Dude finally. More of this long format. Not this Tik Tok type stuff. Edit: Thanks for all the upvotes. This is my first UA-cam comment to take off like that. Thanks guys. And may the tiktokification of media be combated. I'm fed up with vapid lip-syncing videos. I want to learn new stuff! Keep it coming.
You are part of the reason why I play guitar rn I am just a little 14 year old and I just started playing march of last year. I watched a lot of your short form content and long form to. You and your amazing content has really helped me figure out how to get tones and like what gear sounds good or not. So thank you for inspiring me sir
I still have my beautiful solid Metallic Midnight Blue Fender Toronado, picked it up in 2005. The Fender Toronado was introduced at the NAMM Show in 1998, it is a part of the "Deluxe Series" of Fenders produced in Mexico, generally to higher specs than most "Standard" models. The Toronado features two Fender Atomic humbucking pickups, a rosewood fretboard, and four chrome knobs (2 volume and 2 tone). Many models also include a tortoise-shell pickguard. The headstock features the Fender "spaghetti" logo and sports vintage style Gotoh/Kluson tuners. The body shape shadows the designs of Fender's Jazzmaster and Jaguar guitars. The Toronado also has a 24.75" scale length-an unusual feature on a Fender guitar, as this scale length is usually associated with electric guitars manufactured by Gibson.
Hey Mikey; in 2018 i was building a Hybrid Strat, documented it on Facebook, and in December 2018, Fender put out their Hybrid parallel universe or whatever Hybrid Strat... so you are welcome, but i took my inspiration from an ESP Guitar called The Hybrid 1. The Hybrid ESP guitars are in a few numbered models, but the 1 is a Hybrid, Strat which is Strat body, Tele electronics, but the 1 has a Japanese Flicka Tremolo, and i first saw one in a video of Tina Turner, one of the Guitar Players was pkaying one, i love Strats so much, and tremolos together that that is me all day. I decided to build my own because i could not find one, i made a shell pink one, no trem... Then i found the ESP with a Trem, and i started a 3rd no trem because i had the part, but due to some issues with a crazy situation i have not finished it yet....
@@ButterDawgDawgWitDaBudda Except you did not document it for almost a year on Facebook only to have Fender release one at the end of the year, also I hope you realize I am pretty much joking and if you read what I wrote I took inspiration from an ESP Guitar I saw on a video, and I think if I remember correctly I spent a lot of time blowing up pics to find the name on the headstock and now I also have one of those, also you should know I love Fender so dude go mess with someone else I am just telling a cool story that actually happened, plus my build cost $550.00 or so Fenders was $1800.00 which I will not pay for a guitar unless it is vintage, my '66 Epiphone Dwight Coronet cost me $1750.00 that is how you do it!, and then I can tell a story, that clearly got you going... I was just relating to Mikeys Guitar, and had an actual story to tell about it...anyway relax baby...
1:59 is that a swiffer? i usually use canned air to get the dust under my strings but as expensive as it is i'd rather do what you're doing there, if its not a swiffer can you tell me the name of what that product is so i can find one ? thanks , really digging the longform content
Correction: Thurston Moore is more of a Jazzmaster guy as aposed to the Jaguar, but I get what you mean if we're talking offset Fender's in general. The Jaguar was made after the Jazzmaster with a lot of similarities, but many differences as well to give it a sound suitable for surf rock. :)
Hey just so you know, theres a channel called ScaleScandals that is copying one of your videos. It is the one about the different sounds of fender guitars. They have like 3 shorts and so far only one is yours
actually the jaguar was supposed to be a second wind for the jazzmaster, I'd argue that it was one of the more successful considering the popularization of surf-rock around that time
I love your videos they are so funny and I love you guitar facts I play metal and rock music and your videos have helped me learn a lot about guitar cause I have only been playing since august and I love your Kurt cobain videos and shorts
This is an excellent video, but please make sure you have good ventilation when you’re melting that plastic! I want to see you keep making videos for a long time.
D'Aquisito sounds like D'Angelico because they were both last names of famous luthiers. D'Aquisito was D'Angelico's student and successor, and as one of the world's best luthiers, the fender D'Aquisito was based off his designs.
I think that mac os is not touch compatible, because making all of the apps ui touch conpatible would be a huge pain in the ass and also a huge inconvenience for most of the apple power users, that do not need touch capabilites and want to fit as much as possible content to the screen.
3 bolt neckplate actually, was more expensive to make, bro.. they had to cut a cilinder in the neck pocket (extra job), put a metal cilinder (extra money) for the 4th screw which is a microtilt adjustment - more complicated and the cilinder + small screw are extra costs and more componants.. right?
Funny you should mention the fender swinger, due to that guitar and the swinger sticker, I vowed to never buy another fender after an absolutely disgusting experience with fmic customer service that resulted in me cancelling a then two more guitar orders from them and selling my other fenders. especially after they were trying to grill me on where i purchased their guitar and trying to shutdown an independent importer. absolutely disgusting.
Day 48938 of asking for a gear collection video. But seriously youre my favorite youtuber. Serious inspiration. Youre awesome man and keep up the work.
i think fenders pricing on their guitars is outrageous i bought a mexican strat for 500 2 years ago now they are nearly 900 on the store its insane at that point id just build a partscaster which is another great thing about fender today is that their guitars are customizable with novice soldering or maintenence skill
You realize fender had to pay more for the wood and stuff to build it? Its the economy, not the brand being greedy. Everything is more expensive now. And its not their fault that we still pay those prices.
You think the Tele start has that abnormal snap because of the amount of wood? Because it may have a different kind of wood or a different amount of the same wood.

Fender didnt see your idea. So they didnt steal it
@@Ottophil yeah they did
That should mean I also stole your idea at the age of 12 because I wanted a "stratocaster but telecaster bridge, pickups and neck" on it.

Can you go into more detail about what you did with the ghost pickup strat? It looks very interesting and I am very curious (what are ghost pickups?)
Wait, what was wrong with the Bullet Truss-rod? I'm thinking of getting a Squire Tele Deluxe but what if it has a Bullet Truss-rod?

8:23 the onlt starcaster I know is the tom delonge starcaster!😂
Playing an ES-339 rn, that starcaster is the dream
I have the contemporary squier version and it's great one of the originals would be fantastic
You would like bobby Caldwell self titled album, or whichever one has 'what you won't do for love'
Which is why I only have jacksons
The tele strat is extremely cursed
Third. And, I don’t think SRV would have disapproved of your guitar, Mikey.
I know about the Starcaster but mostly bc I'm a hollowbody nerd and want one of the Classic Vibe from Squier
3:40 what.. those were both thin and tinny one is just muddier
no more shorts man
You should mod your jaguar to Kurt cobain specs
Honestly I'd take a jag over a tele or strat any day. Jag trems are infinitely better than strat style IMO
