    Yes to everything you said. Im 4 1/2 months in. I've been retwisting over 400 locs. Everything around my perimeter was slipping within a week. I started interlocking two days ago. No regrets thus far!

      Happy 10 1/2 months to you! If I would've read this comment before I split my close, I would've been shocked by the number 400 but I totally get it now. Glad that interlocking worked well for you, it's the only method that I'll use. How are your locs doing?

    Love this I’m on my 3rd journey I started with 2 strand twist and interlocked the roots this time around. I refuse to deal with unraveling and having to redo and retwist every couple days or every time my hair gets wet. So far this has been the most care free and easy going journey by far 🥰

      @@KimKim-dd6wj It's extremely versatile and after being over 10 years natural, my hair started to become a lot of work to maintain. It's fine, low-density, and doesn't hold styles very well. I was slacking on my haircare and wearing a lot of ponytails. My interlocks aren't shake and go somedays like ladies with fluffier hair, but they're so easy and beautiful. I combed out my 1st set after having extentions for a year. During that time I was interlocking. I restarted with 2 strand twist. I have 4c low density hair and decided to retwist on this journey.
    During the first 6mths I found that my hair every morning was sticking up all over the place and need to be wet to tame it. Wetting it caused unraveling so I crocheted the twist to combat that but still retwisting the roots. Ladies and gents, I am one that can't do smells and needs to wash my hair. This was problematic and after 6 month my new growth on low density hair was not locking. Good thing is that my part to loc ratio is much better and my new growth is growing with my loc. It wasnt doing that the first go round.
    I have decided to go back to interlocking I will make sure that I have enough new growth to loosly complete a 4point rotation and not tighten to the scalp in hopes that will help not create a complacted loc.

The process is coming along better than I expected but now there is another problem. The stylist that does the interlocking method doesn’t seem to be as skilled or as knowledgeable with how the method should be done. I looked over my locs and a few of them actually has holes which is a little saddening to me, but I have such thick hair you wouldn’t be able to tell at all. After watching tons of videos I understand what causes these holes. You see, you’re not supposed to go through the seem loop twice. Happy basketball season! I'm sure by now the season has started. I recommend interlocking for active lifestyles because the sweat can cause unravelling, however, some people are able to utilize other retwists methods with little to now unravelling. How is your hair holding up so far? interlocking would require less maintenance over time which might be fitting for your active season.

    • @JAYoung-cs5xx
      @JAYoung-cs5xx 2 роки тому +1

      You can, but interlocking tends to make a tighter lock, so know that they will most likely be thinner than the retwisted section. A 3-point rotation might give you a less tight loc than a 4-point

    • @NjokiKiiru

      Great question! For me personally, I saw more length after retwists when my locs were forming. Prior to this set of locs, I had a lot of shrinkage with the palm roll method when my locs were starter locs. Either method will ultimately help retain length in the long run because hair is not shedding from over manipulation. Hope this helps!
