I haven’t seen it myself, but from what I understand, the new Minions movie is for the most part just better than expected. The minions themselves are still hated regardless (I personally don’t hate them at all). I’m willing to be the movie itself isn’t really bad.
The Minions themselves never bothered me in their source material too much. They felt a bit forced sometimes, but harmless stupid humor is just fine. My problem was how oversaturated they became, in not just those dumb Facebook memes and cringe fan content, but all the commercials too.
