- Now that it is fall it is time for me to reflect on what I have learned this year! Welcome to my Grimoire in all its glory. In this video I flip through all my grimoire pages. This is the junk journal style grimoire I have been using for the last 2 years. Art Journaling is a big part of my spiritual practice and now you can see what I have come up with so far! Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Marina if we've never met. I am a creative, jack of all trades, homesteading in the Inland Northwest. I began practicing magic in middle school, not knowing I was doing so! And through the years I never imagined I would learn as much as I have! So I thought it may be helpful to share what I’ve learned with you magical folks! i just got a new journal i plan on using for a grimoire and this has definitely helped me in terms of design ideas! this video definitely helps me with my need for everything to be finished and absolutely perfect, but even when a page isn't fully finished its still beautiful

My collage process takes a long time too. I get lost in the process, especially looking for just the right things to cut out and add.
Oh my gosh I feel like its an amazing way to get in the flow! Taking time to contemplate and experiment! It makes the whole process much more intentional!

I’ve just stumbled across your page, and I love your grimoir! I’m a Welsh witch, so I thought I’d weigh in on your comment about Mabon (pronounced M-ah-bon) ap Modron. He’s one of our gods/deities here, and he’s featured in the Mabinogi as well as Arthurian legends. You’re right that he has nothing at all to do with the Autumn equinox, that’s a product of modern neo-paganism and Wicca. Mabon means “Great Son” in old Welsh, and he’s the son of Modron, the “Great Mother”. Mabon was stolen from his mother as an infant, and the earth withered until he was returned. In traditional Welsh witchcraft, they’re the two deities we tend to work the most closely with, as they aid us in studying, learning and knowing the changing of the seasons ☺️

When I was talking in the video I was just referring to the legitimacy on the title of the holiday. "Mabon" according to what Ive read is term was chosen in the 70s. I just want to use the most accurate termology I can :) I should have been more clear when talking about that, sorry for the confusion!
Since you're Welsh, What do you call the autumnal equinox? I wonder if there are any older names for the holiday? It's time for me to do more research lol

Beautiful grimoire! Not sure if someone has already mentioned, re: Mabon, but Mabon is pronounced 'Mah-bon' and is the name of a Welsh legendary character from the Mabinogion, sometimes also seen as a deity. So the name is not made up, but was used to describe the Autumn equinox, probably as Mabon has a similar story as other gods that are associated with this time of year, where he descends to the underworld, and is 'reborn' in the spring.

I’ve been stuck on where to get started, there’s so much to put in a grimoire. I kept thinking: where do you get the time to manually craft something, especially if you have a family and zero spare time; do people still do this in our modern digital age
Coming across your UA-cam video is a real godsend, as I’ll develop something that is specific to me and conducive of my time-constraint circumstances
I’ve been looking at historical examples ...I’m just an ant in comparison [ to grimoire craft ] of what I’ve seen
Initially I was thinking of doing a book binding course, seeing as how we have the internet now and knowledge is growing so rapidly, I wondered how I could do a draft-book that I would end up ripping pages out of as better content presented unto me
I also did a traditional calligraphy course too specifically for my grimoire (I could keep learning calligraphy I love it)
And I was making my own paper, but I did a conservation course and learned that some of paper material raw material I was recycling likely was acidic and would eventually [ perish/ ruin the content etc etc ], plus when I did calligraphy on my hand made paper the ink bled bad
But: you set the best role model by simply starting, doing, slaying procrastination - and courageously sharing something very private and personal/ a sacrifice in the process of truly helping others

Thank you so much for sharing your thought process about starting your grimoire Annon! Your comment really means a lot to me because I have a lot of the same perfectionist tendencies it sounds like you do! :)
The hardest part for me is using non biodegradable products in my grimoire (glue, acrylic etc.) But I just try to remember that magic is a process, and when I find better solutions or i think of them, I change! It is always a constant evolution :)
Something that has helped me a lot in changing my mindset is my gardening practice. It reminds me that nature is messy, and that there is a level of perfection in that messy chaos because of the life and interconnectedness that is there. So I figure, as long as I am connecting to myself and the universe while i am creating in my grimoire then my mission is accomplished! I hope this helps!
By the way I would love to see your grimoire when you get going on it! It sounds like it will be beautiful and really meaningful with all of the loving intention you would add to every part of it!
P.S. i just did research about PH levels of coffee dyed paper for my next grimoire, and i ordered some locally made biodegradable ink for my fountain pen :) baby steps!

I'm so glad this helped inspire you! I had a tough time starting out with my grimoire too! But making my book out of scraps and and doing the pages roughly chronologically removed a lot of my hesitation. I still have to remind myself sometimes it's about the journey :)

Beautiful 🌻 I started mine however into traveler notebooks at least how I thought but I’m finding I’m writing so much and how to place. Did you portion out pages to subject or when you created this you just went with it no rhyme to order?
Thanks! I mainly go through my book chronologically, but there are certain sections I pre-planned. Like the section on different alien species. Most of the time I just open to a page that fits the design I have in my head :) I am also making an index in the front once a lot of the pages are filled up so help with referencing.

Do u have any BOS that don’t have print outs? That’s not a dig at all! I was just curious to see what else u have because I’m not crafty and I don’t have a printer so I’d love to see what else ur creative brain can show us :)
Sorry I'm a little confused. Most of this grimoire book is hand done by me! There's only a couple of printed out pages in here (the human design and astrology charts)
I do however have a book of shadows that isn't decorative at all and just has my daily spiritual notes in it lol. But I won't be sharing that online due to it's personal nature. My video coming out tonight is about how I make my signatures for that! There is some printing and crafting involved though.
What kind of video would you like to see? Would a video about designing borders around pages be helpful?

Thank you suz! I made the window page by cutting out window panes on 2 pages in the book, then I mod podged some tissue paper in between them. After it dried I colored the window frame with marker on both sides! And I be you are just as clever, I got the window page from Molly Roberts so inspiration can really come from anywhere!

3 to 5 what? Oh are you talking about humans and the dimension we are in? If so then the earth hasn't made the jump to 5d fully yet. To my understanding both the earths are present and we as individuals tune into one of the other depending on how we are vibrating on the day to day. Hope this helps!

My book of shadows is just full of scribbles, horrible handwriting and ugly drawings. 😭
So is mine! This grimoire is where I creatively meditate on the lessons I've learned after I learned them. But man oh man, the learning process is scribbly in my bos :)
