Hasan are incapable of
@@liebeasta3332 Having a civil conversation with somebody who has atrocious views worsens the problem, it does not make it better.
@@lich109 No what worsens the problem is telling people how to feel over something you've never experienced. What worsens the problem is lip service and social media activism. You think because you silenced a couple keyboard warriors who refuse to touch grass you've done your good deed for the day
Jideon came to Zinc with a "gang of Zoomers", Niko only needs his warrior companion to confront the leader of the KKK.
Richard said “a strange adventurer approaches me with a quest to find the grand wizard of zinc; of course I’ll accompany him on this noble quest” hahaha
The only night life there is when they burn the cross.
He had good composure because I balled my fist multiple times during the interview and he just responded, "ahh that's fair" while I'm here being petty and angry.
Right ?😂
Big W for MtG nerds, hard to get positive PR for us usually. He even called one us cool, our stock is going up.
hasan saying he loves his watchers that live in red states make me feel so happy. i feel alone in my 6000 pop. small town in kansas with my political ideaology, but watching his streams make me feel welcomed.
when niko gave richard the money, i started crying. as someone who's both disabled and lives in america, a gesture like that means so much to not only disabled people like me but also people who just can't afford healthcare in general. i know i'll need multiple surgeries & procedures done in the future (including gender-affirming surgeries) and who knows when i'll be able to get a consultation, let alone afford them in the first place. i hope i can leave this country one day. i'm not built to live here.
"hesitates in racist" I'm dead lmfao!!
The guys playing magic is just too wholesome. Miss doing stuff like that.
Niko is a world treasure give that man a medal lmfao

I am disabled and I'm now confident being disabled so I don't get offended when it's clearly not in bad faith. 🤣
You give me hope that there are more rather center or bi-partisan people out there.
Sorry it's a super ramble 😂 I haven't slept in 24 hours.
A lot more nuance in this video then Jidion which is shocking considering one video is supposed to be pranking. Historical context, Not defending the KKK and being clear that them not facing hate crimes from all the people dosent mean the towns not completely unracist. Which is at least more then I saw in Jidions video

I’m from Mississippi and I have never been pulled over (I’m white) and one of the few times my black friend drove us to hang, we got pulled over, and he said it happens all the time, and that’s how it is here. This kind of racism is here, even if you can’t see it in the open.
Native San Diegan here - "Klantee" has always been a thing; anyone whose lived here for more than a few months, knows about it. Fallbrook is another such area...it's fascinating that people think everyone in San Diego County is laid back, accepting of everyone, not racist. Our proximity to the beach and more chill vibe compared to other parts of the country, doesn't mean we don't have some lowlifes...
