- How did Generation Identity go from being the most high-profile and influential far-right groups in Europe, to being de-platformed and banned in their country of origin?
Repackaging classic far-right ideas for millennials, Generation Identity consciously eschewed the stereotypical far-right aesthetics and language - binning the bomber jackets and talking about culture instead of race, in an effort to seem more respectable and appealing to potential recruits and the media.
In March 2021, after nine years of controversial and confrontational activism, the French government finally banned the group, whose tactics and ideology was able to spread across Europe and to the US.
How effective will a ban be? Only time will tell. But undoubtedly, Europe’s most influential and high-profile far-right street movement is on a downward spiral.

The problem with France is their weak political morale, their government is loaded with people more afraid of losing their position than really care for their citizens. Strong political measures can not be applied when those ruling the country are playing for their own wealth.

This is what happens when a society can't have reasonable discussions about changing demographics, you can kick them off social media, but it's not going to go away.
Because people don't usually tend to have innocent discussions about changing demographics, usually they have other underlying beliefs and attitudes towards said demographics that might raise an eyebrow.
Seriously what did the people that push for more migration expect to happen? Pressure begets pressure. And the pressure that is being put on the indigenous communities of Europe in the form of massive, migration from foreign culturs sooner or later will result in a backlash. Especially if these migrations aren't managed properly to the benefit of both the hosts and newcomers. We can count ourselfs lucky that there hasn't been any economical upheaval so far. Everybody that is carelessly risking the peaceful and free societies in Europe needs to pic up a history book and realize that they are playing with fire.

There is a difference between protecting culture and identity and allowing religious freedom. America is very much so considered a Christian nation, yet plenty of mosques and so forth are built. Ethiopia is the Same as well, while most of it's population is Christian, there is a genuine percentage of Muslims in as well. You can protect your culture and identity but if you become xenophobic about it, then there was no point of being open to outsiders anyways. France is different though, they have been attacked by extremists left and right and has seen there culture shift. So hence they have a reason for outrage.

I follow French politics on a daily basis, and I have to say that these kinds of short, one-sided, partial videos, with a scary music playing in the background, on vastly more complex topic than what is said, really demonstrate the poorly-conducted level of journalism at play, and the necessity to reform journalism degrees.

Then when the Sacred Months (the Ist, 7th, 11th, and 12th months of the Islamic calendar) have passed, then kill the Mushrikun (see V.2:105) wherever you find them, and capture them and besiege them, and prepare for them each and every ambush. But if they repent and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat, then leave their way free. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
6. And if anyone of the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) seeks your protection then grant him protection, so that he may hear the Word of Allah (the Qur'an), and then escort him to where he can be secure, that is because they are men who know not.

I'm a woman of mixed culture and I don't give a d*mn where anyone's from. I care about how other people treat me, not their origin. I also embrace difference--culture, language, worldview. So long as different perspectives don't seriously harm others. But I don't see why Europeans can't strive to maintain their sense of their identity. At my school, we had DOZENS of different culture clubs. But we had no European culture clubs. We used to have a Scandinavian club, a French club... but years ago, student protests coerced the U administration to get rid of European clubs specifically. Imagine being told you have no right to congregate with other people who share your language and ancestral history simply because you're European.
I don't condone racism. But when I, an American, travel to another country for work... I do my best to adapt to my hosts' norms. I'm a guest. So I understand people whose families lived somewhere for centuries feeling uncomfortable about being expected to accommodate others' ideologies. Respect and hospitality have to be a two-way street.

I’m not white and I agree with them: Islamic and Western values are incompatable, and that causes a problem. Take the UK: Indians (Hindus), East Asians (Buddhists, atheists) all integrate fine.. they assimilate into British culture/values while only some Muslims (mostly those who reject Islam, or are non practicing/secular) integrate. Many (be it 5% or 50) just don’t - and this is a fact. Now add in the high fertility of Muslims (more than 1 child on average than non Muslims in Europe) and immigration, this causes concern. This isn’t anti Muslim, many especially the secular and liberal people are the same as any (the true enemy is Islamists); this is just self preservation and common sense. If France wants more migrants, should get some non Muslims to balance it out (eg Indians, Chinese, Poles, etc). Or alternatively, raise birth rates of native French citizens.

However, before the 1970s Canada was primarly made up of European immigrants (and as you know the European culture is very similar and practically related, so the "diversity" was seen very differently at the time) with the odd Japanese living in BC who came from Japan. Diversity is great and beautiful, however there are consequences when you mix many very different cultures and it then effects things like the nations society, traditions, patriotism, and respect for history. People simply don't want to see their country that has been the same for so many years turn into another country (and we are starting to see that in many places like Canada, the USA, England, France, Australia, Taiwan and others). Japan is a great example for having such a strong and stable society and economy while having almost 0 immigration.
