As soon as he started playing, I was taken back to listening to my mom play piano, all my life--from 1949 through 2014 when she passed away). Her style was VERY much like this! Then up came the violinist, and there again, WOW! Mom was also a very accomplished concert violinist (she started playing in 1928, when she was just five years old). I am blown away! The audience in this video was, also, very obviously!!! Also, I would call this MUCH more than just a BAND. Symphony would be much more appropriate! Another WOW! You can clearly hear how much Dan learned from watching André over the years. What a "heritage," and how VERY well he learned!!! FANTASTIC!!! Thank you, very much, Philip, for this great reaction. You feel the music SO much, and I (for one), greatly appreciate your take on every piece you listen to for your reactions.
Andre Matos was such a gift! A classically trained pianist, gifted songwriter and singer, and was fluent in seven languages! He owned the crowd at this show! I am so sad that I only heard of him after he passed away! He was brilliant! May he rest in peace!
André Matos was the singer of the band Shaman, and he was a great inspiration for Dan Vasc. André Matos subsequently was one of the founders of the band Angra. Four years ago, he suddenly passed away at the age of 47. In response to this, Dan Vasc created t video "ANDRÉ MATOS Tribute | "Carry On" Cover - ANGRA" in which he covered the song "Carry on", originally sung by André Matos with the band Angra, and then expressed his grief. Following that, there is a short video with some words from André Matos, which honor him as a member of the METAL szene.
André Matos was a Brazilian singer, songwriter, conductor, producer and pianist, known for having been the lead singer of the bands Viper, Angra and Shaman. He died in 2019 due to an acute myocardial infarction. His curriculum includes Orchestral Conducting, Musical Composition, Lyrical Singing and Classical Piano. André was fantastic in everything he did, he is greatly missed in our music. tks
