Reminds me of the 90s. Pool days, playing baseball, mischief and oh yeah people actually talked to each other.
Probably because they weren't sitting around bitching about how things used to "be better back when..."
People talk to each other now dude. Not much has changed really.
and people weren't looking at smartphones all the time
Normal because they’re in 1991
@@truthdetector4036Totally…. Now allow me to excuse you while you type a reply on your smartphone.
So many memories flooding back now. what a time it was without internet everywhere. Just summers full of made-up shenanigans to pass time.
yep and just think about it - in 15-20yrs we'll have movies reminiscing about TikTok challenges 🙄 (all assuming of course our society makes it that far)
The 1990's was my childhood. How I miss those years.
They nailed that early-90's vibe!
80s too
Other than the goofy-as-fuck gen z hairstyles.
The modern haircut are out of place.
meh naah
No, they didn't.
I'm 45 years old, I'm from Portugal. I love these "period" films that portray good old times, in 1991 I was 12 years old. This film has a beautiful story about friendship and teenage love, something we've all been through. It has moments of humor, but it has a beautiful story. Also some drama at the end (I won't spoil it). It's worth watching!
Nothing like a 80's style comedy with 90's language.
To be in these moments are priceless. I love my life in the 90s
Bro, it was much more tame, but in a summer job I worked maintenance, food shack worker, and life guard for a summer camp a few times in a row.
Holy fuck.. we got into so much trouble those summers. This movie looks fucking great.
Last dialogue at the end of the trailer-CLASSIC!
"Dude, write the word "f*ck" on the hot dog, seventy five cents more."
"Dude, that's genius"
The late 80s and the early 90s. My adolescence. ❤
The 2000s to early 2010s were like this too. It was after like 2012-2013 when you didn’t see this stuff anymore.
The Obama effect.
September 11, 2001 changed a lot of things, and us 90s teenagers had to grow up. I think that's part of the reason we think back to the 90s so fondly.
@albihysenaj5997 That isn't different though. When I was a kid, they said kids only play video games, they never go outside. The generation before that it was the TV. Before that it was the radio. And before that kids who had their heads stuck in books all day were dreamers and scatterbrains.
Hope this is good - retro movies are just plain fun!
This looks awesome pure 90s fun
The Mike Judge is strong with this one.
Thanks for showing me the whole movie.
Thanks for showing me the limit of your intellect!
Saves me from having to actually watch it.
@@Pooters73 i dont get it, you could have 90 minutes of a good time.
instead you choose just to watch a trailer.
Take your time for the whole experience
@@kornburg14 Shhhh leave these fools alone. They would walk into barnes and noble and read summary from the back of the book and think they know the story and why people might like the books lol
Sounds right, Tiktok songs less than 3 minutes, movies less than 5. 😅
They don't want to make movies during present day anymore because the 90's were the best and everyone knows it
In 10 years people will be saying the same thing about the 2020s
@@hobgoblin4614 aint no one wanna watch people be miserable or psychos during covid lockdown lol it would be a horror movie and not a fun comedy movie like this one lmao
I was 14 in 1991....I guess I am supposed to go see this movie. 😂
Idk what I just saw, and I love it
Will for sure be watching this
Okay, I'm in! This looks more like the 70s than the 90s, but the 90s had a little 70s nostalgia fad, so this tracks.
Although, I thought they'd put drugs in the food and coke up a bunch of kids.
EDIT: Yeardley Smith is one of the XPs! What's that about?
I call it the cyclical nature of American fashion. Every 20-40 years, things come back in style. There were some 1990s fashion trends that were influenced by/calling back to 1970s fashion trends. And yes, this movie looks amazing and I will be seeing it in a theatre.
it's more 80s than 90s. no one wore tub socks in the 90s. it was more high waisted jeans on girls with blue shirts, bobs, vests. guys had doc martins jeans or pleated pants, button down oversized shirts. i remember it well!
91 i had 11 years old almost 12... so nostalgic... 1979 rules!
I love Indy comedies like these glade they are still going strong
I Sean Finneran am manifesting my teenage self in a 90's teenage summer movie just like this one for he is a 90's teenager that will never ever be forgotten.
I saw this movie on 3-14-24 and it was better than I thought it would be. I recommend this movie. Some of these actors will be stars in the future. :)
the "f*ck dawg" killed me
Looks fun.
