- A quick instructional video on how to set the X &Y Shift on the camera used in Lightburn. This video was created using a Ortur LM2 and Macbook Pro 17". Created by Marvin Holdman at The Lucky Shed © 2020.
Im so glad i foung this video . its so simple and i was pulling my hair out with frustration lol . Thanks man Subscribed!!
Above X & Y shift is Width & Height. I'm pretty sure you had to make three runs at it because your height needs to come a tiny bit into the negative. Great video!
Outstanding!!
Would love to see your setup with the LM2 and the camera. :)
This video fixed my problem. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Just what i was looking for - great vid!
question when I turn off the computer
when I turn it back on do I have to recalibrate the camera again or setting is saved in the software
I'm new to lightburn. One question, once you make these x and y adjustments, do you need save these adjustments so they become the default? Or does the application save automatically and apply on every project going forward? I appreciate the video! Thanks.
I'm looking for that answer too. Do you have to click on "Save Settings"? We'll keep searching then.
Do you save settings after each one?
Thanks for the video it really helped.
Marvin ,
Thanks for doing this, does this " tweak " apply only to the current open file or does it add this to the alignment information so that on any other file you might use, the alignment is then corrected as it takes that info from the previous alignment correction you did?
I saw that there is a save option but didnt see you save this so I am a little unsure on how this works, current file only or it applies to total camera alignment always so you dont need to do this again on another job thats different. Im trying to understand how this works please.
I have set my camera up and im about 10mm out on the right hand side and 7 mm to low and I dont know whether to recalibrate the lens again and again until i get rid of the alignment issue or just do what you have done as i dont know how that is supposed to work on a file by file basis,
you have done it on this file but say you want to put text on the edge of a wooden spoon, does it remember that you were out on alignment the first time and apply those corrections to this new file or do you have to realign for this file I guess is what I'm trying to say, sorry if its confusing but im banging my head against a wall at the moment.... I scored incredible results on calibration to the point where i could skip a lot which i did. thanks for any help. Neil.
good question. i'm trying to figure this out myself, will see tomorrow when i go play with my laser again if it remembered those changes i made today.
@@bazmarc hi, have u figured it out? would be nice to now. thanks
Does the adjustment save? Or should I write down the calibrations and redo it each time
There is a save the settings button.
can i get the name and model of the camera you bought from this video or possibly the link to it thanks.

@@mhm8116 thank you, so do they work with any kind of web camera in general? as well as do they auto focus like the camera typed you end up buying?
dreamkiss4u as far as I know. I got this one because it was the closest wide angle lens to the ones Lightburn sold. I changed my setup and learned that the camera needs to be a minimum distance form it to calibrate. Right about 2’ seems to be minimum. Originally I turned the camera on and positioned it so the entire work area was viewable. I’ve burned several dozen cutting boards and it seems to work ok. I do a quick calibration test on a piece of cardboard before each actual burn. It’s a bit quirky, but overall I am happy.
dreamkiss4u oh yeah.... they are fixed focus, so there is no adjusting needed.
