If you are ever lost while hiking, get stranded with a broken down car, etc and you notice your cell phone battery is low, here is a tip that very well may save your life.:
Change the voicemail on your phone to a message that gives your approximate location, the time, the date, your situation (lost, out of gas, car broken down, injured, etc) and any special instructions such as you are staying with the car, you are walking toward a town, etc.... The best part of this is that even if your cell phone dies or stops working, voicemail still works, so anyone calling your phone looking for you will hear the message and know where to find you or where to send help.

Just make sure you turn it off right after you change it, so it goes right to vmail and stay in the location provided.

I loved that you didn't do the mainstream disappearances. I've never heard of any of these ones before.
I've heard of the henry case one. Its a famous case.
I've heard the very first one she mentioned and the last one. Haven't heard about the rest though.
The second case was pretty popular too.
I knew about the Brandon Swanson & Henry McCabe cases only because I live in Minnesota.

Brandon’s story is so terrifying. Driving down unfamiliar country roads in the dark makes me so anxious. I’ve definitely had moments where I’ve gotten all turned around, everything looks the same, and cell signal is weak. Not a place you want to be stranded by yourself. As tempting as it is to get out of your car and walk to the nearest town, staying in or near your car is your best bet of help finding you. Keep your lights on, flash your hazards, or honk your horn if you feel you’re in danger or need to alert rescuers. If necessary, keep the doors locked and wait until morning before venturing out. You’ll be more alert and aware of your surroundings. From what I’ve read about the case, it seems like Brandon may have been disoriented from alcohol consumption at the previous party he attended that night, which would make a person’s judgement poorer and reflexes slower. Either way, what a horrifying experience - to be out in the middle of nowhere all alone and lost. I hope the case gets solved in the future and his family can find some peace.
I really like that she touched on these stories. I don't know if she understands, but this type of exposure helps to bring attention to cold cases and helps to expose poor detective work. One of my fav videos.

We feel horrible, you want answers and justice and we don’t get it and are expected to move on but like how, a whole human/ person/ loved one is gone.
The only missing case I know of personally was a girl called Vicky Hamilton who went missing in my home town when I was a kid and her remains weren’t found until 16 years later at the other side of the country. Sadly her mum died ‘of a broken heart’ 2 years after she went missing. It definitely must be heart breaking not knowing....
And that someone out there knows what happened

With Brandon Swanson, his parents said he didn't hang up and the line didn't go dead- it was just quiet. They decided to hang up and call in the hopes the lights or vibration/sounds would wake him up but no answer. It's such a sad and baffling case.

I don't know why, but the unsolved mysteries are so much scarier to me than the solved ones.
Probably because we don’t know them. Human nature is being afraid of unknown. You’re not alone on that one, I am as well scared with those unsolved mysteries.
I agree! And then you think what about those we don't even know about? I have a cousin who disappeared and a dog brought her arm home to its family. Yikes! No one knows what happened to her.

On March 10, 2004, my mom was reported missing. Two boys found her body a week later.
That week in between was the worst week of my life. No matter what happened or what she went through, knowing the truth was so much better than not knowing
Questions remain but knowing where to visit her ashes is better.

Yes! I always let multiple people know where I’m going, who will be there if I do know someone there, the address if I have it, if I’m traveling with someone, what time I’m coming home If I know, and I share my location with one other person. I’ve been stranded twice before and have learned from those instances. Once I was stuck in a country road with no one around, the other I was alone away at college still learning the city.
This is why I stopped going out to dinner with my friends. They would always say that it was just dinner and then after dinner they would decide to go out partying so Id have to choose whether to stay miserably until 6am because I didn't want to party or go home alone

It’s because he was under water. Only his shoulders and head was above water. He was basically floating that way.

Thats probably one of my worst fears. Going missing and never be found. No closure for my loved ones, "is she dead? was it quick? did she suffer? is she still out there, waiting to be saved?"

I watched the documentary Dreams of a Life. The life and death of Joyce Carol Vincent is my biggest fear. No violence. No torture. Just being so absolutely alone that nobody even notices you're gone.

William’s disappearance isn’t the only one of the like in Boston. Several young have disappeared in similar ways over the years and their bodies have been found in the Charles River. You should definitely do a video on these disappearance.
I was just about to comment on this. I live in Massachusetts and the Boston missing men thing freaks me out to no end.

What drives me crazy about the Henry McCabe case is that his “friend” dropped him off at a random gas station while he was intoxicated without his wallet or keys or anything. How is that in any way responsible or smart?
For Brandon’s case- I am from Marshall MN and this case still haunts our community to this day. We still have his missing picture up at our courthouse. Really cool that Bailey covered it! ♥️ her

@@MasonBrannick interesting theory. The largest predator animals we have around here would be mountain lions or coyotes. We don’t get bears/moose/wolves this far south in MN - our habitat is mostly cornfields :( which is depressing lol.

About him hanging up his phone, if he had a flip phone, some settings are set where the phone hangs up when the phone is closed. He COULD have fallen into the river and accidentally closed the phone as he fell.

