I only discovered Julia Child a coule of years ago.. Wondeful...I love her! A much younger Julia advised people to throw duck fat away as there was no ise for it!.. Faux Pas!
I have made the duck pieces sauteed in fat with veggies. I cooked it outdoors over open fire, best meal ever. Must be Hard to mess it up if I could do it like that.
14:26 Julia: i need some salt. I'm NOT going to use that KOSHER salt. Jacques: How bout some pepper? Julia: Pepper, Yes Jacques: White? Black? Julia: Black! *laughs* Jacques: Good! *laughs* Julia: *smiling* Black's alright. lol LMAO
Apologies for the poor quality of this one. Ripping the original DVD’s proved a challenge when it came to the duck episode. I will try to do a cleaner rip as soon as possible.
Umm... Seems to be broken. Around 7:25 we start into massive pixelation, and it goes away later. I re ran those sections, and still had issues. I moved off to other videos and had no issues.
@@baritonebynight oh no way! i had no idea as someone who cooked professionally for 8 years! now show me where they put salt and pepper on the duck and not Julia just putting it straight into the pan with vegetable oil and jacques then putting that unseasoned duck into the oven at 2:34. or at 5:00 where jacques butchers a duck and then puts it unseasoned into a skillet. or at 8:18 where they take the roasted duck and put it into a pan to brown with 0 seasoning, throw unseasoned skin in the oven at 10:26, add veg to the unseasoned roasted meat and don't season it at 11:00. the CLOSEST they come to any seasoning is the chicken stock at 11:33, but by then they've gone the whole time without using salt and pepper once. 12:22, they add veg to the seared duck, no s&p. 14:29 is the first time salt and pepper is used, and again, that duck is already cooked so it's essentially pointless, kindly sit tf back down.
I really love seeing Julia happy as it reminds me of my grandmother that way.
"We need two ducks"
"Well you have to CALL for another one"
🤣 cute
Julia, in a deadpan voice, “Just do it, if you mess it up, nobody will really know.” 🤣😂🤣
When it goes wrong, turn it into soup. If it's tough, dice it small. No one knows.
@@crochetedlace2838, good point! Soup can be very forgiving. Have you seen the soup episode? This series is priceless!
if it's a decent quality duck it's hard to mess it up lol! I mean, it's crispy unctuous fatty duck! how bad can it be lol???
“Then you have to call another one!” 😂🤣😂😁 Listen to the lilt in Jacques voice! I could listen to his voice all day!
Many people say he’s the Bob Ross of cooking
Julia seems completely enamored by Jacques deboning that duck, I love it. They were like two peas in a pod
Two beautiful people I was trained by both of them
7:03 reminds me of trying to watch dish tv during a storm 😂
They’re so adorable!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Thank you for taking the time to upload and share it with us!
I love her "Tin Man" oil dispenser..
Hi, could you reload this video, it is repeatedly freezing up from the early middle section.

Lol she can be so goofy, I wonder how much was her idea and how much was the producers’ 🥰
This seems to have some serious problems on replay.

Thanks for uploading this video. There are a few spots were it didn’t render correctly and it’s a bit garbled.

@@RYN988, I’m glad you kept it up though. This episode is priceless!
Hello, is there a better version uploaded yet? It’s very hard to see and hear around the 7:00 and up part of the video.
You can basically figure out the recipe after the glitch is over once you see what happened.

Yes I had difficulty ripping the dvd of this particular episode. I tried re-ripping multiple times to no avail. My apologies.
I've watched all of the ones you've uploaded now. Do you know if there are any more of these? :)
They made 22 of these episodes. If the OP doesn't have any uploaded you can watch them for free on many platforms across the web.
I wonder what Julia has against kosher salt
If you do it wrong nobody will ever know. :O
If you mess it up no one will ever know. :0
Julia seemed to have a different watch in each. episode.
Duck fat is good for frying potatoes
Not one ounce of seasoning used
In classic French cooking, salt and pepper count as seasoning.

Would it be so hard to upload one that wasn’t full of glitches?
If that is so easy, why don’t you upload it?
