That ending was horrifying. To me, it seems, that the alternate, taking advantage of the pills for its hallucinations side affects, is now putting Jude through a fate worst then death...just constant visions of horror and taunting him with the vision of his own death, a freedom he'll probably never achieve now...
Because of the ending for Vol. 5, the use of the bird call in teaser 2 makes much more sense. Jude is calling for someone to help when no one can know where he is, just like how the bird calls for a mate yet its the last of its species and no other bird will come.
Jude is going to be the last of his family. Adam won't be human enough to have any successors, the bloodline ends with Adam, but it ultimately dies with Judas

There's definitely a scene where Gabriel shows the sheep to the shepherd, and the audience knows that it's an alternate if they're paying attention, but why do you think that the shepherd is even aware of the concept of an "alternate" at all?

Alex has such a unique style of cinematography and a real knack for horror. Every. Single. Scene. Makes you feel like something is horribly wrong. A sense of impending uncertain doom for the characters. No jump scares needed for it to be the best of its kind on the internet. Note: some of those shots in the end are genuinely terrifying. Everything feels so authentic and real. Props to your work and your excellent comeback. I’m so glad you could clear your name.

ok, in my opinion, 32:29 is the scariest part of this entire episode. The rapid eye movement and his very open mouth, combined with the absent noise scares me to my core. This episode was so good.
Okay so here's interpretation of this volume 1. Jude, just like how Judas betrayed Jesus somehow betrayed his family to the alternates which is what the man on the other line of the phone referred to. 2. The Thatcher that appears in this video is an alternate. 3. Jude had an overdose on the pills and hallucinated the alternate that took Adam and caused Lynn to sewerslide along with the other disturbing imagery. 4. In the claymations, the Lamb represents Adam and specifically his future version we see in Vol. 2, The Farmer represents Lynn and the Shephard (the one who's actually chained up, not Jesus) represents Jude.
Good observations. I only disagree with #2. Thatcher's encounter with the alternate happens at the police station after he leaves Weaver behind at the Murray home. At this point I think he was just a cop enforcing the TDA, 2 weeks after his promotion to Lt.

That is chilling and relatable. Christians lots of times like mark feel in doubt about many things like if god exists and such. The line “who have I been praying to” could be a well description of this.
It's been a while since I literally have had to look away from the screen while watching one of these, the visuals were so well done and spooky. I love how little elements from past scares have returned scarier. Really tall bendy figures, stark white sclera on a pitch black background, the hanged bodies. Very well done all around.
I truly did not Jude coming back, the fact he ran away is an exact parallel to Thatcher. Now they both sit alone tortured by the demons of the past. Bravo Alex.
I love how simple this episode is, the lore on the last 2 volumes has been really tough to digest, but this one manages to be simple and scare at the same time. It's just Jude being tormented by the alternates, and the lamb being replaced by an alternate makes me wonder if the human adam would have been a saviour.
alex, i truly think this is a perfect balance between the first two and last two volumes. wonderful use of various media, and elicits the same dread i felt with the first two volumes. excellent work from you and the team.
I love the way the final chase scene is done, the way the music changes to this distorted piano sound. It makes it feel like reality is warping around the alternate and really sells that alternates are creatures from another realm. Extremely well done
So I think I have this right in time placement wise. This is either right after Adam and the wife incident or a few months or weeks after. Jude (Adam’s father) was put in witness protection after his wife was murder and his kid taken (since probably people thought he was behind it). He had a friend who’d take him out of state but I believe his own anxiety got in the way hence the anxiety commercials and pills. The cartoon of the Shepard represents not only what happened after to the shepherd earlier in the Gabriel video scenes we’ve seen before, but it also represents Jude currently. Jude is the shepherd that the alternates manipulated, Adam is the lamb that was killed and replaced, and the farmer is Lynn who asked him to come back for her and Adam that same day she was killed. The alternate we see now is N who can apparently taken on a variety of different forms and possible also impersonated the officer Davis we saw in this vid since he seemed a tad off. If I missed anything feel free to correct me
I think part of this whole narrative, as referenced by the announcement by the Temporal Agency at the beginning is that time is sort of messed up. So I think that is why things seem out of order.

