How to make SILVER JEWELRY with a Cricut Explore Air or Cricut Maker | Clay Cutting Technique
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2020
- Hey guys! I really hope this helped you make your own silver jewelry with a Cricut Explore Air or Cricut Maker. Metal clay is a super versatile material and it was really fun to figure out how to cut it properly with the Cricut. If you don't even have a cricut, metal clay is just the coolest in general.I know my design isnt super complex, but you can do so much with this technique! I am not a professional by any means, so there may be other ways to do this! I would also suggest sanding more than I did (preferably with a handheld rotary tool and sanding attachment), and also polish in a tumbler! But you get the idea I hope :) Thank you for watching, feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions!

I’m glad I found this video I’m starting to make jewelry and I have a Cricut I need all the help I can get
cute and video was great!
That's pretty amazing, at first I thought you were nuts with silver clay, but after researching it, wow, I don't know why more people don't know about this! Thank you!
That coffee cup at the beginning 😂 LOL awesome! Philip Haney didn’t kill himself either!
Both informative and absolutely charming! Thanks for making this. Making jewelry is something I've always wanted to try and silver has always been my favorite material.
Thank you so much for sharing, love your style.
This is a really awesome video. Thank you ever so much. I’ve tried to figure out how to use my Cricut and I already know how to use the metal clays, but I’m so uneducated about the technology. I’m a great grandma and of course not raised with computers. I just only was introduced to computers in the work place as I left the business word. So again Thankyou. God bless you darlene
Thanks for sharing!
Wow this so cool!! One of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen... I never knew about these metal clays! Would love to see what it looks like polished!🥰😍🔥
thanks! you are awesome, keep them coming.
I enjoyed this video and would enjoy watching more :)
Thanks for sharing! It answered a few question I had about cutting clay with the cricut. Excited to see what else you do with clay and the cricut.
I'm so happy it helped! There's so much you can do with just knowing what setting /size works best. I will be posting more metal clay projects soon, thanks for supporting!
@@craftycasi7944 Very helpful! What size are the earrings? The definitely looked larger than an inch. Thanks
Of course! Yeah they were 2 inches until they were fired, and then they shrunk like .25-.5 inch smaller when they were finished. I also have a small head so they might look bigger hahaha
@@craftycasi7944 HA! Thanks for responding.
Such an amazing tutorial. I can't wait to try this!
Wow! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more 💕
so glad you liked it! I'm excited to find more fun stuff to make
Thanks. I have a Cricut and was wondering if I could do this. Cute video!
Tha k you! Enjoy! If you have any questions when you go to do it, let me know!
I love it Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Great job doing this tutorial. I know/own nothing re metal making. Excited to start. Plan on making a "vintage trailer" wind chime. Wish me luck!
If you had an agate burnisher you could get a very passable shine. The agate burnisher looks similar to a paintbrush that is totally solid and pointed thus allowing you to get that polished look but, you must place the piece on a flat surface that is a little slip-resistant. You could also use PMC sheets that are already the correct thickness for your machine.
You should do a (part 2) video or see if Casey will with tools/ product you mentioned. I'd love to see it.
Thanks so much for this video. If the clay has other materials, what can you use aside the butane touch please? & What can you put the clay on when burning?
lmao love the mug
Great video!
Thank you for video
Hi, which of the Cricut machines would cut both polymer clay and silver clay
Love a good ol TRUTH MUG! Black men aren't hanging themselves from trees either. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME TUTORIAL!!! NEW SUBBIE!💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Subbed b4 I finished the video....the coffee mug let's me know you know what you're talking about
Would this work with polymer clay??
What program do you use to edit?
Can you paint on the clay too?
How would it be if it was put into a kiln?
It would work just the same! Cool tools has a firing guide for silver metal clay. www.cooltools.us/Silver-Metal-Clay-Firing-Tips-Info-s/1219.htm
is the oven step brand specific? i have metal clay but a different brand, not sure if you’re putting it in the oven because that’s what the brand says or because it needs to be harder or something??? just don’t want to fuck mine up hahaha. thanks!!🙏🏼
it's hard to mess up! This is not a brand specific instruction. A lot of people use different combos of time and temp and this is what has worked best for me. Should be super similar to other brands if not just the same
Can you used a heat gun instead of butane torch?
Nope.
😮🤓
