  • Catch a glimpse of us moving our Sea Ray 480 Sedan Bridge off the dock at Stock Island Marina Village, to the dock at 3D Boatyard around the corner. The boat has twin screws (twin engines), with the throttle and shifters separate. We also have a bow and stern thruster which help make docking a breeze most of the time. This is not quite a step by step how to dock video, but I do walk you through some of whats going on. Enjoy!

This bonus video is a peek ahead into our boatyard saga. It was created for our other social media platforms, but we upload them to UA-cam so you all can hopefully enjoy them too. Be sure to like and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Smooth, smart boat operation. Not everyone knows the basic rule of boat operation. "Never approach any dock (pier) faster than you are willing to hit it."

This is the first video I’ve came across of yours, docking was and still is at times so stressful to me. I just moved up from a single engine 25’ cabin cruiser I’ve had slipped for 10 years to a 40’ LOA Silverton 34 convertible this year and with no one to show me how to drive it I had to learn myself, right after sea trial I was handed the keys and was on my own. But in the last couple of months I’ve gotten a lot better at docking and haven’t hit anything 🤞🏼but with a fly bridge and no thrusters it can get scary in high winds. Very good videos on twin sticks. Practice practice practice and don’t hit nothing lol. Be safe happy boat. Boating is life!!!

Docking is one of my favorite parts of boating. A little stressful at times, but I like the excitement and when it’s done right, very rewarding and gains street cred. Lol.

Great video! I'm hoping to move up to a 400 Sedan Bridge in the next few years. Love the 480 and look forward to future videos from you guys!

Good video! I think your word notations say “bumping the throttles” and it should be “bumping the gears”. I know what you mean but new boaters will get confused.

I worked on and raced 33’-44’ sailboats Wednesday’s and weekends for years. I always liked backing the boats (most times singlehandedly) into the slips as it looked cool once tied off (everybody on the docks sees your racing boat), easy to get out of the slip quickly and frankly, the single diesel engine prop “bit” better. Would have loved a bow thruster. Windage on big Cruisers would have been a huge challenge!

Enjoyed seeing the maneuvers. Does the boat idle unusually fast? Seems like there was a lot of audible prop wash every time you shifted into forward.

I’m diggin’ that TUNASKIN shirt. Is it a lightweight sun shirt? Where can I purchase it? Cool channel, just subscribed.
