Just a heads up people I use spring water in my machine and I have never used a descaler as there are no added minerals like tap water and the coffee is so much nicer.😁😁😁
Same my grandma plans on getting one I was going over it with her especially with the $50 off deal on their website and also getting the pods and such since I’ve heard it’s better to use the aluminum ones with this one
This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
I had Lor coffee machine (with milk frother) for 2 years and few weeks ago the lid broke down. It's still closing but most of time it bounces back and not fully closing... so annoying so I'm buying Nespresso machine now.
I didn't know that the little coffee dispenser thingy came out for cleaning. I'm stoked to have learned that! Thank you. I guess if I read the destructions, it would have told me there. 😂😂😂
Love this review…. I have brought this coffee machine and I’m scared to take it out the box incase it’s not a very good one! This has given me confidence, however where is the link to the comparable capsules? I just want to make sure I’ve not picked on that you don’t have a good variety to use!
Hi mate. Nice video 👍🏼 I’ve just got one and trying out the various pods that came with it. Still struggling to find the pod for an Americano or filter size coffee. - my go to in the morning. I wanna just chuck a pod in and get a full mug and add a splash of milk. Do I only buy XXL pods for this and press the lungo button for this size of coffee? Although I’m worried taste might be not 100%. Don’t mind using a small pod and adding hot water sometimes but it’s a bit of a faff. Any advice would be really great. Thanks.
hi. That's a tough one, becasue I use different coffe machine at the moment and haven't got the L'or anymore. However, from what i've dig on how to change the volume of water in Philips l'or barista, try these steps: - Turn on your machine and wait for it to heat up. - Press and hold the recipe button you want to program (espresso or coffee) for a few seconds until it starts flashing rapidly. - Release the button and press it again to increase the water volume. - Press and hold the button again to decrease the water volume. - Once you're happy with the water volume, press the button one last time to confirm your selection. I'm gutted i cant try it out for you, and cant guarantee it will work but its worth a shot. Please let me know if any success. kind regards, Adam
How much actual coffee is in the larger capsule compared to the smaller one? I have a Breville Creatista and pull two lungo shots to get a full, strong cup (the Creatista offers mutiple lungo sizes). I’m wondering if the single pods will save me some serious money by just using one capsule, but I’d want to know how much more actual coffee is in it compared to the regular capsule.
I came here to ask this...L'or is vague on the coffee capsule instructions. I'm also puzzled as to why the cup in the video is full to the top with coffee yet the Lungo button makes half that amount, if that. The host in the video said to ask questions...would be great to get an answers to this.
Thanks! Just bought mine and was concerned when I followed the instructions for initial cleaning. It only seemed to dribble a small amount of water out for a few seconds!
Leave it to run. It takes a while. O. Starting the clean cycle it fills with cleaning solution then sits, allowing the solution to dissolve any scale deposits. It will continue to do this until the tank is empty.
question? I only found the color back but am looking red just like you have , my question is where can found red one , let me know , thank you , am from USA
I apologize in advance for my ignorance but I’m completely confused as to the difference in capsule sizes. I know the machine knows whether you put an espresso capsule or a coffee capsule in but what is the difference. I know you get less water with the espresso capsule but if I use the larger capsule and press the single shot espresso am I technically getting a double shot espresso? Does anything internally change such as water temperature or pressure depending on the capsule or is it the same?
Hi, that's actually a very good question. Using a larger capsule with a single shot button won't technically give you a double shot espresso - you'll get a concentrated single shot using the less water provided by the single shot setting. As for the internal settings (like temperature and pressure), these don't change based on the capsule size. They're determined by the chosen beverage type.
@@FamilyPopTV so making a macchiato or latte using a large capsule isn’t recommended because the concentration will be off? Am I better off using small capsules if my intention is to make macchiatos?
