Just a Chat - 13 February 2023

On my way to Tavistock to delivery a selection of my paper-mache jewellery to a new gallery there. It's called Southwest Crafts - in Church Street which is a little lane with a cafe that runs alongside of the church.
I pulled over on my way onto Dartmoor to let a Landrover pass and then noticed the trees on the brow of the hill which set me thinking.
I've used a voice recorder for decades as I drive along, collecting ideas to write down or to at least to think about later on. Then during Lockdown, I began to make a series of chats for my future older grandchildren as I may be long gone to pastures new by then. By then, I mean if and when they're old enough to want to know more about their grandmother.
Those chats used to be recorded on my sofa - hence Sofa Chats - but there is no fixed time or place. I've always been interested in where thoughts and ideas come from including my own, or where they might go if allowed to roam. Also I love to write - poetry and fiction - slightly on the magical-realism side so consequently there are some very interesting characters who have points of view and voices of their own too. Lol. I'll make the maps afterwards. And I do like to explore my own mind as much as anything else. So when I chat I really don't have much idea at the start of what I'm going to say which is probably how I would be as a grandmother to older children anyway. I think that popping them onto my UA-cam Channel helps to explain who I am and where I'm coming from. I'm still finding out.
