      So true. And yet all we keep hearing is stuff about banning this weapon or that- no addressing of school safety, no policies and training for school defense, no attention to the societal and cultural issues that cause these evil and/or whacked out perpetrators to act in the first place.
      The pundits and politicians have an agenda, and they take advantage of tragedies like this to promote their cause.
      If they really cared, they’d be willing to enact and participate in the cultural changes necessary to curb and eventually eliminate in a generation the brokenness that is creating these monsters that commit violent atrocities against children, families, and celebrating crowds. Innocents that become victims of heinous crimes carried out by evil individuals- usually very young men- in our society deserve more than bandwagon lip service to make more laws or ban guns. The victims deserve justice and their families deserve safe communities. Banning firearms or certain magazines doesn’t remove the perpetrator risk- it merely insures that innocent law abiding citizens bear an inability to pursue their recreational pursuits if they are shooting sports enthusiasts.
      Until deal with the cause, gun ban or no gun ban we’ll continue creating evil perpetrators who will continue killing innocents.
      Never mind the blatant and abject dereliction of duty by law enforcement that day, and totally irresponsible handling of the crises. It’s almost looking like they wanted this to happen.
      And banning AR15s will fix all that they say.

      i’m a college student now but the scariest moment of my life was when in high school, we got a shooter threat. i was at lunch, practicing a dance with other students… our assistant principal suddenly ran to us ans told us to run as fast and as far as we could. i’ll never forget the absolute horror in my veins when we ran out of the school. i ran and was terrified that the shooter was behind us and would follow us, we had no idea where they were. somebody was arrested for making the threat-they never showed up, it was a “prank.” and it was one of the cruelest “pranks” that one could ever do. for the rest of that year at school i was terrified to go anywhere, the bathroom, different classrooms, etc. i was always prepared to run. i’ll never forget it and i’ll always hurt for those who were lost in this country from gun violence.

I also don't think we need high capacity magazines...not the general population...And I do think we should have back ground checks....but instead of asking ME, I think you should listen to these parents who have lost their entire world. Listen to the parents of the children who have been murdered by gun violence. Let them tell you what they'd change! Furthermore, I think the fact that we are the only country this is happening in time and time again speaks to the issue. Our children will grow up thinking these mass shootings are "normal". • @jen4um
      @jen4um 2 роки тому

      @@emilysusanvanvalkenberg5978 I never said it was normal. However, have you considered that the guns themselves are not the problem? We are living in a time unfortunately where good is considered evil and evil good. Just look around you. Nothing is normal. We are in the last days and time is getting short. If you have a Bible read Romans chapter 1. Don’t stop there. Read the gospel of John. I am not against stricter gun laws. However, there are those who’s main objective is to disarm the population entirely but the reason we have a second amendment is to protect the population from a rogue government. There is a group on a global scale which includes some in the US who would remove US sovereignty if they could get rid of our second amendment. When Americans can no longer defend themselves, we won’t have a country. Again, I am not opposed to some legislation but you have to be very careful because it’s a slippery slope.

      My kids go back to school August and I’m so afraid I never felt scared like this before and they haven’t changed any laws or secured the schools with police officers etc..

    My twin boys who are 5 start school soon, I don’t think I can send them. I’m too afraid, I’m too nervous to think my babies can be taken from me at SCHOOL. I have already started the steps to homeschool. America is not safe anymore to leave your children anywhere. This breaks my heart, sobbing while trying to understand what these parents are going through. I can’t imagine, I don’t want to imagine… I reallly really wish all of these families didn’t have to go through this. You watch this and wish you could help them, fix it, WE ALL NEED TO HELP OUR HOME FEEL SAFER AND BETTER FOR OUR BABIES. They and all the families are forever in my heart, may they have all our love, prayers, and support. I’m here for change in our system, for our children.

    My condolences dear mother and father. May God comfort you. 21 years old is still too young. People that age are still irresponsible. The age should be raised much much higher. 30s or 40s.

    • @leun6768
      @leun6768 2 роки тому +33

      agree, I don't know why people keep saying they should raise it to 21. People really think 21 year olds are so much more mature than 18-20 year olds, its insane. I'd say raise it to 25

    • @leun6768
      @leun6768 2 роки тому +15

      @Kira The reason I chose 25 is that generally a brain is fully developed by then, especially the critical frontal lobe which is used for consequence thinking etc. It's crazy how you can't rent a car before 25 but you can buy any type of weaponry you wish at 18. Something isn't adding up here.
      I can't find any reason why an 18 year old or anyone around that age could just order assault rifles from the internet that easily. If you are american that I can say then you live in a corrupt country my friend. Some things over there are just absurd.

    • @leun6768
      @leun6768 2 роки тому +1

      @Kira And unfortunately the laws will probably not be changed. And there will certainly be more horrific mass shootings. It's sad to say but it's almost too late to do anything unless the government decides to do something very major

    • @kennaluvschu
      @kennaluvschu 2 роки тому +3

      @Kira you clearly didnt understand their comment & it shows. around the age of 25 is typically when the brain completely stops growing. thats why it’s surprising that a lot of people were suggesting to have the age raised to 21, because at the age of 21 theres still a big chance that the brain can be generally underdeveloped.

    My daughter is in an all year around school they get out earlier and start sooner than most schools, and weeks prior before this tragic event my child had a ceremony at her school . I dropped her off and then came back after 9am for her ceremony. I took pictures of her and her friend . There’s no imagining if this happened to you or me. I am just so sorry my heart is broken for these parents . I live in San Antonio tx

    I have no words except my heart hurts for these families. If laws can't change quickly what does that say about the legal system and who is in charge? This is a no brainer for most parents, stricter gun laws.

    • @luciawiltzius4734
      @luciawiltzius4734 2 роки тому

      Stricter gun laws will do NOTHING if they are not enforced and criminals are not held accountable. The same people in government calling for these laws have praised cities with the highest gun crime in America who happen to also have those same laws they are calling for. Yet, they CHOOSE to turn a blind eye to everyday street violence. Tired as the argument may sound, nothing will stop someone wanting to do harm from doing it. There are too many guns on the street, floating around ILLEGALLY. They cannot be confiscated and they cannot be tracked, The best that we can do is defend ourselves, scary as it may sound. You saw the police stand back. Noone will protect your family but YOU.

    I feel so sorry for these parents, having to bury their daughter cause the cowardly police officers just stood outside and didn't do anything to help those innocent children, my prayers and thoughts are with the good people of uvalde, and May the police officers get charged for darilate of duty for they were sworn to protect and serve yet they failed to do so, hold them accountable for their lack of action and God Bless this mother and father who's child should not have died but unfortunately was taking before her time 🙏God Bless this Mother and Father 🙏
