TALGO III RD was a good RENFE Material and noiseless rolling ! I regrets this train's closure ! TALGO arrived in Geneva with BB 7200 1500 V DC locomotive. In 2014, the railway between bellegarde and Genève was electrification changed from 1500 V DC, to 25 KV AC 50 Hz, like new British Railways electrification lines.
The Catalan Talgo, this is history! Apart of this train, did you visit any place in Spain at the nineties? I’m from near Barcelona city and I’d be very pleased if you could film it.
Hello, I am sorry but I did not visit Spain. I only travelled on this train from Grenoble in France to Geneva in Switzerland. When planning my journey I saw in the timetable that it was possible to travel on a Talgo train. I was very happy to be able to do this as I had never been on a Talgo train before.
If This Were to run right now It will use Track 3 Figures Vilafant Talgo Gauge Changer with BB22200 BB26000 ETCS equipped to run Figures Vilafant Geneva while the overnight version uses the same gauge changer but Re420 RE421 PZB LZB ÖBB Deutsche bahn compatible version runs Geneva to Zurich
@muscleco In Copenhagen the S-Bahn trains are like this, and being short carriages they can also be extra wide to enable 3+3 seating, except in the end carriages where the seats are along the sides and of the tip-up design, so that there is space for wheelchairs & children's pushchairs. Oh and there are bicycle hooks too. See my website for photos... citytransport dot info slash Short dot htm (upper case S in Short) Simon
I miss this Talgo
I was there too with my bycicle at Gières near Grenoble at 17:00 I remember❤
I share. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing!!
What a clever idea! Could this be used for London tube trains to make more space?

Yes this is the OLDEST Talgo. The latest Talgos are much better and can run up to 300km/h
