I just bought a ‘96 Hijet from them about 3 weeks ago. I got the tire and wheel set they sell too. Mine will easily do over 60mph.

Yeah, I am so glad I got a 5 speed. The thing just cruises. I mainly keep it on the city streets and take back roads if I need to go somewhere that I want to stay off the bigger highways. Suits my needs just fine. Thanks for watching. Congrats on your new truck. What year did you get?

1996. Wonder if you were there before or after I went. They had a really good selection.

What made you choose the Hijet over something like an Acty or the Sambar? I'm still learning about the differences between the trucks and curious what made you choose that model. I live in Florida and the Sambar is appealing since I wouldn't be sitting on top of a hot engine in the summer.

Really it came down to the overall feel of the truck for me. As they are all relatively small on the interior, there is certain things that felt more comfortable for me. I have been driving my HiJet almost daily now for a month now and I can say that it suits me fine. I guess the window crank can be in the way of my knee at times but that's not a deal breaker. The shifting to me really was the big thing as I drove each one during my time at Mayberry Mini Trucks. The Hijet just seemed to shift easier than the others and felt smooth and solid each shift. I can say driving manuals in the past I did grind a couple gears the first week or so just from shifting from the opposite side. Just muscle memory I think. I have been buying some replacement parts: brake pads, spark plugs, wires and things to eventually switch out. But all in all its been a great little truck and definitely gets people looking and smiling everyday. I do not feel any particular engine heat in the truck while driving extended distances. I don't have AC but just cruise with the window down when it gets toasty outside. - Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!

I paid 10,600 for it. I figured for the ultra low mileage it was worth it.

today's trucks are so overpriced, these little ones are so nice!