But we all know and FEAR the white windowless sliding door vans...and now I know the most likely reason this has been instilled in us! While it was intense and graphic, she did give a disclaimer in the beginning to warn to squeamish or those who can’t handle dark crime. 🤷🏻♀️

To find a light in the darkness: I always love hearing that tons of people banded together to search for missing people. That willingness to help a fellow human is warming to me.
Brandon could have had a flip phone, this was back in 2008. Those things would hang up when you closed them, so he might have instinctively shut it as he fell ?

Yes. These unsolved mysteries are both scary & sad at the same time because there's no closure.
If you are interested in these unsolved missing persons cases, Google David Paulides. He is a former police detective who has researched strange missing persons cases that mostly take place in national parks but also cases all over the world. He has written a book series called Missing 411 that documents all these cases. There are so many untold stories, even recent ones of people going missing in unexplainable ways. He takes the cases and compares any similarities they possess. He has documentaries on Amazon and UA-cam. Check him out if you haven’t already. Really decent gentlemen and the research he has done is extremely underrated and important.

Agreed! She’s not the only “true crime” UA-camr I watch, but not to sound harsh but some of them definitely tell the stories so “dry-ly.” Like I cant watch an almost hour long video where it just seems like you’re reading. 🤷🏾♀️

2008 Brandon may have had a flip or slider phone. It would have hung up immediately when it was closed or slid down.

But there was no sound indicating it dropped
I'm not convinced there would have been a noise when it fell/went into water. Phones back then, especially flip phones - you wouldn't hear it fall if it fell shut. You'd just hear the click of the phone hanging up.
This episode also reminded me of all the times I've accidentally ended a call with my cheek - on flip phones, sliders and smartphones.

@@Mikala25 Honestly,I’ve never felt the need to exit one of her videos, or anyone else’s for that matter, until I heard the story of the young boy being trapped in a vehicle with his father’s body. The fact that he cried out for help for days and people on the other end MOCKED him rather than helping him…. oml-

Bailey, girl you're so great. I recently decided to do something creative after coming through a depressive slump following very difficult circumstances. I decided to craft and paint a vanity, I placed all my makeup and hair tools out. I play your videos and place my phone on its stand while I do my makeup. It might sound weird but it's like having the company of a new, fun and inspirational friend. Thank you for making these, thank you so much. Your intelligence, entertainment and humour have uplifted me. You are a gem of a human chica!
I don't do makeup often but I own a few palettes, and 90% of the time I use them is watching these videos.
Tbh, the unsolved stories bother me SO much more because the people that did it are still just lurking out there.

Bailey, this story of Brandon reminds of this guy who went missing when I was in middle school in the early 2000s. He was eventually found when I was in college. I just watched a full docu series about the smiley face killers, It’s four retired cops/FBI guys investigating, and they go into more detail about all the individual cases, including the two Bailey mentioned, and how they were investigated (or not investigated in most cases) I’d highly recommend it, I was glued to it from start to finish. I think it’s just “the smiley faced killers” 👍🏻

Henry McCabe did not have his wallet on him, but his friend actually had it. Also, the friend was mistaken when he told officers where he dropped off Henry. He named the wrong gas station. That was cleared up and officers were able to corroborate that he was in fact dropped off. Just thought I’d mention it since Bailey skipped over it.
Seems like Todd thought his friend/friends were following him or messing with him when he left the party. May be why he called his friend saying he is fed up and he is in the field.

With Brandon's case, I think it's possible he had a run in with a wild animal. He notices the bear/mountain lion/whatever and hangs up immediatley, since more noise would attract the animal's attention.

Blocks may be varying in dimensions but the streets are still pretty well labeled and straightforward. Rural areas and historic districts are a different story.

Brandon could have also been hit by a car. A friend of mine passed away in a similar manner and her mom was on the phone with her when it happened and this is exactly how she described their last phone call together 😢
Whenever there’s a “lost boy Larry” situation where in real life it seems like he doesn’t exist (no Larry has gone missing, no father son duo missing, type things) I always have a gut feeling that child is a child who was abducted at a very young age and was never recovered. To the point where he really believes his name is Larry, he might not even remember the life that he was born into. Only the life he has been forced into.
I never thought about it that way. But yes very well is possible and sad that stuff like that happens.
Sometimes people go their entire life not knowing until they're adults trying to live life and they find they're not a "real person". A few times people found this out and it's hard because it aeem like these kids who were abducted.. were well taken care of.. like the one he forgave the man because he raise him and took care of him. Weird

Brandon Swanson is a case I'd read into recently and there's a big possibility he's somewhere on surrounding farm property. Dogs were able to locate his scent on a piece of farming equipment and the owners have never granted permission for them to search the land. Why there hasn't been a forced search warrant I don't know.

@@starquattrocchi3955 idk what that arena is like, but I go to Kings games at the Staples Center all the time, and it covers a very large area. whoever snatched him could have said an address close to the game but on the opposite side of where they actually were, and his friend wouldn't necessarily know where he wandered off to once they were outside.
