My take on changing skin tone is literally everyone as a person naturally gravitates to what they are most comfortable with so that is why it happens. I'm a little upset when it happens because a lot of the time people in my opinion change the character too much and they look completely different from the original intention but honestly if you still keep the overall vibe and their likes and dislikes and just the character itself in mind you should be ok. And most of the time the most self-entitled people make their voices known.