Any comparisons between the L'or machine and the Nespresso machines? Does the L'or use high pressure to make espressos? Does the machine have the same spinning action that Nespresso has to make the creme on top of the coffee? thx
Hi. Apologies for my late reply. Both L'OR and Nespresso machines use high pressure to make espressos. L'OR machines use 19 bars of pressure, while Nespresso machines use 15 bars of pressure. This means that L'OR machines can extract more flavour from the coffee beans, resulting in a more intense espresso. Also, the Nespresso machines use a spinning action to create the crema on top of the coffee. L'OR machines do not use a spinning action. Instead, they use a combination of high pressure and a short extraction time to create the crema. Hope this helps:)
@@FamilyPopTV Thank you for the info on this machine. L'or is actually having a 4th of July sale right now for US, and the machine is reduced by $70 along with free 30pack coffee. Already bought it and am awaiting for its arrival!

Hi. This is a pretty odd issue, however I dig possible reasons and looks like Iif he needle used for small pods is blunt or damaged, it might not have enough force to penetrate the pod material effectively. I You may try to inspect the needle for any visible wear or damage - or rather contact customer service. This also may be a malfunction of the piercing mechanism or something small as incorrect pressure settings... Still, the cust.service would be the best starting point before you'd decide to open the machine..
hi. That's right, it takes Nespresso pods, as well as any other 'slim shaped' pods, e.g. Lavazza capsules (rosa, blue, etc), Illy capsules, Peet's pods, i also tried Kimbo pods recently. Basically, most of the slim aluminium/plastic capsules found in supermarkets are fine. It's certainly NOT compatible with flat shaped Dolce Gusto pods or Starbucks Verismo pods and Tassimo pods - these are different shape, hard to mistake it.
Does the coffee always come out of both spouts? If so, how far apart are they in cm? I f I only wanted one espresso shot (40ml), but the coffee comes out of both spouts, I think it would miss my cup! My espresso cups are very small!
Hi. With this particular model (barista sublime) you'll always get two shots from two spouts simultaneously, these spouts are 4,5 cm apart, which is fine for one mug.
How do I personalise the volume of water for each button? It's a brand new 9012/00. Instruction leaflet says it can be done but is woefully unclear, and the machine doesn't behave as the leaflet leads me to expect.
I have an issue with the amount of coffee dispensed, it’s not a full espresso, even when I press the button to reset, it’s fine when I keep hold of it, but as soon as I press it once, the amount dispensed returns to normal In addition to this most of the water falls into the back of the drip tray

Hi. You only need to descale it every 3-4 months, and all you need is a descaler solution (you could use an official Philips CA6530 descaler, This descaler is specifically designed for use with L'OR Barista machines). You could also use any descaler designed for pod machines. All you have to do is fill the water tank with half of the descaling solution and half of fresh water. Hi! The used capsule goes into the capsule compartment, which can hold about 8-10 used capsules before it needs to be emptied. To empty the capsule compartment, simply lift the lever and remove the drawer. Hope this helps
@@FamilyPopTV Thank you for the response! The quality is absolutely immaculate! Do you know if who filmed it shot and RAW and used a LUT? I honestly haven’t seen quality this good in a while!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you like the quality of the video review. I shot that video with my Nikon D750, which is a great camera for photos, but it can be a bit limited when it comes to color grading videos. I found that the Sony A7C I'm using now gives me much more flexibility in terms of color grading videos, and I think the results are definitely better, which you can see in the current productions. Sony shoots videos in S-Log and the quality is incomparable, that's why I decided to switch from Nikon to Sony. Please check out my latest video for comparison, the amount of detail produced by sony camera and zeiss lens is just crazy:) kind regards. Adam
The only thing I think you should recommend in your review is that people will not make coffee with tapwater. Most tapwater has chlorine and other impurities in it if you’re a coffee snob, do you want pure water so you can get pure coffee. That’s my opinion, what do you think?
Thanks for your comment! I agree, the quality of water can (and does) affect the taste of coffee. Here in Wales, tap water quality is acceptable, but I agree with you, you can use a water filter pitcher (or bottled spring water) for the best possible cup of coffee
You've made a very good point, (and the previous commenters), I'm preparing a quick review of 'bean-to-cup' coffee machine, so the use of bottled/mineral water is worth recommending. Thanks
Do these pods have milk in it already? When it’s made, do I have to add milk in? So I’m guessing this doesn’t make a latte? When I drink from shops, I buy lattes, macchiatos, and cappuccinos. Is this the right machine for me?
