@@johnharperphotographyuk I would be very happy to see more and more, but do not put yourself under pressure! Having fun with it is much more important!
Hi John. Read your blog and I’m sorry to hear that life isn’t as smooth at the moment as it should or could be. I’m the guy who accosted you and your wife at the market in Milsom street some time ago, and it was good to meet you both. I appreciate that it’s a well trodden path that one shouldn’t respond to difficult issues with those of your own, but many years ago I went through a similar experience to yours. I think at our age (!) we all know that tough issues do pass, the world turns and happiness does come around again. As my wife says when things don’t go as they should: “this too will pass” and she’s a psychologist so she should know! The human spirit is indomitable and I believe that life is a sine wave. Hope you and yours have a very fulfilling and peaceful Christmas
Hi Martin, I remember it well, thought it’s not the first time I’ve been accosted in Milsom Street, hopefully not the last. Is it wrong to enjoy being accosted? Can you ask your wife for me? Seriously, great to meet you. Life has these moments. Just seemed to pile up on me all at once. My parents passing away, a pending divorce and my soon to be ex-wife almost dying. Some of it’s an age thing, four funerals and a wedding time of life. Uncertainty is what makes life interesting, we can’t control it and it’s what creates excitement about the future. I’ve only recently learned that and many other lessons in life. Never too late to learn and all these events eventually have had a positive affect. As I said in my blog, photographers all know that there can’t be shadow without light and vice versa. Warmest Regards and a Merry Christmas.
Beautiful images, I just picked up my first Leica an M6 classic, what BW film were you shooting here? Looks OUTSTANDING and I would love to give it a go, thanks in advance.
Hi Mark. Thanks very much. It’s digital. RAW images converted to black and white. Not overly processed, I spend less than a minute on an image. High contrast because I’m exposing for the highlights. Good luck with your Leica, it’ll be your constant companion.
I just found your YT channel. Can‘t see enough of your work. Combination with the music is perfect. Thank you for sharing!❤
Thanks very much for looking Ralf. I must do more on here.
