Thank you!! I’m eager to find out how they will calculate the index for Fall 21 applicants without using a standardized exam to balance the GPA...Unless they just decide not to except any applicants who did not at least have a 3.0 For this one unique term. It must be in Normas Lee complex for them especially in light of the applicants GPA only having three semesters instead of four in order to more precisely identify the 10:-11 gd GPA.
Hi Lisa! I too am eager to see how the CSU's plan to calculate the eligibility index for Fall 2021 (and beyond). With the new decision banning the usage of SAT/ACT exams for UC campuses, I am also interested to see how the UCs and CSUs will respond. Crazy times in higher education right now!
@@annateves8944 Hi Anna, for freshmen applicants neither the CSU nor the UC will be using test scores (SAT/ACT) to determine eligibility for admission. The CSUs will be using multiple factors such as GPA, number of A-G courses, and extracurricular activities. However, each campus will determine its own supplemental factors for impacted programs. You may find more information here: www2.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/Pages/first-time-freshman-guidance.aspx For the UCs, it looks like they will look at the same factors but may consider test scores for other forms of admission (California statewide admissions guarantee). You can find more information on that here: admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/admission-requirements/freshman-requirements/
Usually the CSU is going to have Business Administration as the main major and Accounting or Accountancy will be a concentration you have to choose when applying. The concentration you choose affects admission because some have a higher gpa requirement than others.
I would check with the Health Science Department at CSU Sacramento. What I found from going into CSU Apply is the the Nursing option is available when I choose the designation of not being an international student, but the same Nursing option is no longer available when I say I am an international student. There are plenty of programs that allow for an international student to be admitted to the Nursing program.
Hello! I’m currently a junior in high school and was wondering will CSU’s require the use of sat/act scores for admissions when I apply later this year(SJSU in particular). Also how do CSU’s calculate gpa do they weight honors classes. Also for specially calculating your math gpa do they weight classes that were considered weighted at your school? Thank you very much for your help!
I went to the a CSU conference this year (2022) and San Jose State says they will not use the SAT for admission consideration. It can however be used for placement purposes after being accepted. Both the CSU and UC consider AP and Honors coursework. Essentially they consider both weighted and unweighted gpa. The term weighted is addressing the rigor of that class so yes it is considered for admissions and for English and Math placement when you get to their campus.
Great video!!