These machines' pods do not have milk in them, and no it's not worth the investment if you're interested in true espresso. These machines can't steam milk, which is what a legitimate cafe latte is comprised of. I think that some of these L'or machines froth milk, but they don't steam milk. These pod machines don't make true espresso. They just brew strong coffee with fake crema. If you want to delve into true espresso at home, then consider a Breville Bambino and a decent hand espresso grinder. These pod machines that claim to make quick espresso are convenient, but that's about it. If you have a passion for coffee beyond the effects then don't burn money on pod machines
Depends on preferences, I bought recently a beans-to-cup DeLonghi coffee machine and will probably make another little video about it. It replaced this one completely. Nothing compares to a real, freshly ground lavazza coffee in the morning:)
I’ve had a machine since Jan 23 and now it won’t let water through , I can’t descale it as the water can’t be pumped through what can I do I’m so sad with out my coffee .. HELP 22.24pm Friday 2nd June 23
Search the same for Nespresso, basically you blow air into a sandwich bag and push it down into the water holder with a little water in the bottom. The pressure pushes any air out of the pipework and water comes out again
Hi. It's not as loud as my 'bean-to-cup' coffee machine, but it's not silent either. Obviously the pump makes that buzzing noise but it's not very loud or annoying. Comparable with Nescafé dolce Gusto machine (I know as I got Nescafé one in the office),
This coffee machine relies on the capsules, so from definition it’s a different coffee making process than mastrena or verismo. However, when it comes to flavours, I haven’t seen compatible vanilla latte capsules yet.
Hello. Thank you for your video. Can you help me please. Can I use a l'or expresso coffee xxl pod and press the lungo button for a longer 2 coffees but using the expresso flavour pod I enjoy? Thank you for your help .
I apologise for my late reply. Yes, you can use a L'OR Espresso XXL pod and press the Lungo button for a longer 2 coffees. The Lungo button will brew a larger cup of coffee, which is perfect for using an XXL pod.
Good morning everyone I have a simple question: I would like to do cappuccino and why not moccacino the easiest way possible. Does the l'Or brand or any other brands have pod that make this ON THE GO using this coffee machine. Maybe the pods already include milk and/or cocoa/chocolate.
Hi. In the U.K. it was recently priced from around £59 to £99, I think the prices are very comparable everywhere else in the world. Last checked on Amazon US it was priced around $129.
It’s dependable on the capsules, there’s a wide selection of available coffee types and flavours (noir, profondo, ristretto, lungo, decaffeinate- all these are in single or double versions), then espresso (colombia, Italy, India), best to check on lorespresso.com for all available types. There are nespresso coffee capsules (classic - not vertuo!), these are compatible and the range of various types is even bigger. However I’ve never seen cappuccino or macchiato for example, but it may be available from 3rd party manufacturers. As long as the capsules are mug-shaped (not round shaped, like vertuo), this machine would ‘process’ them. Hope that helps
I wish i knew what the lights from the corners mean when they start flashing. The middle one is of and the others are flashing is there anyone who can help?
Hi. It's pretty easy, it's just adding the descaler to the water tank (as far as I remember it was 10:1 water to descaler ratio), and run it through without the capsule in. Once done, it has to be repeated, running full tank of water without the descaler, so it cleans itself.
Thanks for your comment. I understand your point. A blind taste test would be a great way to see how the coffee machines compare objectively. BUT I'm open to doing a blind taste test in the future. If I get enough requests:) cheers and thanks for your feedback!
You're probably right, the capsules are quite expensive. I use this coffee machine at work and trying to buy the capsules in big batches to make them cheaper.
Oh my good those enormous mugs full of water. WHY? Why do you brits love those huge mugs SO MUCH? Stick it to the Italian quantity of water, otherway is gonna be only dirty water...I wanna cry.