As an adult, I approve of this movie ,👍👍👍🤔👍
I will watch this!
EPIC!!!!
In '91 our hair wasn't like that! Nappie mop
Feels like kids from this era making an 80's movie.
i worked at a country club snack shack in college for the summer - moms laying out with kids in the pool.
I still remember the French Mom at our pool. First MILF I ever saw.
It has the early years of Dazed and Confused a little with the back of the truck driving and the Pontiac T top like Ben Affleck. Would be great if one of the kids is named Mitch lol
Nitpick. Those are today's haircuts, not 1991's
this looks sick!
Classic and eternal theme (teenage life) with simplicity, good humor, casting style, and even some innocence. I doubt it won't be REALLY COOL movie!👆🏻
EMF smoking on the roof yup the 90's😊
90s was the best decade man. Theres a warm cozy feeling to it
This feels like kids from this era making an 80's movie, again. Nothing about it feels 90s.
Ya but for once can we make one where the guy doesn't get the girl lol dam
Imagine a movie with the same plot but based on 2024 the whole movie would be about people crying and trying to find their identity and more crying about getting their feelings hurt
Imagine just watching a F*ing trailer and not trying to turn everything into a culture war drama fight...you a snowflake or something or did you just reach that age where being a Culture Justice Warrior is just part of your identity now? And don't get all offended because you got called out because we both know there ain't jack all you can do about it except cry more.
Many commenters are complaining about the boys' 2024 haircuts... so... let's rewrite this, with the film opening in the whiny 2020s, have the boys discover a time machine, transport themselves to 1991, and FEEL the difference of a non-social media everyday existence.
TODAY IT CAME OUT
One of those kids looks like a younger version of Danny Duncan
Good old 90s
This acually looks good no maistream actors, all new.
1991 was such a good year
This 100% AI-designed.
where can i watch it?
That doesn’t look like 1991
what font is that
reminds me of adventureland
Do new comedies have to always have the yellow/green filter with dark contrast
Where can I watch this movie?
Gen-Z haristyle in the 90s
Mika😍
Notice all the movies being made set in the 80's, 90's? Says a lot about the youth of today and how much they suck.
Bitching about today’s youth makes you sound like an old POS.
Agreed, just look at Disney’s defenders.
@@liamerolduffy7738 Hey, I liked the Defenders.
@@nash6568 Not the comic, I mean Disney’s die hard fans that come running to defend them whenever a flop comes out, like last Jedi or the marvels.
@@liamerolduffy7738 Okay I actually really liked the Marvels. Though I admit it wasn’t without its flaws. Everything has flaws.
It could stand to up its game though.
when the 'comedy' movie trailer didnt even make me laugh...
That was not a fashionable haircut in 1991. It was either very short hair(a la the guys in Beverly Hills 90210) or long hair Seattle Grunge-style. Those are very much 2024 haircuts.
looks good, a little heavy on the tobacco though
As the 90s were...
The 80s were the same way.
Back to the future,
Happy days
Bio pics La Bamba and Great balls of fire.
Lots of 50s music. I’ve watched fashion do the same. I was born in 1981. Seems to be looking back 30ish years about the time teenagers are pulling stuff out of their parents closest.
Nostalgia is running rampant these days, because these kids would get cancelled in a heartbeat nowadays.
@@commandercaptain4664 I think you are making a fascinating point, if I understand you correctly. Please correct me if I misunderstood your point. If the story is set in the past, the creative team can get away with things on screen that they would not be able to get away with if they set the movie in the present day. It allows the filmmakers to say "It was a different time and we are trying to represent the era." (apologies if this makes anyone feel old.)
RITCHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Love reminiscing about the 90s but are there not usually funny bits in comedy movie trailers?
1:17 - loshun
so basically superbad redone 20 years later?
They forgot that in a true old school 80s/90s teen movie, the main driver is about getting laid, not making money.
I really miss early 90s shenanigans!
This generation's Superbad! I'm glad to see movies like this again.
Generic plain face kid in: AI PEOPLE - everybody looks the same!
Starring: Girl! "I got dark hair!"
Best Friend! "How do I hold a cigarette?!"
You: "90's and pre-vape, amirite?"
I don’t get what it’s about - are they making beer? They’re aren’t just selling regular snacks, right?
I think they are just selling regular snacks.
