I am thoroughly impressed with the features of this robot. Idk why it isn’t being talked about more but it really does have the most features on the market. In the future, I would love to see two integrated upgrades. 1. The docking station to be a dehumidifier and air purifier so that the robot can be ran off recycled water. 2. The ability to connect it to a drain to enable self emptying of the dirty water to make the robot completely automated. I really do hope the robot’s features are able to deliver as I am really looking forward to this robot!
I'll probably never afford something like this but just came here to stay this is freaking awesome and I really hope y'all succeed with this because you really deserve it
This is great! I especially love the joystick feature for those times you need just a specific area cleaned. Can we see some video of how it works on carpet? We've seen lots of bare floor, but no carpets so far. Thanks!
Have no worries-Ascender is designed to excel on carpets, especially considering its focus on the US and European markets where carpets are widely used. Next month, we'll unveil more videos showcasing its carpet cleaning prowess. Keep an eye out; our Kickstarter campaign is set to launch shortly!
The height is first coarsely graded estimated by the vision algorithms. Then the bottom and front ToF sensors (both on the body of Ascender not the legs) help to determine the stair climbing actions.

For vacuum, the side brushes helps to get the debris in corners. As for the mopping functionality, there's a 4cm x 4cm area that remains unreachable because of the unique leg structure designed for stair climbing. If corner mopping is a priority for you, you might want to consider the latest models from Roborock and Dreame. However, it's worth noting that they also leave a 3cm x 3cm corner area uncleaned due to the round shape of their mopping pads.

Very unique robot vaccum no doubt! Would you be able to show us th Ascender operating outside the cloud? Ideally, in Valetudo and/or HA. Also, can you give us an indication of battery autonomy at medium powered. Many thanks
Super cool if it works off course. Have a suggestion: Could you make something like near proximity bluetooth so in the future one or you guys could make a door opener that opens the door when the vacuum robot gets near? That way you dont have to work with silly looking hatches (which cats/dogs can escape through as well) as the robot is doing its full cleaning passes
I love it. I just would like to see it on those turning and cornering narrow steps, like a cake. As you go up it gets slimmer and slimmer. How would it climb and clean and not fall down? Thanks!
New video will be released tonight. And here is the answer I copied: Spiral stairs + Narrow space + Open/No riser is the most challenging use case for Ascender. First, if you have a 40cm x 15cm space on the stair, then Ascender can climb up/down without issues, regardless if it is a normal or spiral staircase. Previously we occasionally saw failure when the stair was open or without riser, as Ascender couldn't see the next step. This issue is largely resolved after we integrate the front ToF sensor's data into the motion controller. Currently, our AI/Vision team is developing a lite model to further improve the detection accuracy and reliability (you can think of it as a dual fail-safe). Rest assured, delivering a machine that fails to climb stairs, when its key innovation is precisely 'stair climbing,' is simply not an option for us.😎
Yes, going down is simply the reverse procedure of going up stairs. We have several video clips in this channels include the "going down" part of Ascender.
I think the concept is good and love the ability to vacuum different floors. How many floors will it be able to save? I would love to see a video of you testing the robot vacuum on an area with dirt along the edge and in the corners. It would be interesting to see how well it manages to clean these areas. A feature that I miss in other robot vacuum cleaners is the option to choose to vacuum only the edge. It would be convenient to be able to send the robot to vacuum the edge in the kitchen, for example, without having to interrupt it when it has made a lap around the entire room.
Thank you for your interest! Actually there is no limits regarding how many floors to save. But we have only tested up to 6 floors during our lab performance calibration. Regarding the edge cleaning performance, you can check our previous video. Thank you.
This is absolutely sick I can’t believe you guys have created something i need. Most of the robot vacuums require some help even though it says its manual, however this vacuum has all the features i want and it’s completely auto!
Apologies for the confusion and great observation! The machine was in testing mode when the video was taken, with no smoothing applied to its path planning. This allowed us to closely examine the machine's movements. Once path smoothing is activated, the jittering observed will be eliminated. Rest assured, Lidar-based path planning is a matured solution today, and Ascender employs it effectively!

My question for you is: Do you have a video of Ascender going upstairs and downstairs cleaning a carpeted staircase for those of us whose homes have them? Love it and its innovative shape. But I couldn't not notice how it just cleaned the first step of the stairs and then just started climbing without cleaning lol. In my opinion, the app MUST have a feature such as "when crossing the stairs, clean them only once per week" or something like that, to mitigate the fact that it would take it an eternity to climb the stairs if each time it also cleaned each step, while at the same time you don't want to just send it to different floors just climbing the stairs and never cleaning them. Have you thought about a proper feature to create a nice UI to implement something like this in the app? :)
Great observation! Initially, we programmed the robot to clean each stair, but found it overly time-consuming for video recording. Consequently, we've temporarily disabled this feature via the app after the first stair. As for your request for customizable stair cleaning settings, rest assured, it's already on our feature roadmap. This functionality will be fully operational and ready for you by the time Ascender is delivered. Stay tuned, our campaign will launch soon on Kickstarter!
