A CRAZY Day JUNK Fishing Lake Apopka!! The Harris Chain of Lakes!!

- It’s November and I’m back on the Chain! Lake Apopka! The plan was to look for offshore cover and fish what the conditions dictated. I found some brush off shore and fished that but no bites. I hit the bank next and caught several flipping. I went back to the piles when the sun got higher and caught a few on a Dropshot. Finally, picked up the chatterbait and ran the shallows picking up several more. I caught several odd fish along the way that were quite the surprise!! A day on Apopka like no other!!

My first time on Apopka was about a month ago, and I was getting ready to drop in at Magnolia when a local told me the water was too shallow for my BassCat Cougar. So I thanked him and went to my second choice in the Dora Apopka Canal. Unfortunately Hummingbird and Lakemaster has yet to release a version of their mapping software for that lake. So I was afraid to run the lake because it seemed to me it was all 2 feet or less where the canal dumps into the lake. I always enjoy your videos, you are very informative. David
Was out there probably the day before you. Hit some of the same offshore spots and all we could get to bite were dinks. Went inside and tried some flipping. Using creature style baits got the same result as you. Finally found a 30 yard strip where bigger bass were stacked up. Got three over 5#.
We did match your mudfish but those tilapia were ridiculous.
The day we were there had lots of boats out there, a few were wrapped. Prefishing for the MLF event