Their ingenious money making idea is to write "fuck" on the hotdogs and charge more for it.
wait. they are 14 but lied about being 16 right?? and the girl cant be 14 she has to be above 17 and she is getting intrested in one of the boys... yeahh
A high school senior and freshman!?! OMG, someone call the police
Does Congress legislate your morals because that's worlds worse than than what you are talking about being depicted in this film
Not the 90s I remember at all. The dialogue especially...its like some zoomer screenwriter asked AI to write this screenplay.
1991 is about 10 years too early for guys' hair being that shaggy. Looks fun though!
Most times when movies are in past decades, they don't bother to style the hair accurately to the decade. It's annoying.
Depends. Between 89 and 91 there was a huge palette of haircuts and styling, I started with 30's haircut and ended with a bob. Not the guy, he was an idiot already. On clothing, in 89 I was having very stylish classical clothing, but in 1991 I was wearing comfortably flairs.Again concerning hair, most of the friends had such hair. I succeded to keep mine, while they don't have any. Take care yourself and the ones you love, I have to return at the morgue.
Early 90s had a hard on for the 70s, with bell bottoms and tie dye. The hair is on point.
@@commandercaptain4664 Personally I remember 70s Parties that were organized by techno Clubs. The music was mostly techno, but the chicks were coming with their clothing of their mothers. Great times for clubbing. Surprisinlgy there were fewer drugs than now in these clubs and the people had more respect.
@@nkwari I agree with you on both counts. The hair is where they usually get things wrong. I've heard its because it's one way to make it more relatable to a modern audience. I don't understand why that's a thing, but it's something I've heard before.
The have modern haircuts but the film is in 1991.
Is this just an excuse for product placements
Marlboro Mediums
This would be a perfectly good PG13 movie but they just had to rate it R
Good movie but this trailer makes the movie seem like an old school 90s comedy which it really isn't.
what is wrong wih beth honestly just because us fans think a player is good doesnt mean he actually has to be good out there you all are crying out for amad so much he clearly isnt doing enough to convince ten hga also ten hga has promoted Garnacho , Mainoo , Kambwalla , forson as well they all have convinced the manager enough to play other than seeing a couple of dribbles and stuff from amad how much have you actually seen of him to hype him up so much
This I will see because it's 1991. How kids were back than and not today.
let's just call it comedy...
It's funny that small children can't watch R Rated movies and yet they are allowed to swear in R Rated movies. They are still exposing children to R Rated content.
Looks weak. What else you got?
No one called people "douche bag" as a mean name in 1991. It didn't become a derogatory term until at least 1996. And no one actually wore a D.A.R.E. shirt. Wardrobe is trying too hard.
this looks sad
it was alright but it was predictable because its like so many other movies
Holy shit! I was born on that year!! 0:23
Will this movie suck? Yes. Big POS? Yes. Academy award winner? Hell No. Will I see it? You bet!!!
I bet A.I. wrote the screenplay for this movie. They asked the A.I. to write a movie that was kind of like Caddyshack but have it revolve around a swimming pool Snack shack.
I've heard "I bet AI made this" so many times I'm starting to think if there's an AI bot writing it.
@@suakeli You are not wrong. I bet that if I asked A.I. to write a very short review, it would write what I wrote.
This does not look funny or smart.
90s movie with those stupid haircuts kids have now? With the I wore a hat and blow-dried my hair upwards, then took the hat off. One of those films where you can bet the writer and director is the same person.. with no one to tell him no, don’t do that.
Grew up in the 90s and nothing is nostalgic here. Maybe you have to be from Nebraska. I hope the director didn’t grow up in the 90s.
Looks awful
LAME!!!!!
This can't be real. I thought all movies had to be Woke now. I hope it make a ton.
Please, not another teen movie!
as long as no woke toxicity it's safe
please not another movie! no more movies, ever
it looks devoid of woke toxicity. it's gonna rake in a fortune
It looks terrible.
No iPhones
No woke BS
No politics
No pronouns
No lockdowns
No vaccine side effects
Yeah - count me in.
Things are just getting more and more vulgar. This does not look like the 90s i knew.
Looks awful. Not a single funny thing in the trailer
They make movies like this about the 80's and 90's because nobody has any balls or personality these days Oh and we actually told jokes that were offensive.
This movie looks great. About time its not some woke BS
It looks terrible. I think you’re confusing “great” with “anti-woke BS”.
