So I just watched the 102 rapid fire questions with Corey and Game Informer and after he said he is issuing a challenge for anyone to try to beat it in 2 hours, I looked to see who was the fastest.. still. 4 hours is still impressive as hell.

Well mine is 3:42:37 in give me god of war difficulty it was really annoying caz I was trying to do less than 4 hours and I completed the game 7 times till I got that time

Just restarted the game for like the tenth time and completed it in about 1 day I started yesterday at like 4:00 pm and just finished it today at around 6:50
yoooooo i found your video teaching how to agile dash and i wondered if anyone has done a speed run of this game, surprise surprise lol. ps. i figured out how to do it, it just took a little playing around with.
It goes to show how much of a movie this game really is. It's 10% gameplay, around 15% of walking and 75% cutscenes/events/talking/waiting in general No wonder why David Jaffe is such a dork.
1. that's not fair because most of the combat in the speedrun is super optimized to take only a few seconds per encounter. most of the gameplay is in the optional content, which you will have to do most of to prepare for ng+. there's more than enough "game" in GOW4 2. regarding the speedrun, something like monster hunter world is not a game you would call movielike but the speedrun is only like 5% combat. it's just how these games were designed 3. jaffe didn't make this game lol
@@ramp8536 He did make it, in an interview the producers said they were embarrassed of him having anything to do with the game so they deleted his name from the credits. Combat isn't all there is to gameplay, ther's a lot of games with optimized combat and platforming that still is a bigger part that cutscenes. I am sure that if the cutscenes were skippable and we were only left with the scripted events which are pretty much cutscenes the gameplay % still would be pretty low.
Though a speedrun is impressive, brag about how lengthy it was for you, for you took your time and enjoyed as much of the games detail that you could. It is a work of art afterall.
Not sure of your meaning behind this, but I have played this game more than most people in the world and would agree it is a work of art. I only started speedrunning because I enjoyed the game so much and wanted a reason to play it more. I would be surprised if there is anyone with more hours invested in this game than me.
Roll cancel into agile strike is how I move around in my everyday life. I wake up and roll cancel into agile strike every day to every destination of mine.
@@beardofwar I stopped wearing shoes after the incident… I roll cancelled too fast one day and they caught in flames, burning my shoes to a crisp. Ever since that day, I’ve worn my super Mario crocs, which are fireproof.
I love this game. The only part i was not too keen on was The Light of Alfheim. This part kinda bored me... I'm not sure if it was boring or just not as good as the other parts of the game (the are very good) and this made it seem "boring". Anyway, one of the better games to have come out over the past few years.
For all of you who think he beat the game in this amount of time you are wrong this is the end game for like the 100th time on easy lol. This isn't the first run of playing the game. Just to clarify cuz my mans @clowned187 will let you believe so lol.

Learning enemy spawns and agile strike (movement tech) are the main things I would suggest. Knowing where enemies spawn and which ones you can just run past can save a lot of time. The rest is just practice and k owing the fights.

Do you think it would be worth actually working on getting it done in this amount of time but on GMGOW and uploading that?
I'm assuming you are talking about "agile strike running" there is a tutorial on my channel showing exactly how. If you're just interested in how to get the shockwave on certain moves, it is a skill you get if you have 300 plus defense.

It's the amulet of kvasir. You get it in alfheim on the side area to the right when you enter the main part of the lake there. It is actually a talisman but in new game plus you can upgrade it all the way and trade it into the blacksmiths for an enchantment that does the same thing.
@@Progalaxy34. if you already have the Zeus set and want to get good with the timing I would upgrade the talisman first so you can trade/craft the enchantment, then it will free up your talisman spot for something better. And the difference is one is an actual talisman but once you upgrade it you are able to use it to craft it into an enchantment that has the exact same function as the talisman and better stats.
I forgot but I have the Zeus gauntlets and idk how to get the other 2, do I finish the last valk for them both or do I get one and there is a finally valk I need to fight?
What are you controller / camera sensitivity / aim sensitivity / aim assist settings etc? Just got a game console for the first time and having hard time with controller... always been PC gamer lol
Aim assist and enemy lock-on are off and all sensitivity are at 10 (max). if you aren't super used to controller than I would suggest starting at 6-7 for sensitivity and feeling it out. Aim assist is up to you, but the game plays better without enemy lock-on since the game has innate enemy lock when you are in combat.
i haven't watched to that part yet, but he has the Game + version of this you may have the normal GoW, don't get me wrong I'm no expert I've actually not played the game but i think that's the case
My best casual record was 3 days which included normal human activities and you have the sheld from beating gow on gow mode nice i obtained them in my "casual" speed run noice

Couldn't tell you what the enchants are since its been so long, besides most of the "Perfect Mark" ones. The grips are Valkyrie grips and Axe is the Versatile Handle.
New game plus only enemies that are hard are the Valkyries. So if start on hardest difficulty it would be the best way to become better. But reality it's not balanced. But still great game.

you know the game was made well when an any% soeedrun takes 4 hours instead of the normal 30 or 40 minutes. near no major glitches or exploits to use.

Under the accesibility options you can change the chisel input from precision to one button mode.

You would need to be streaming/recording through a PC and use one of the split applications ( I use Livesplit)

It's on "give me story" difficulty.
He put it on the easiest mode and Game Breaker god beat the game in 5 hours and he did the hardest mode Give Me a GOD OF WAR
If you read the description you can see the "Give Me God of War" record, which is 4 hours 14 minutes.
Just finished the game in 1 day and I thought that was ridiculously fast, oh well...
