I love Lewis & Clark. It's a bit long but it uses those mechanisms wonderfully.

I rate Dungeon petz at a 8.5/10 I absolutely love it. One of my favorite worker placement games.

I had totally forgotten I picked up Towers of Arkhanos back at Christmas on a sale. This video reminded me I had it.
I'm always looking for games my younger kids can play that aren't too complex but still require some strategy- bonus if my teens can enjoy it too. 😊

I really want to to like L&C also. Played it once with my wife and while it does have neat mechanics, it is really a slog of a race. You have to be efficient otherwise it's spends several turns, go forward 3 spaces, then back 2 (or more). There's just better race games out there though I would like to play it again.

I think you overestimate the cross section of deep analytical deduction & word games. Hooky was doomed from the start.
