Dylan’s input was great lol. I want to say: I found this channel because of Dylan. Auram’s corner was one of the first comic book channels I ever watched. The spider woman collection made me focus my own toy collecting significantly.
@@AuramAlexander thank YOU. It sounds like we are in a similar spot in our own AoS watch throughs (you referenced season 3 recently), I’d love you to do another deep dive here or on your personal channel when you wrap up.
Werewolf by Night was so good it's unreal the cinematography was amazingly executed, the actors nailed it, and the metaphor of Wizard of Oz at the end, I found it hard to find a bad thing about it.
they actually had a fully practical Man-Thing. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the version sitting on the log and slightly enhanced with cg cause it looked amazing!
The supporting cast was great they were just the right amount of over the top to sell the hunters as a crazy obbsessed warrior group. It kind of reminded me of John Wick's world in that sense. Going in blind, I was totally expecting The hunted monster would be a werewolf, Ted was such a good choice it buried the lead a little bit.
I like Moon Knight the most character and story wise from MCU disney+ phase 4 but mannn, Werewolf by Night is kinda the only MCU disney+ thing that actually felt like it was confident of its screentime. It knew what it wanted to be in 50+ minutes and made a polished full story with that. Man-Thing/Ted is hot.
A successful genre exercise, Werewolf By Night is a bloody romp that respects the horror movies that inspired it and blazes a new direction for the MCU that opens up a lot of possibilities.
This was Leagues above so many other things the MCU had put out that it’s almost criminal this wasn’t the 12 episode series and she hulk was. Hell after seeing a literal ork from Skyrim (most likely rendered by an intern in the same engine due to time crunch) in She-hulk it’s such a breath to see not only a practical effect for any character in the MCU but even Man-Thing is helped tremendously by the way they light him both in black and white and in color
The special was fantastic. And I think the fade into colour from black and white was meant to be a representation of night turning to day. Because when you think of it, this all takes place over one day, and then the sun rises and everyone is where they are. It was aesthetically incredible.
I’m still obsessed with that first trailer. It’s so perfect. The show had some great shots and I love the title card and font so much. Overall enjoyed it and I would absolutely watch it again.
I will say there are behind the scenes photos of the cast. Man Things body is 100 percent practical. The only thing they CG'd on him was his facial expressions. That's probably why he looked so good. He was probably CG for the fight scenes though
4:45 @ Benny Good point, also if I may add to your point, They implied that Manthing and WerewolfbyNight were superior monsters to the average batch based on their behavior and kill death ratio over those hunters (jack walked right in not scared, Manthing came back to kill their leader, they were on a different level) She wasn't in the cage with something she's used to hunting but in the cage with something on a whole different level that possibly is too powerful to be hunted. @Benny again you nailed it. Werewolf by night normally looks like a wolfman, not a werewolf(70s logic) Elsa, Ted and Jack will be back! you're on fire!
Dylan's interjection was great. Yeah man, special's good. I was taken out of the aesthetic they were going for with the visual effects,I think they could have gone with some big puppets and janky stopmotion for Man-Thing, and hand-animated wisps for the Bloodstone, but the special effects with the body parts and the blood (I'm sure that was also CG but it looked right) looked great. When everything's in color, go all out with the CGI, Man-Thing looked great. I would like more specials over miniseries that are just stretched out movies.
Definitely one of the best things MCU related. I didn't find it scary at all tho so I've yet to see that from Marvel but eh great anyway. Interesting to think that intentionally making something black and white could be used so effectively in service of the story. The aesthetic of the black, white and red (noir colour splash?) is something I love. The Wolf-Man look is so much cooler than like the more modern Big Wolf design of werewolves. I mean that's what werewolf is supposed to mean isn't? Should recognisably be hybrid between human and wolf?
This was great, except.. The fight scene with the werewolf. That didn't look like a werewolf, or an actor in a werewolf prosthetic. It looked like a parkour dude in a Halloween costume jumping around. I thought a werewolf would rip people apart, not do wwe luchador moves.
Thought it was good. Very much got a Krysten Ritter "Jessica Jones" vibe from Elsa but I think it was because they kinda look alike. Enjoyable special.
Isn’t baby Ted a thing in Aaron’s Avengers? I feel like I remember Blade having him in a backpack or something. Idk I dropped that book like a year ago
It's not my favourite but it's the best Disney plus thing they don't really seem to understand TV style episodic storytelling so it cool they have this one and directors driven project hope they do more one offs
Dylan's interjection was gold. He needs to do that more!!!!
Those little freaks
Top tier!
1:20 LOL, this will have to become a thing 🤣
"These little freaks" Thank you for blessing us with that cameo Dylan

Man-Thing was a mix of practical and chi and he looked incredible lol

The man thing I’m pretty sure was an actual practical suit with cgi on top. There’s a photo of ted with the crew. Looked amazing!
Been a while since I read Man-Thing comics never realized he look like something from Clthulu.

Werewolf by night was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I give this special 5 Benny and Sal Howls out of 5.

Giacchino did an incredible job especially as a directing debut like godDAYUM
LMAO Dylan jumping in was great, sorry you didn't get to talk about it with them!! :(
wherewolf by night was really awesome :)
Jack and Ted will be back in the Avengers ride at Avengers Campus
I'm glad this seems to be really well received across the board. Hopefully we really lean into the horror and occult side of marvel going forward
They don't have to lean, they just have to bother covering that side. Marvel and DC is a lot of everything.
Warewolf by night is my favorite of all time marvel project
Even in colour its the best phase 4 mcu project
Sals back? Fuck yes!! He’s #1
Man-Thing was a practical suit enhanced by CGI.
that was awesome, definitely one of my favorites in the phase as well
Can’t wait to hear your guys she-hulk finale thoughts. Werewolf by Night was awesome by the way
agreed
Betting Sals gonna skip that one
@@MrRobot1984 That comment didn’t age well.
How come y’all didn’t let Dylan know?? Lol
😁Dang it Dylan I've watched this episode twice now and your little interjection is the best part by far lol More give us more of those man More!!!!
I like jacks intro buy doing the eye highlight like dracula

It did remind me of Bram Stoker dracula's wolf(?) transformation at the garden, didn't expected much from the special but did like it
3:40 I couldn’t put my finger on it until Sal said that, she seemed so familiar to me but I didn’t know why.
I wouldn’t say it’s a comedy. It just had jokes to levitate tension.
Every movie does this, even horror movies

Dylans input is great, just needed a little cartoon version pop up in the corner.
Then he wouldn't watch it
I enjoyed it way more than She Hulk.

Why wasn’t it called Bloodstone? It’s was Elsa’s story more than Jack’s.
name recognition
@@WhiteJeezus Maybe? I’d be more interested in a show called Bloodstone that’s a continuation of Elsa than of Jack.

Haha Dylan hilarious my man
From what I've seen Man-thing was practical effects not cgi

I don't think this forgives any of the horribleness that's has been marvel lately but it's a great departure and was really cool and enjoyable.
What movie is Sal talking about in 2006?
Ted
while it was good, one good product among a bunch of bad products doesnt make me say "MAVERL IS BAACK",
Dylan should just do his own review with somebody else from the crew
