The premiere of the official release date trailer for Black Myth: Wukong took place at The Game Awards 2023. The trailer showcased PC-captured footage, including actual gameplay and in-game cinematics, while supporting 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos.
The trailer featured here holds a few surprises not seen in the TGA version. Take a closer look and see what's new.

The best showing at the game awards 2023 in my opinion. The monster designs are so amazing. I am eager to delve into Chinese mythology via a game. So realistic. Impressive use of lighting from UE5. Smooth animations. Detailed battle with impressive enemy movesets and battle designs. This is GOTY.
I find it just hilarious that every trailer has a comment saying "this is clearly the best one" thanks for making my morning a little better.

An interesting thing is that every previous trailer of Black Myth Wukong was released on August 20, and they finally decided to officially release the game on this day in 2024. In fact, August 20th is the birthday of the Wukong in Chinese folklore, and many people will worship the Fighting Victory Buddha (Wukong's dharma name) on this day.
And 2024 is dragon year for Chinese! Chinese dragon means a lot for Chinese people

Been watching out for you guys for a while now I am so impressed with this project. I am a huge Dragon Ball fan and read all the manga volumes and looked into the story called a Journey to the West and the main character Sun Wukong. This single character has inspired so many anime and manga authors. I am so happy and excited to witness a video game all about the legend himself. His abilities are so amazing and they deserved a video game! I hope this will showcase everything he can do and what his story really meant in the book. In the story Sun was very cocky and kind of rude and I cant wait to see how he is portrayed in your game. I hope there will be a collector's edition! Congrats to your 2024 launch blessings to you and your families!!!
Although I also like the cartoon Dragon Ball, Japanese adaptation of the Monkey King is very big, and it is not the real the Monkey King.The real the Monkey King is not a child or a super Saiyan, and the black myth Wukong has been restored better.

Hope for a good subtitle option, one that actually translate every speech, and not just story related ones. Because I would prefer to set the voice to chinese, even though I don't understand it, but it's more immersive to me.
The English script for this trailer isn't just a direct translation of the Chinese version; it's been rewritten with some slight changes. So I think we may anticipate mismatches between the English subtitles and the Chinese dubbing if thats an option in the actual game.
I'm glad Journey to the West and Sun Wukong are getting more attentions and love in gaming! The gameplay, graphics and music are so good! This game definitely deserves to be GOTY aka Game of the Year since Sun Wukong is the GOAT aka Greatest of All Time!

I just learned about this game today. Props to those who’ve waited years for this. I’m a huge fan of the Japanese anime Monkey Magic (who remembers that on UPN?), which is based on Journey to the West. I’m excited to play this!

I hope the developers of this game read my comment. I see a difference in gameplay between the teaser for the snow map and the trailer. The kind of game which usually wins goty. Boss fight focused challenging gameplay with great combat mechanics. Plus the variety of bosses gives this game an edge. Sort of like a mix between elden ring and sekiro bosses
