I don't believe they did. I find no evidence of the commission saying they denied it. Just Tyson saying he hasn't heard from them as of 3 days ago. Of the media members that reached out for comment from the Texas commission, it appears they have either not heard back on the topic or ... They haven't updated for us for some reason? I'm sure these guys had no intention of this being a full on boxing match. Uncle Chael is just stirring the pot.

Lots of people unfortunately.... The Internet is an amazing thing. It really shows how easy it is to manipulate the masses on simple things. I know so many people in my personal life that think it's "real" and that Mike Tyson is going to absolutely destroy Jake Paul. For me, exhibition means the fighters are not trying to knock each other out. Throwing punches at 50%. A lot like sparring. It really does change everything. Knockouts being my favorite aspect of fighting. I have zero interest now in the tyson fight. If they were going to actually fight, I would've already tried to buy it.
It might just be as simple as, Mike is 57 fighting a 27 year old. Thats probably the bottom line of why it isnt sanctioned. And I do agree, once the word "exhibition" gets thrown in there, its really hard to sell it as a legit fight.

Do you think it has anything to do with their promoter's license? If both parties operate under two separate licenses but one isn't up to date but deserves credit and pay etc for contractual reasons maybe that has something to do with it?
Not sure if that's the case where it's being held, but where I live you have to have the right valid and up-to-date license to be sanctioned. Could there also be another possibility that a license may not be the right valid license, or up-to-date and can't be corrected until days after the scheduled fight?

I told you yesterday the first person I heard say it was Mike in an interview on fox. The interviewer kind of half realed away until Mike said the only thing exhibition about the fight is in name sake. He said he was going to try to tear Paul's head off. No pillow gloves no headgear nothing. The only thing exhibition about the fight is the word exhibition. Because he knew why the announcer looked sideways. When you hear exhibition you think sparring with maximum safety gear.

Mike hasn't showed a single clip of him training with a sweaty shirt from working hard. That's when I knew this was a sham. Yes his padwork looks great, but how long can he keep that pace? I see him gassing out within 2 rounds. TRT can only perform so much magic before age takes over. Mike closes the distance and Jake clinches with him over and over and over. Thats how the fight will go.

This fight is very interesting. We are witnessing the matching up of two men on opposite ends of the bell curve. These two men have exactly opposite strengths and weaknesses. It's sad to see so many ageist comments. Ageism is as WRONG as racism. Both of these men are highly intelligent in their own ways. Both of these men have the capability of killing the other, and that is not something that anyone should want to see. Personally, I am very happy that this is an exhibition encounter, and I hope it is a good, entertaining match for all of us spectators, and a good payday for the fighters, promoters, producers and everyone involved.

But what the OG poster is saying is he continues to fight older retired men. He's had 1 fight that most would consider legitimate and that was against Tommy Fury. The last two boxing matches the guys were all but retired, having not fought in numerous years. They once, were "pro" but still old and out of the game for a long period of time. That doesn't exactly help Jake Paul and his legitimacy. There are plenty of young fighters with similar records/experience that he could fight but he doesn't for a reason.
