I just made my first batch of this stuff. I made Quinoa Tubule, with Tomatoes, basil, Lime, Cumen, cucumbers, and Chopped Cauliflower. I made it with 1/2 red and 1/2 white Qinoa. I also used Olive oil. it;s chilling now in the fridge for tomorrow, it tastes excellent now but i suspect it will be even better tomorrow.
I have heard that the west is offering so much for Quinoa that many cannot afford to buy it in the markets please put pressure on the export market to make this valuable local food cheap for the locals!
Unfortunately, that was true a few years ago. We have authorities in our country that don't take care of their own people and when quinoa was very popular in 2013, the prices increased from 8 soles to 20 soles in the capital city.
That is a myth Ben, price rose 5 years ago but locals don't buy it they just crop it and then keep always enough for their own consumption. At supermarket for urban bolivians or peruvians the raw grain product is quite accesible. The origin of that myth is scandinavian viking research that wants to deprive South American Andean producers of their riches. in fact many non traditional producers (France, Spain, Scandinavia, Europe, North America, etc) are spreading that rumour so to gain more market share for their NON-ANCESTRAL-ANDEAN small and ugly quinoa grain. Keep buying Bolivian or Peruvian quinoa brother, don't mind the locals they are happy to export. I am a local. lol