Nice to know N is part of the non-aggressive but observant alternates! Had all of us wanting more, for real, out of jokes and stuff... Alex, My best friend introduced me to this series when volume 3 came out and he sadly passed away last year. He would be amazed to see how far the story has gone and how much has changed. Keep up the great work, I keep this shit close to my heart.
Artistically disturbing. It is extremely gratifying to see a production at this level in analog horror media. It is an extremely deep psychological horror story that does not use futile and artificial tricks to create an essenceless terror. Here, the terror is built in stages, it is slow and delightful to follow where, in its climax moments, it leaves you euphoric and completely terrified. This is a totally believable story, that's what makes it even more terrifying, frustration, depression, loneliness, longing, mystery, are some of the nuances I can glean from what I saw. And yes... That's how real horror is made. I really hope that the next volumes don't tend to reproduce what was done here, as it is unique and different from the others. It is truly a polished jewel, Alex Kister's greatest production and also the best work in technical and substantial aspects in an Analog Horror medium.

You know, while i like 4 and everything that came after it, this is a major improvement. I was genuinely startled and creeped out several times, like a jumpscare feeling except none of the scares were cheap tricks like loud noises or someone jumping out of nowhere. That's the mark of a good scare in my book. I hope he keeps this energy going forward, so good.

From what I’ve got for now, I believe Jude may have taken too many of his prescription pills and is hallucinating encounters with alternates. It is likely he is infected with M.A.D., from what I know. Given the scene at the end, where we only see Jude, it seems the alternates he is seeing aren’t really there. I’ll edit this tomorrow and add more on my interpretation and my theories.

As someone who grew up with many beloved claymation animations that were prominent throughout late 80s/early 90s, this particular episode really sucked me in. And holy shit at…THAT…scene with Gabriel, horrified me in ways I never felt before in such a nostalgic art form 😱 this is such fantastic work and many praise be to all whom worked so hard on this project! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Bravo Alex~💐

This is my favourite episode so far, the claymation, the way the episode plays out and just how chilling it was, and also Jude getting endlessly tormented. "Jude its time for your prescription pills!" "Yes.. Alternate"
One thing I noticed with the thumbnails for each volume is that in the first four there's always an alternate. In vol. 1 there's a normal guy to the left and his alternate on the right, in vol. 2 there's Adam and Jonah, Adam is an Alternate. In vol. 3 there's just the alternate, and in vol. 4 there's Thatcher Davis and his alternate, but in vol. 5 there's no alternate in the thumbnail. Isn't it implied that there is no alternate in vol. 5 and it's just Jude's medication? I might be mistaken.
I have another theory, The Yonder Wanderer (the allucination of Jude), is Adam: in Vol.2 we know at the end the TV man reveals some things of his, then in Vol.4 he was revealed by the intruder that he is an alternate, then in Catalyst and Presto he (maybe) tries to hit the YOU SHOULD KY_ NOW but survives and even interviewed by an Police Officer so in Vol.5 we maybe assume they let him free after the interview, and why I say it’s him? The hair, and the face, both have a elongated face and like a mix of curly and straight hair? But I’m sure it’s him who came from revenge

We have never gotten a close up like this. Dread was the best way to put this. When "thatcher" came at the door it gave me chills! Amazing job 100% worth the wait. I was scared a side story was going to bore me on not interest me. But this was just as apealing as the main story. Dont be scared to keep experimenting like this.
I love the connection between the events with Jude and the events with the Shepherd. The Shepherd had one of his lambs made isn't something new by Angel Gabriel. The Shepherd was then led away by (what I have to assume) is a follower of Gabriel, and killed. Jude, just like the Shepherd, had one of his children (his lamb) made into something new by Gabriel. And he was later led to death because of it. Also! Both Jude and the Shepherd searched for forgiveness (The Shepherd prayed for it, and Jude tried to run for start a new life) Super cool stuff. Love the symbolism, love this series so so much.
31:35 is so fucking terrifying. just seeing some creepy weird unholy beast in your room as you cry for help is scary to me. i genuinely cried because he didn't have anyone or anything to help him. he was all alone just by himself. and the shepherd scenes were deep. he is bound to chains on his legs and now it kinda makes sense as the same is stated in overthrone. it looks like a connection to it. i have alot to talk about this volume. i loved it. Okay so here's interpretation of this volume
1. Jude, just like how Judas betrayed Jesus somehow betrayed his family to the alternates which is what the man on the other line of the phone referred to.
2. The Thatcher that appears in this video is an alternate.
3. Jude had an overdose on the pills and hallucinated the alternate that took Adam and caused Lynn to sewerslide along with the other disturbing imagery.
4. In the claymations, the Lamb represents Adam and specifically his future version we see in Vol. 2, The Farmer represents Lynn and the Shephard (the one who's actually chained up, not Jesus) represents Jude.

