I feel like this isn't actaully an anime, anime were always just about action, fighting or stupid stuff anime fans think it's funny but that thing is about a really good story, I really liked Cyberpunk Edgerunners
What always gets me is that despite Lucy being the one to tell David that Edgerunners are remembered by how they died, the last memory we see of her and David isn't him fighting smahser. Its just a normal David, with minimal chrome, goofing off on the moon like they did with that BD. She remembers his life with her more than his death and I think its a beautiful thing.
Makes the ending just the more sad because all of the persons who really mattered to david rather would have him be fucking alife and poor than him beeing a so called legend.
It's a similar fate for Jackie. To Night City he's some Solo that went out fighting Arasaka and Smasher in the car getaway. But to V and Mama Wells they remember him like family would. It's the tragedy of Night City.
That's exactly what I was thinking. The little Easter eggs you can see like the picture of him with his mom outside the academy, her ashes on the shelf, the doll of Rebecca, the metal hands, the memory pictured on the screen, and above all the jacket he wore after his mom died hanging off the back of the chair. Looking past that the tears streaming down Lucy's cheeks as she remembers David and his sacrifice along with the loss of her old crew. I'd like to think that this picture is cannon, that after she went to the moon she came back to Night City and collected these things for herself so they wouldn't be forgotten, so that even tho they are gone they can live on in her memory forever

Just noticed she was crying, has davids jacket on her chair and is watching a recording of a time she caught of him smiling at her and or the camera. Tells the aftermath of the film and the story in the artists view which is a nice way to see it.
For me it was pretty on par with arcane. Felt the ache in my throat and me holding back tears just like some anime can do. Silent voice was one of few that brought me to tears after so many years being numb not ever getting close to crying. So ye it hit the feels a bit too for me. Still a great film.

i loved this anime so much, it was realistic it showed us that the good guy doesnt always win, it showed us the gritty part of life we dont normally see in shows, but it also showed us the moments that we keep fighting for, those few moments of pure joy that we stay for, my love for this anime cannot be described in words it hit a nerve so deep i cant even begin to comprehend how much it affected me on an emotional level

Realistically, it hits harder knowing that we all want that connection they had. That not many of us would get to experience or have a bit of it with in our lives and others have had it and lost it. It makes you think about choices we all make. If it really is worth it just not talking to who we care about when we have the chance instead we miss it and wonder if it could have been different. To know all we had to do is put down our pride and that one moment could change our ending. Would be nice to think maybe she had his kid or had told him he was the target or even put her past issues to the side and escape with David and the crew for a better path. Could it have been different. Would it have made that much more of a moment to live in. As dysfunctional as we all are all we want is to live in the moment.
