Steve is mostly a counter-hit and timing-based character
He does not have a generic 15f launcher like other characters, the current standing launchers he has are b2(17f) & uf2 (orbital punch, correction - 00:35 this is running 2 instead of uf2)
But these are also removed as per the information in the trailer.
From Steve's Tekken 8 bio, it is hinted that he is learning a new fighting style and the trailer shows that he gained a new stance from South Paw similar to Hwoarang as noted by commenters in the previous video, as the trailer is too fast we still don't know 100 percent but it's highly likely.
Also, I calculated the frames while editing, the guard break move is +14 and the new throw seems unbreakable like King's RKO - Ігри

It's not a uf2, it's running 2. You may see first few frames of running before it.

The throw out of duck almost seems like there's a second input. I wonder if the clinch is unbreakable, but then it's a marduk style mixup between two punches
Few viewers suggested I change the format of the video to show Tekken 7 first.
I generally show the trailer moves first and do them in T7 in the next clip for previous comparisions, let me know if you guys think this is better.

I like the new format. Definitely cleaner. Also, so crazy even on youtube, you can see how much cleaner YT compressed T7 combat is vs T8's muddy TAA+compressed look.

My assumption is they're removing b2 because of how potent b1 will be with the magic 4 nerfs across the board. Will be interesting to see how he plays when Tekken 8 releases, if the opponent can't backdash out of a db3,2 after heat engage I can see him being a real pain to play against.
What you said about b2 sounds like a good assumption. I think Steve will be just fine with all the changes.

Exactly this. That was my first thought as well. They are leaning into his identity as a CH character. The fact that he still has b1 in a game when this stuff has been nerfed across the board will make him stand out even more. Makes sense to weaken his non-CH launch potential

Why does Steve have a choker on??? That's a weird style choice, especially since he is very much alpha male type character
And Steve's face looks kind of bloated compared to the rest of his body.

One thing to remember is that ch d/f+2 into Gatling, if guaranteed, is probably not going to leave recoverable life since the opponent isn't in an airborne state (also all the hits will do unscaled damage)
EDIT: I've been informed that the hits are scaled but should still be unrecoverable
On CBT they added scaling to most grounded combos so it won't be AS damaging. Still, they won't get any recoverable health as stated

@@lemonzest8650 depends on the move, for stv specifically, it is a nerf though. Ch df2 and B2 both used to give a full combo.
Honestly that idea is sick for Steve...sure he doesn't launch...but u can't fix what he does to u since he focuses on grounded
It’s too earlier to talk about Steve,personaly i think he is always a very good character and love his new moves,time is always a good indicator to know if a thing is good or bad.

wtf does steve do after a blocked rage art now? I'm really shocked they removed b2 launching normally. But we kept the CH focused stance heavy gameplay so I'm happy. I expected steve to take major changes because of that story preview and 8's focus on aggression and less CH launchers.

I still to this day since the launch think that tekken 7 was the laziest tekken game they made with no iconic soundtrack, forgetful stages and one thing that irritates me the most as a steve main the fucking glove hit box in the intro 0:00 (fist dont touch if you dont have boxing gloves on ) but 2:48 they suddenly touch?!! There are many more such things like a bad models (DVJ which was literally jin with cosmetics) etc etc In my opinion the reason tekken 7 got saved was the gameplay was the best ever (thats why they didnt change the movements in T8) and the DLC characters and it being the only tekken game available ofc. Glad to see so much improvement in T8 With beautiful soundtracks and stages and good character models (Steve🥲)
They could fix his appearance by sharpening up his jawline and improving the hair a little too. That's it. Other than that a few redo's to some VO lines wouldn't hurt either.

His heat smash reminds me of his sfxt super move and his rage art got dudley spitting out his tea cause it looks almost like duds' rolling thunder.
Ducking right 1,2 , b 2 and u/f 2 change hurts my soul, d/f 2 counter hit nerf doesn't bother me too much cause I can't land shiro combo on the regular anyway.

You know at this rate Im surprised how people didn't even realise that every character in Tekken 8 got nerfed. Especially counter hit and some low launchers.
I'd expect everyone will get buff later, maybe months after launch until they have enough data to fix the balancing

Honestly, I like these changes. They easily could give him i15 launcher or normal hit launching b1 with heat dash. They are going full on with his boxing character archtype and it's 100% more unique and interesting then what Leo showed previously.

B2 not launching just seems wild to me. I wonder how much B2 + massage will do, 50~55? Maybe more.
That switch stance flicker does look strong, if that guard break guarantees 1,1,2 that will be a very good keep out tool, although it looks like death on whiff (it may reach so far that you practically cannot punish it tho).
Overall Steve looks like he'll focus way more on his core gameplan of poking away and getting those juicy B1s, same as allways, although the new clinch and heat ducks may make him a menace, especially if he can restore his heat somehow.
Just like another commenter said, B2 to gatling is all "true" damage. None of it is recoverable since the opponent is standing. This could be big for Steve's game plan, getting hits in to permanently remove a good chunk of the opponent's health rather than focus on aerial combos for nearly half health that is recoverable later.

to be honest tekken 8 has fewer launchers and combo does less damage unless you use a lot of resources or you are at the wall. so i don't consider it a nerf since the game want less launcher. now we'll see when the game is out

it's not nerf but rework... In t7 Error = Big damage in T8 = Less damage into guess situations EXEPT at wall... you take big damage into at wall with a lot of ch like nina b+4... Just new neutral rules