I bought a vertuo machine recently . Then same day I went back and got the lor machine too. My wife hates me because I have 4 coffee machines , if I could legally marry them, I would divorce her and move into a house for me and my haram of coffee machines . 10/10 👍
Haven't used my second hand virtuo in years and it actually pissed me off that their more recent machines don't get as much variety as the old pods that are now compatible with most anything. I'll be getting the L'Or
Hi. I would say, ideally to get one of each.. I appreciate the simplicity of L'or and variety of compatible pods (including all 3rd party ones). The main thing to consider, the price of the pods as this will build up in the long run. L'or compatible pods are pretty cheap, so my choice would be most probably this one.
Haha same here. I have Vertuo but I'm so p*ssed off with their limited pods availability. I want to be able to buy pods from the grocery store. Also have Tassimo but their Espresso pods are not available in any of the stores nearby and the rest of the coffee is just awful. So I'm heading off to Argos now to buy this one after watching the review and will try selling the other two on ebay!
@@mitccoo I use the lor machine the most out of them now . Just easier to buy coffee for it and I feel Nespresso vertuo is a bit gimmicky . My favourite is a lor brand capsule too .
If you want more Lungo you can use the same capusule twice. I mean "emediatelly". There is no difference and you get twice the amount (no i do NOT mean save it and re-use it, i mean push the button...wait, do it again :) ). You will not notice any difference.

I just bought one. Made my first cup and did not have much of the foam.....why?
Is it noisy when making the coffee?? I heard it on other tutorials!!’
It's as noisy as any other capsule coffee machine. I got Nespresso machine at work and can't tell which one is louder,
A perfect addiction for the whole family
😂
Where does the capsule go?
Hi! The used capsule goes into the capsule compartment, which can hold about 8-10 used capsules before it needs to be emptied. To empty the capsule compartment, simply lift the lever and remove the drawer. Hope this helps
Superb review, thank you
Thanks 👍 much appreciated
What kind of camera was used for this?!???
Nikon d750 ,
@@FamilyPopTV Thank you for the response!
I totally agree
worse than chlorine flouride calcifies pineal gland that freezes third eye functioning, among other things
Not to mention the spike protein in the water from everyone's pee, ewww i know, I use only bottled now (pee that is ;)
You've made a very good point, (and the previous commenters),
I'm preparing a quick review of 'bean-to-cup' coffee machine, so the use of bottled/mineral water is worth recommending. Thanks
Haw i can use xxl capsul
It recognises XXL capsules automatically,
Hi, does this machine fit lavazza espresso pods?
It should fit the lavazza espresso pods, but it won't fit lavazza modo mio (the flat shaped pods, which are more like dolce Gusto)
Sorry, as a coffee roaster I can't get behind these gimmicky pod machines. I'll end my rant lol.
No milk. Not the machine for you. This is mainly for espresso lovers. I'm just gonna buy a real coffee machine.
Depends on preferences, I bought recently a beans-to-cup DeLonghi coffee machine and will probably make another little video about it. It replaced this one completely. Nothing compares to a real, freshly ground lavazza coffee in the morning:)
Reusable pods are also available for this machine.
How do you use them with no holes in them?
Hallo weiss jemand kann ich andere marken oder größen auch benützen von die kapseln her?
Nespresso capsules
Great review video Adam! Very informative. I need one 😊
Thanks Mike! 👍🏻
How is this machine holding up for you?
I’ve had a machine since Jan 23 and now it won’t let water through , I can’t descale it as the water can’t be pumped through what can I do I’m so sad with out my coffee .. HELP 22.24pm Friday 2nd June 23
Search the same for Nespresso, basically you blow air into a sandwich bag and push it down into the water holder with a little water in the bottom. The pressure pushes any air out of the pipework and water comes out again
Great video
thanks! much appreciated.
Whats the max size cup you can use.
Hi. The max height of the mug is 3.5in / 9cm
@@FamilyPopTV thanks for info
this machine is silent while using?
