    I love that eyeshadow pallet! I just bought 2 Chantecaille products. I received the hummingbird quad in warm and loved it so much, I immediately bought the hummingbird quad in cool. The packaging was beautiful on what I got, but I follow another beauty UA-camr, and she bought a compact that was white and had flowers all over it and it was just junk. The sad thing is that in Europe/France, it’s against the law to take back makeup once you’ve bought it. Then last night, I purchased the Leopard eyeshadow from Chantecaille. Tomorrow, the Westman Atelier nude lipstick pallet comes out. I’ve been wanting it for so long and waiting for it to become available. In the meantime, I purchased 2 Guerlain lipstick holders and I purchased a lipstick last night to go in one of them. My husband bought me a Guerlain lipstick holder and lipstick for Valentines, so I’m not counting that. I hope I don’t come off as bragging, bc credit card debt is nothing to brag about. Makeup is just a huge weakness of mine. I literally could look at it all day long. I wish I could work and make my own money, but I have a 2 year old and 4 other much older children. The crazy thing is that I hardly ever go anywhere and so I don’t use my makeup. Im just not the type of person to put on makeup so I can sit at home all day. I’ve just recently started getting into and learning about makeup and the brushes r so expensive. One good thing is that if u buy good quality brushes and take care of them correctly, they should last for many years.

      I'm so glad you love it Amber! You are always welcome to share your makeup purchases here! Everyone has different amounts of spending money and I don't recommend spending over budget but you shouldn't feel guilty about what you can afford. Whether you are in a paid position or not right now, raising children and taking care of your family is a lot of work and you deserve it so don't discount your worth and the value of the joy you get from makeup. It took me a long time to learn that lesson! I'm so glad you are making purchases that you enjoy! Have a great day!

    Thank you for another detailed brush video! So many brushes! I picked up the Sonia G. Yakusugi set, I like mine, the hair is nice, but I saw someone comparing old Hakuhodo Saikoho brushes from a long time ago to the cheek brush with modern Saibikoho, the hairs looked similar! Whoever owns those old goat brushes are so lucky!

    • @LexiJong
      @LexiJong  3 роки тому

      Yes! You can pick up some ancient goat hair brushes from Koyomo (FudeBeauty has them or you can order at FudeJapan). They have different price points but I ordered a few to try out from the lower tier and they are so soft!

    Thanks for the video, Lexi! I was able to snag them ALL… my bank account is screaming at me! Don’t know if I’ll ever use the Sonia G. But the LNY brush for the pig is different for the re-release. Instead of the matte handle it’s a lacquered/shiny like the rest. A bit disappointed. Wanted more differences between year to year. But I still want them all. 😂

    I did order the Beautylish LNY Tiger brush because I wanted a squirrel powder brush and thought $125 was a good price. I enjoy cats but that mouse and flower design is sooo cute! I hope the quality of this brush is good being we don't know the manufacturer behind it. Thanks and have a great week, Lexi!

    As usual thank you for your in depth coverage Lexi! I struggle to apply the Byredo eyeshadows - as you say natural brushes don’t do the trick and I really don’t enjoy using my fingers- small lid space + larger fingers does not equal a good look or experience. .Those Byredo brushes look like they fit the bill perfectly - I hope they get to North America soon!

    Hi Lexi. I have many of the Sonja G Sky series in blue. Can you tell me what the difference is between the Sonja G red brushes (the two types with the wide handles and the tapered handles) and the blue brushes. From what I see, they all use both the dyed and undyed saikoho goat hair. And I see some of the red brushes are a combination of goat and synthetic. Is there an easy answer? Thanks!

    • @LexiJong
      @LexiJong  3 роки тому +1

      There are a few different collections with the red handles. Her original brushes had a red barrel style handle. Then she came out with the pro series that has the tapered handle and these are very similar to the sky series but the shapes are a little different. The most recent set of red handle brushes was the fusion series which is intended specifically for cream products and anything really - they are the ones that are a mix of undyed goat hair and two types of synthetic fibers. Aside from the fusion brushes, her red and blue handle brushes are the same materials but just different shapes (and colors). The blue eye brushes are supposed to be a bit easier to use for hooded eyes but both series have great brushes that are in my favorites. These brushes are undyed or dyed goat hair or a mix of the two in certain brushes. I hope this helps Janet!

    Was hoping to hear something about the Chikuhodo P-8. How are you liking it?

    • @LexiJong
      @LexiJong  3 роки тому +1

      I really like the P8 but I use it pretty exclusively for loose powder. It's a great brush but it is hard to call it a must have because of its limited functionality for me. I'm very happy to have it and love using it. I think people who are into fude brushes will enjoy it but those looking for brushes to fit a certain purpose will be able to find something they enjoy that is less expensive.

      @@LexiJong Oops - meant to post to your 2021 favorite brush video. Anyhoo, is there another soft brush that you would recommend for light application of powder? I tend to overdo it. Thanks for getting back to me :)

    I’m interested between the year of the rat or the year of the ox… I know they have slightly different brush heads, the rat being a bit more dome shaped and less flared. Do you find that the difference is noticeable? I’m curious. I have pretty much every Chikuhodo squirrel powder brush along with other lines (kyureido, Hakuhodo, Koyudo etc) and just love to add to my collection. They are such a great price and are too adorable and seem to be of great quality.

    • @LexiJong
      @LexiJong  3 роки тому +1

      They are essentially the same brush and Beautylish has said that any differences between the brush heads is really just because they are handmade. I notice a slight difference between my brushes but it does not change the function of either brush at all. They are really adorable. I wish you luck! I have them compared in my video last year when the Ox brush came out. If you check out this video around the 15:30 mark, you will see them side by side. ua-cam.com/video/enBgsAED_DY/v-deo.html

      Hi Lexi! Thank you for another great brush video. Congrats on getting the Sonia G bushes - which apparently sold out within minutes. Do you ever intend to use them in a video? The Byredo brushes are quite interesting to me; and my question for you is: how do the eye brushes perform with shades that require fingertip application to minimize fallout and maximize pigment deposit, such as Pat Mcgrath astral shades? Thank you