It's been a while since I literally have had to look away from the screen while watching one of these, the visuals were so well done and spooky. I love how little elements from past scares have returned scarier. Really tall bendy figures, stark white sclera on a pitch black background, the hanged bodies. Very well done all around.

I love how simple this episode is, the lore on the last 2 volumes has been really tough to digest, but this one manages to be simple and scare at the same time. I love the way the final chase scene is done, the way the music changes to this distorted piano sound. It makes it feel like reality is warping around the alternate and really sells that alternates are creatures from another realm. Extremely well done
So I think I have this right in time placement wise. This is either right after Adam and the wife incident or a few months or weeks after. Jude (Adam’s father) was put in witness protection after his wife was murder and his kid taken (since probably people thought he was behind it). He had a friend who’d take him out of state but I believe his own anxiety got in the way hence the anxiety commercials and pills. The cartoon of the Shepard represents not only what happened after to the shepherd earlier in the Gabriel video scenes we’ve seen before, but it also represents Jude currently. Jude is the shepherd that the alternates manipulated, Adam is the lamb that was killed and replaced, and the farmer is Lynn who asked him to come back for her and Adam that same day she was killed. The alternate we see now is N who can apparently taken on a variety of different forms and possible also impersonated the officer Davis we saw in this vid since he seemed a tad off. If I missed anything feel free to correct me

I think part of this whole narrative, as referenced by the announcement by the Temporal Agency at the beginning is that time is sort of messed up. So I think that is why things seem out of order.

My best friend introduced me to this series when volume 3 came out and he sadly passed away last year. He would be amazed to see how far the story has gone and how much has changed. Keep up the great work, I keep this shit close to my heart.
Artistically disturbing.
It is extremely gratifying to see a production at this level in analog horror media. It is an extremely deep psychological horror story that does not use futile and artificial tricks to create an essenceless terror. Here, the terror is built in stages, it is slow and delightful to follow where, in its climax moments, it leaves you euphoric and completely terrified. This is a totally believable story, that's what makes it even more terrifying, frustration, depression, loneliness, longing, mystery, are some of the nuances I can glean from what I saw. And yes... That's how real horror is made.
I really hope that the next volumes don't tend to reproduce what was done here, as it is unique and different from the others. It is truly a polished jewel, Alex Kister's greatest production and also the best work in technical and substantial aspects in an Analog Horror medium.

It is likely he is infected with M.A.D., from what I know. Given the scene at the end, where we only see Jude, it seems the alternates he is seeing aren’t really there.
I’ll edit this tomorrow and add more on my interpretation and my theories.

In vol. 1 there's a normal guy to the left and his alternate on the right, in vol. 2 there's Adam and Jonah, Adam is an Alternate.
In vol. 3 there's just the alternate, and in vol. 4 there's Thatcher Davis and his alternate, but in vol. 5 there's no alternate in the thumbnail.
Isn't it implied that there is no alternate in vol. 5 and it's just Jude's medication? I might be mistaken.

We have never gotten a close up like this. Dread was the best way to put this. When "thatcher" came at the door it gave me chills! Amazing job 100% worth the wait. I was scared a side story was going to bore me on not interest me. But this was just as apealing as the main story. Dont be scared to keep experimenting like this.

I love the connection between the events with Jude and the events with the Shepherd. The Shepherd had one of his lambs made isn't something new by Angel Gabriel. The Shepherd was then led away by (what I have to assume) is a follower of Gabriel, and killed.
Jude, just like the Shepherd, had one of his children (his lamb) made into something new by Gabriel. And he was later led to death because of it.
Also! Both Jude and the Shepherd searched for forgiveness (The Shepherd prayed for it, and Jude tried to run for start a new life)
Super cool stuff. Love the symbolism, love this series so so much.
31:35 is so fucking terrifying. just seeing some creepy weird unholy beast in your room as you cry for help is scary to me. i genuinely cried because he didn't have anyone or anything to help him. he was all alone just by himself. and the shepherd scenes were deep. he is bound to chains on his legs and now it kinda makes sense as the same is stated in overthrone. it looks like a connection to it. i have alot to talk about this volume. i loved it. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ALEX KISTER NO MATTER WHAT I'LL KEEP SUPPORTING YOU.