Hi. It's not as loud as my 'bean-to-cup' coffee machine, but it's not silent either. Obviously the pump makes that buzzing noise but it's not very loud or annoying. Comparable with Nescafé dolce Gusto machine (I know as I got Nescafé one in the office),
I get so tiny espressos with espresso pods, wonder if my machine is defect lol.
Can this replicate Starbucks Mastrena quality? Especially Starbucks iced vanilla lattes?
Thank you for your reply. I have purchased my machine now. Very happy with it.
Mine did NOT come fully assembled and ready to use.
I really like the look of it but it's enormous to big for our tiny kitchen have to stick to my lavazza modo mio machine for now
Good morning everyone
I have a simple question:
I would like to do cappuccino and why not moccacino the easiest way possible.
Does the l'Or brand or any other brands have pod that make this ON THE GO using this coffee machine.
Maybe the pods already include milk and/or cocoa/chocolate.
no. nothing with milk or anything similar. If you want milk with barista you need to add it yourself
What’s the price of the machine?
Hi. In the U.K. it was recently priced from around £59 to £99, I think the prices are very comparable everywhere else in the world. Last checked on Amazon US it was priced around $129.
do not deliver pods to Australia not the xxl pods
Does it make all types of coffee?
Hope that helps
i order one to day :)
I wish i knew what the lights from the corners mean when they start flashing. The middle one is of and the others are flashing is there anyone who can help?
Ibread itbsomewhere that the machine is trying to cool off before the next shot
@@faiza9707 thank you so much
The cleaning procedure for Nesspresso was way too much nonsense. Is cleaning the L'Or Barista easier?
Hi. It's pretty easy, it's just adding the descaler to the water tank (as far as I remember it was 10:1 water to descaler ratio), and run it through without the capsule in.
Once done, it has to be repeated, running full tank of water without the descaler, so it cleans itself.
@@FamilyPopTV Thanks! This one sounds like a winner. Great video!
Thanks 👍
where does the milk heat up
lol
Making coffee with the double capsule doesn’t give good coffee with 2 cups underneath. It’s better to make it 2x1 with single capsules.
I’d be more sold if you did a blind taste test
Thanks for your comment. I understand your point. A blind taste test would be a great way to see how the coffee machines compare objectively. BUT I'm open to doing a blind taste test in the future. If I get enough requests:) cheers and thanks for your feedback!
dès la première utilisation fuite d'eau par le dessous....fuyez Philips
J'espère que vous obtiendrez un remboursement complet du remplacement.
$1 per capsule!!!!! Not viable for me. When they lower it to $0.50 we can talk
You're probably right, the capsules are quite expensive. I use this coffee machine at work and trying to buy the capsules in big batches to make them cheaper.
It broke after one month..
How much did you get paid to advertise this product?!
Not a penny.
But it opened a few doors.
Oh my good those enormous mugs full of water. WHY? Why do you brits love those huge mugs SO MUCH?
Stick it to the Italian quantity of water, otherway is gonna be only dirty water...I wanna cry.
This thing is a POS.
It blows up the pods and then can't seal, so can't make coffee.
POS to avoid at ALL costs.

How much money you have received for this commercial?
None. Done this 'commercial' purely for pleasure of creating things
What a rude comment!
They need to get rid of that awful gold trim.
Horrible tasting coffee
Strange accent!
Strange comment... The world is full of accents. Were you born yesterday ?🤣
I bought a vertuo machine recently . Then same day I went back and got the lor machine too. My wife hates me because I have 4 coffee machines , if I could legally marry them, I would divorce her and move into a house for me and my haram of coffee machines . 10/10 👍
haha, this is probably the best comments I've seen for a while!!! 😂 (and the best comment I can relate to:)

You will not notice any difference.
thanks for the tip - i can confirm, it works!
great, im up to 3 cups per morning at a rather high pod cost so will try to stretch them.
Love this review…. I have brought this coffee machine and I’m scared to take it out the box incase it’s not a very good one! This has given me confidence, however where is the link to the comparable capsules? I just want to make sure I’ve not picked on that you don’t have a good variety to use!
