The second happiest day in my musical life was finding the music of Andre Matos (the first was finding the music of Dan Vasc, which led to the second.). The saddest day in my musical life was the day I found out that Andre was dead. The man was a musical genius! He is deeply missed! I give this song a ten, because Andre is killing it, along with Hugo Mariutti on lead guitar, Luis Mariutti on bass, Ricardo Confessori on drums, and Marcus Viana on violins. I wish I could have been at this show and actually seen the whole thing live. RIP, Andre; you left us far too young(he was only 47 when he died in June 2019, and he'd have been50 on September 14 this year.)
Hi, I'm Brazilian, from Santa Catarina. Listen to the studio version of this song, it manages to be incredibly beautiful. Thank you so much for the kindness of remembering one of a Brazilian legend. Everyone stay with God ❤️🙏.
@@AmberandCharisseReact Thank you for your attention, here in Brazil not all UA-camrs have this cordiality to respond. Thank you my dears, stay with God.
No one does like ANDRE. Very first song I ever heard by this amazing man. What an incredible voice plus the band together making perfection. RIP ANDRE MATOS ❤️❤️
Beautiful, yet dramatic. I'll go with 8.75. P.S. I'd really like to know who were the 76 Brazilian vocalists that were placed before Andre Matos as greatest voices in Brazilian music in 2012 by "Rolling Stone Brazil".
This list is complete nonsense. What do journalists understand about music anyway? Nothing. Of course the jazz, bossa nova, folk, soft rock, and pop singers took first positions. I actually like some of them, Zé Ramalho got an interesting Dylan-like folk style. But as far as metal goes, guess who was the only metal singer placed way above Above Andre in the 37th position? You guessed right if you thought Max Cavalera. Maybe Andre could have been in the 36th spot if had a political agenda too. I like Max's political takes, I think it is important to have someone yelling people's political frustrations. But this is not a technical criterion at all. Andre has never been famous in Brazil, nor outside Brazil. He died and the mainstream media did not even mention his name. If I ask my neighbors who was Andre Matos, they don't know.
@@augustodutra3839 I don't think that the list was compiled by journalists, but based on a poll of readers of Rolling Stone Brazil. However, it's also most likely true that the general population in most countries are not really exposed to metal music & know such vocalists.
@@augustodutra3839 Thanks - that was quite enjoyable even if I didn't understand the lyrics. Would be a great song on the soundtrack of some western with epic gunfights. P.S. Sorry that it took me so long to get to it.
@@tarmotyyri6733 Really? I think we can tell a music is really good when you don't understand the lyrics and can still enjoy it. It is funny you mentioned it could be used in a western movie because the studio version sounds even more western with the harmonicas and has actually been used in this fanmade western-like video: ua-cam.com/video/sn_rXFMorqo/v-deo.html The lyrics are amazing by the way, they are a bit too poetic but you still can grasp the meaning. This is the translated lyrics, it may contain some small mistakes since poetry is too complicated to translate: Galloping Song: It was a time that time itself can't forget When the hoarse roar of thunders could be heard Heavens began to open In an apparent blazing crack The poet begins his prayer Strumming guitar strings and laments Writing his new commandments In the border of an insane world Riding in a galloping hammer (While "hammer" is a horse race, "galloping hammer" is also a sort of poetry writing style) And tripping in crazy thoughts Riding in a galloping hammer And tripping in crazy thoughts
Seven boots stepped on the roof Seven leagues were then fulfilled Seven waterfalls of lava and ivory Seven cups of spilled blood Seven sharp knives Seven watchful eyes I closed Seven times I kneeled In the presence of an illuminated being As a blind man, I was so obfuscated By the shine of the eyes, I looked into As a blind man, I was so obfuscated By the shine of the eyes, I looked into
It could be that no one will understand me When I say I'm a visionary It could be that the Bible is actually a dictionary It all could be a "remaking" But my mind may disobey me If I want to return again For the world of laws to force me To fight for the error of the mistake I prefer a sovereign gallop (I think "good" or "great" is a better translation here instead the literal one "sovereign" ) Than to surrender to the madness of the world I prefer a sovereign gallop Than to surrender to the madness of the world

Galloping Song:
It was a time that time itself can't forget
When the hoarse roar of thunders could be heard
Heavens began to open
In an apparent blazing crack
The poet begins his prayer
Strumming guitar strings and laments
Writing his new commandments
In the border of an insane world
Riding in a galloping hammer (While "hammer" is a horse race, "galloping hammer" is also a sort of poetry writing style)
And tripping in crazy thoughts
Riding in a galloping hammer
And tripping in crazy thoughts
Seven boots stepped on the roof
Seven leagues were then fulfilled
Seven waterfalls of lava and ivory
Seven cups of spilled blood
Seven sharp knives
Seven watchful eyes I closed
Seven times I kneeled
In the presence of an illuminated being
As a blind man, I was so obfuscated
By the shine of the eyes, I looked into
As a blind man, I was so obfuscated
By the shine of the eyes, I looked into
It could be that no one will understand me
When I say I'm a visionary
It could be that the Bible is actually a dictionary
It all could be a "remaking"
But my mind may disobey me
If I want to return again
For the world of laws to force me
To fight for the error of the mistake
I prefer a sovereign gallop (I think "good" or "great" is a better translation here instead the literal one "sovereign" )
Than to surrender to the madness of the world
I prefer a sovereign gallop
Than to surrender to the madness of the world
