Congrats again on the win! I always try and include issue 1's in the giveaway box, so winners can jump in if they want. Thanks for all the kinds words and CBC Awards shout out.
Ahhh Brian, I really had a TON of fun opening this and you idea to put #1's in the box is genius! I meant every word I said and our community is lucky to have you spearheading some fantastic awards! Thank you again, my friend!
Hey thanks for stopping by and checking out the video! I will test that cover because that would be hot! I also took a bit of a deep dive Into Jeffrey Veregge an dman, he was so talented. It really hit hard hearing about the tragic end of his life. I feel for his wife, his family, and adoring fans. May he rest in peace.
He really is. the kindness within this community is pretty surreal. Hope you and your bro are well and moving/buying some books, thanks as always my friend!
Luckily there’s a guy that has a comic book booth at this indoor flea market. I don’t live to far from Canada. Just hard to go across the border the visit their LCS
Wish I lived closer to where I grew up sounds like you are really involved with your community which is awesome. Brian is a fun watch. I typically don’t enter contests. Close to terrific con!! Great video my friend
I try to be, especially since my girls will eventually go to the school I did so I want them to have great opportunities and help them if I can. Brian is a fun watch and I forgot I even threw my hat into the ring with his contest but I'm glad I did. Thanks Troy and we have roughly 35 days until we get to hang!
Great video. The segment on mystery boxes hit for me. I tend to avoid them but do slip every once in a while. I actually hit on one the other day with a slab, but that probably only reinforces a bad habit - especially when trying to save for Terrificon.
Thanks so much man! Mystery boxes, yeah man. This was the first one I've bought this year because I've had to teach myself my money is better spent elsewhere, and they rarely pay off. I did get to read some new stories which I took as a win, but congrats on the slab win! And I've been there by winning once, only to lose the next few times. Thanks for watching!
@@Moncomics You nailed it. It wasn't a ton of money but I'm usually able to tell myself "That's money you could put towards something you know you want rather than gambling on a maybe." Like you said though, it does scratch an itch.
@@Rhavas yeah I gotta find other ways to scratch said itch lol. Only ones I saw that were “worth it” was a whatnot show Very Gary was doing in which there were tons of high end slabs on the wall. But after that first box went and someone took it relatively cheap, none sold for less than $300 so again at that point it’s like, I can go pick my own awesome book for that amount rather than it being random.
@Moncomics I was watching DAComics out of Buffalo and it was a Hit Parade. Every box is a slab, but some boxes had big hits. I'll definitely sat hello if I see you. I expect you'll be there all weekend?
100% agree about kids and the 4th of July holiday! All I can say is whew! I've read that vanish series and it's pretty bad ass. Check out more issued if you can. And Hagan is prob drooling over that rob liefeld capt america art. Haha😂
Yeah 4th is a marathon that has been known to wipe parents out. And I KNEW I saw that cover elsewhere and it was on Hagan’s channel talking about how abysmal it was lol
Well that was an interesting show. I have the nova book. That werewolf by night is one I might try to find. I'm working on a horror show right now. I never collected horror books until this year , starting with the rise of the midnight suns run. I think you'll really like the show when I get it together. I'm gonna take a stab at comedy with that show.
Thanks Steven. It’s a great cover. Horror is fun to collect, and comedy is something I can do in person but not really on video so good luck, you’ll probably do better than me lol
Congrats on winning the giveaway! As your local Cap Curator… you might have overpaid for that Cap & Falcon #1 😂. Feel free to flip through it but make sure you’ve had all your shots and you don’t look at it directly. I recommend welding goggles or eclipse glasses.
Some nice books and lots of good reading there! You've probably figured it out by now, but the "Donna" is Donna Troy - Wonder Girl. Also, that Joss Wheaton run in the X-Men is pretty good. Right before him, Grant Morrison took the series in all sorts of strange directions (and I loved it!) but Wheaton was brought in to reel it back in and make it more grounded again and he did a good job of that. His run wouldn't be a bad place to start reading the X-Men.
Yep, I discovered a lot more once I had them out of the box and started digging. I will definitely read that X-Men book and see if I can expand my palate. Thanks for watching dude!!
Totally my pleasure, you deserve it! That cover will be loved, I give you my word. I hope the little one is doing great and you’re getting as much sleep as possible!
Goods afternoon Brabdon Always a very great pleasure to watch you talking about comics, respecting the creators for their hard work in delivering great entertainment, Stay cool. another month brings you to terrificion, and closer to fall. best wishes to the family Cheers Al The Goldkeyfourcolorkidownunda
Thanks Alan, this was really fun but I didn’t know too many creators in that huge box of modern Brian was so kind to send. I read a little more regarding Jeffrey Verwgge and it just broke my heart. Our time here is so precious. Can’t believe Terrificon is a month away, I’m very ready for it lol. As well as fall! Family is great, weekend is here so I get to hang with them a lot. Thanks Alan and have a great day!
Hey Sal! I agree, foil books bring me back to a more innocent 90's lol. And The Peach Momoko's definitely crossed my mind to slab...can't wait to hang with you and the crew in a couple weeks!
I have 11 of the World tr33 books...I think it's a 12 issue mini-series ...hopefully someone in the comments can tell me...stay safe Brandon and congrats my friend!
Congratulations on the win Brandon. That’s allot of books to read!😂 Couldn’t happen to a better guy! So many great people in this community as you point out in all your uploads! Enjoy
I gotta check those out as I haven't had time since the video to dive into anything. I will probably do that this weekend. And now I have to check out which first appearance is in that Batman book. Thank you for the insight, Jay!
I will read that first then!! And it’s a shirt designed by my friend who cosplays Predator and took the name “Galvarino Predator.” Galvarino was a South American warrior that is said to be the inspiration for Wolverine so definitely look it up and search that name on Instagram to find my friend!!
Great haul and Brain is another great member of this awsome community.
