Nakamura's attack frequency is so freaking high in his match against Nagayama
I love the pace that he was setting and making Nagayama play defense for most of the game
Really fun judo to watch overall

Allways impressed to see many basic techniques, performed to perfection... and ippon.

i think abe is clearly the better judoka, but tanaka vs takeoka is going to be wild in the future

3:18 First contact is the sholder, and then a bit on the side = Waza-ari.

It's interesting you said that "A lot of Japanese judokas don't compete internationally because they struggle financially..." How so.... Japan being one of the wealthiest nations on Earth? Unlike in the USA, to train Judo in Japan is absolutely free of charge. What gives?

Japanese judoka are wealthy, especially at the top level. But the All Japan Judo Federation doesn’t have a lot of money since Covid. They lost a lot of sponsorships and haven’t really recovered. The problem isn’t at the individual level, it’s an organizational problem

At 1:43 I can see Nagayama 's opponent with both his feet raised from the ground. I can't understand how Nagayama could obtain this with a horizontal traction. It's not the first time I see something like this. I have been practicing judo for years, and still I don't understand how to do this preparatory movement.

6:26 This is what I believe should change, I understand that our sport is full of tradition but let the man celebrate at least until the opponent stands up. I think everybody should have the right to have 5 seconds to themselves after a win. Idk what are your opinions?

    永山選手は己の能力を過信しすぎて無鉄砲に無防備で攻撃態勢を取り過ぎる、『攻撃は最大の防御』は細心の備えの下に在るべき、勿体ない限り。
