- Remember Gervasio Deferr? The Spanish gymnast won Olympic gold in the men's vault at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney (scored 9.712) and has defended his Olympic title at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens (scoring 9.737 average). At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won the silver medal on the floor exercise with a score of 15.775. Enjoy watching the best of Gervasio Deferr at the Olympics!

The fact that he won all this while being a party animal is just amazing. He even admits he doesn't remember anything about the previous night of winning a gold medal. Becoming an olympic champion in a hangover day is simply amazing. What a guy, pure talent. Only admiration for him.

He's great and debuted as commentator during the Tokyo Olympics this year, and he did it really well. I hope he continues being called to comment by the Spanish public TV.
I would rate him as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. His landing is very consistent - be it floor or vault. He knows how to use his power to correct minor landing mistakes. His tucked thomas is always smooth. Seriously he's quite underrated.

IHe' s been thru his share of ups and downs but such a genuine and talented personality could only thrive no matter what.

After the Sydney Olympics, he fell into alcohol and drugs, spent the first 3 years of the Olympic cycle without stepping on a gym or training, he prepared Athens in just 8 months after all this and still won gold. it is sad to think what he could have become and his bad head prevented him from

The effect of cannabis is not the issue it's the principle. A real injustice is Andreea Raducan being stripped of her gold after being prescribed banned medication by the Romanian team doctor when she was still a minor.
