  • Leroy "Nicky" Barnes of Harlem was the king of dope in American from 1967 t0 1977 thanks to his Lucchese framily connection. Thanks to his own family connections, Cavario got in the game at age 13 and Louis Diaz, a guest on VladTv, went undercover to bring down the Nicky Barnes organization.

Had a habit from late 70s that took 30yrs to get rid of,for me it was lower east aide, alfabet city, and Bushwick, back then a lot if areas looked like war torn Europe, mostly abandoned blds, wide open,or three in,three out,it was always good, pretty organized, brings back memories, but living the good life in Florida, that time has come and gone, praise god, still here, most people I ran with are long gone, and thank god,no fentanyl back then, they actually knew what they were doing, all black areas,if your white, and knew what you were doing, nobody bothered you,it was business, money talked. Lol

The world needs more Cavario. His intellect and intelligence and front row seat growing up and learning from some real KINGPINS since a baby really encaptivates our minds and audience. He's so well spoken and breaks shit dOwn and paints the pictures like no one I've ever come across. Truly, one of a kind. This legend has way more to come. Love his books too, can't get enough

why do they keep minimizing and reducing frank matthews? not trying to romanticize dope dealing but give credit where it's due, matthews was DAT dude. and moreover, if it wasn't for SARGEANT SMACK aka leslie "ike" atkinson most of them dudes wouldn't have access to the product. matthews even dealt directly with MARCEILLES MOB.

Check it out: A rookie cop new to Harlem was in the dressing room one night where the officers would change into street clothes before going home. One of his buddies asked him had he ever seen the Black Mafia in Harlem. The rookie started laughing with a look of disbelief on his face.
He continued to laugh at which time the officer who asked him that called over 'Johnny'. The officer said, "Hey Johnny, the new guy here doesn't believe there is a Black Mafia in Harlem." 'Johnny' gives the rookie a penetrating stare and asks him how long had he been on the Force. The rookie says, "I been here now____" 'Johnny' says, "You been in Harlem_____ and you didn't know there is a Black Mafia in Harlem?" "If you ever run into them, be careful!" were Johnny's last words before walking out the dressing room.

new york used to be crazy haha, watching that old geraldo thing reminded me of that.. i saw shades of it in the early 90's you still had a lot of dilapidated buildings around the bronx and some in harlem too, graffiti everywhere, even on the trains, and also remember the stripped cars? There were dealers in time square, central park was not a place to go after dark.. Still, it was awesome.. way better than today..

in the movie with Denzel Washington there's that Scene where he accuses a Dealer of supposedly jumping all over Blue Magic is that meant to be Nicky Barnes?
How could Barnes be smarter if it was Lucas who went straight to the Source whilst Barnes was taking the crap the Mafia was handing them which was jamp all over H' from the French Connection bust?
IDK much about it all but sounds like there was an interesting time to be had in H' Town back then.

apparently Lucas never did that all his shit was from the mob and the dude who started bringing loads over from SE Asia was some ex-military dude who I think maybe is sorta depicted as lucas' connect in the American Gangster movie - sorry can't remember the real guy's name rn but heard all this j the other day from Al himself if I'm remembering correctly from watching a video by him on this channel about famous/celebrity rats or informants/co-operators etc, go look up on Al's channel n check out if u interested! apparently the movie based on an article written about Lucas n Lucas conflated his own life's story with this other guy who was importing loads from SE Asia either in n around the vietnam war etc - so essentially told a bunch of self-serving fibs to the journalist to bolster his own street-myth n was obv enticing enuf to catch the attention of Hollywood writers and or producers etc. ps. ty for the education @alprofit apologies for my slapdash half-remembered summary/paraphrasing here lol.
