I'm a tenth grader who is a die hard lover of books but I didn't have the money to purchase books of course with the pandemic going on.
But my mom broke the news that she's giving her whole bookshelf to me! I started to read philosophy and to my surprise, my friends refer to me now as the “walking bookshelf”.
In terms of writing, I drastically improved. My essays are getting higher marks and my teachers are starting to like how my thought flow is and found it interesting.

When I was a kid, I never understood my dad's style, nor did my mother. He made a room full of historical paintings and no leftover space on the walls. But general aesthetic things aside, it romanticises stuff like prioritising studying over general health, habits such as smoking and drinking, and isolating yourself/ prioritising learning above everything else! While it is wonderful, we should always remember that we don't need to ruin our eyesight reading by candlelight for the aesthetic!
