I still have my mom's Kodak Instamatic Camera that used flash cubes, at home. By the way I met you at the military re-enactment event at the Michigani Military Technical & Historical Society, in Eastpointe, MI on 10-10-2020. It was nice to meet you. You refreshed my memories of the cameras from the days of old.
Great video! Glad you touched on the 126/35 mm correlation. One thing I learned about the Kodak super 8 cameras is that the drive gears in the camera will age and can disintegrate or shatter. I ended up finding a nice Canon 814 for shooting film.
TPD...this is great! I need your help. My wife just found my mother's old, *still in the box* M20 camera with unopened film, 1 shot left on flash cube, instructions, and a "sun gun" bulb in the box. We plugged that in and turned it on. OMG it was a "sun!" Very, very bright, very, very hot. However, my mother left the 4 AA batteries in the camera, beyond corroded. What can we do to fix the corrosion issue?
clean with a mixture of bicarb soda/water, then use a small file to clean off the contacts. The bicarb soda will neutralise the acid and prevent further corrosion.
I recently bought a Instamatic 104 on Tradera (swedish version of EBay). Do you have a tutorial of how to use the camera? The reason that I ask is because the camera seem to work but only if I open the space where the film is in between each take, that is to pull the little thing above the film. My guess is that it shouldn’t be that way…
I have an Instamatic M6 and I loaded it with 3 AA batteries, pressed the trigger, and the motor turned on, but I cannot get it to turn off without just popping out a battery. Help!!!!
Hmm, it sounds like there’s something wrong with the trigger switch. I don’t know much about electronics, but I would tell you to take it apart, find the switch, and see if you can fix a loose wire or something. I hope that helps!

Love this channel, very informative videos and clearly great taste in music too!
Thank you so much! I’ve got more videos on the way!
Just bought an Instamatic M6, besides the batteries leaking, I think it should still work!
Lovely video man, really chill
Thank you!
I have a question about film for the instamatic M9, can I just load it with Super 8? Sorry, I’m not too familiar with film.
You definitely can load it with super 8 film!
Thank you 👋
