Vanessa Shaw glad this could be of some help! These are great hangers when used properly. Good luck! If I can be of any assistance please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you for this demonstration. I was going to insert them the wrong way before I saw your video! I have a wide photo, so should I put two nails in the wall?
Glad this helped! if your photo is large and heavy I suggest 2 nails. however, if you can nail directly into the wall stud then one nail might be enough.
Shalom my friend. I am so thankful, truly that you posted this video, you are an excellent teacher. In 1990's I had many photos enlarged and mounted on foam board by an official frame store, long before HOBBY LOBBY. This hanging system is what remains on those photo art pieces. Now with grandchildren, I am doing the same photo art wall in another home. BUT, I can not find and HOBBY LOBBY doesn't have these. I did research and found on Amazon but I don't need 100 of them. Is there a place to purchase just a few?. Thank you so much once again for your tutorial, Shalom.
Good day! Glad this was helpful and thank you for your kind words. Here's a link where you can get a pack of 10. www.govart.com/hardware_hangers_foam_B.html
I know this is an older video so I hope you see this... I'm planning on using foam board to back my puzzles to hang up. Would these be strong enough to hold the weight of a puzzle? I haven't played with foam board before so I'm a little hesitant
Hi Kaitlyn. They are called foam core hangers. Different vendors will call them by different names. Here's a link: www.govart.com/hardware_hangers_foam_B.html You could probably find them a little less expensive with a few minutes of searching. The wire is 12 gauge I believe. I've used fishing line and string in a pinch so long as the artwork isn't too heavy or large.
Also, have you ever done photo tinting on black and white photos? I am not an artist by the sense of the word, like sculpter, or drawing, or painting. I love to color though and wondered if the technique was possible. I found only 2 videos by a guy named JR Hager and he is a good "simple" teacher. I need "simple" concise instruction. Anyway, that would be cool if you had a video too. Shalom my friend.
Hello again! I have not done any photo tinting. From what I know, the technique is not difficult but requires the correct tinting medium. You just can't use regular paints or inks. My colleague used to do this with his students but stopped many years ago as digital tinting is more efficient and cost effective for us. Here's a few links that may prove useful www.familytreemagazine.com/photos/how-to-hand-tint-photos/ www.ilfordphoto.com/hand-colouring-black-white-prints/ ua-cam.com/video/tR5bvgb3FQ8/v-deo.html There are A LOT of resources out there and finding the right one can be overwhelming. To that end, I suggest you start with hand tinting photos as a search in google. You can also search by the product you want to use (the first link has a set of pen brushes). I hope this helps. If not, reach out again and I'll see what I can do to keep helping you out. I'll ask some of my other teacher friends if they have a video to share. Take care!
Btw don't even bother trying to find this in local hardware stores, just order them online. They are kind of unique and nobody imports them, at least in Cyprus.
Hi Kathy! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. So, there is no one way to attach the wire. You can run the end through the hanger, back it over the hanger and tie the wire around itself. I like to wrap the excess wire end around the main wire then clip the end. Repeat on the other side. I don't measure the wire as I prefer to have more than not enough. I start on one end and give myself at least 2 inches past the hanger. After I tie that end down I move to the other side and make sure that I don't have so much wire that it will extend beyond the edge of the frame/mat. I typically have a little play in the wire but not a lot. I hope this helps!
Margarita Acevedo yes. I would suggest using stronger tape such as duct tape over the hangers to assure they don’t pull out especially if you are mounting something heavier.
Thank you! I thought about everything for my senior exhibition except for the actual method of hanging my work. This was a lifesaver
Wow !!! The best explanation ever !!! Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for this advice. After watching this, I have successfully hung three large prints on foam board
Thanks! You explained everything very clearly, I really appreciate it.
Great video. Thank you! Would putting the claws on an inward angle make it even stronger and less likely to pull in?
What is the name of that clips? They are available in online to buy?
Sooo glad I found you. I was ready to pull my hair out...by the roots...

hey! great tutorial, but it made a mark on the other side! have no idea how that happened, unless my foam core is 3/16" v 1/4" ?
What are those hooks called? Are they strong enough for frames with glass?
Thank you so much!
will this work for a gator board print 40" x 60" ? I want to hang my artwork close to the wall as possible
Thanks!

Hi the video is super helpful. What are those little metal piece called and how thick is the wire?

Do any craft stores carry those type of hangers?
