Wonderful tutorial. Especially for beginners who really benefit from seeing it in real time and don't have a personal instructor or parent to help. I am a seasoned sewer and I enjoyed your video. Thank you!
As a sewing beginner this was by far the best tutorial I've ever watched, so detailed! Thank you for explaining all the steps you took - I've learnt so much!
So here’s the scoop. I’m returning to work at end of month after 6 weeks (shelter-in-place) and none of my skirts fit! I needed to find a tutorial that would give me the confidence to make a few items. I’m a quilter with little experience in apparel. Yours is the absolute best tutorial I’ve come across. So detailed and helpful! And pockets? I’m in heaven!!!
I’ve honestly felt I’ve never got a zip right having done several with different patterns. This video has changed all that - thank you so much for how well you articulate it and the time you spent on each part 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for this video! Your attention to detail is unsurpassed and I really appreciate the encouragement you give and the time you take to explain how to sew properly.
Just followed your tutorial and made my first ever skirt. Your tutorial is so well put together that I had no problem understanding every step. Thank you so much for posting it. I'm looking forward to seeing what other patterns to try out.
By far, the BEST tutorial for making a half circle skirt. I got so many new tips, tricks and hacks I feel that I can now do this. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

I have made skirts like this quite a while ago and needed a refresher. Wow! What an amazing job you did. Detailed and concise tutorial. Your sewing and teaching skills (gifts) are wonderful. Thank you.
Hi Tiffany, I just want to thank you for a wonder job in making this skirt, and taking your time to explaining everything. Starting with making the pattern, putting the zipper in, making the skirt and doing the hem. I will be definitely using your instruction. I really enjoyed this tutorial.
I can't wait to try this out, I feel really inspired by this. I have struggled with the combination of zips and waistbands in the past but this is such a detailed tutorial I feel like I have l learnt so much! Thank you 😊
Shout out to you Montoya. I missed the first part of making this beautiful. I just bought my serge, and I am still trying to figure out how to use it. Be blessed.
You did a brilliant job with this tutorial. I really enjoyed your presentation and found you incredibly clear to understand. Wonderful job. Well done. x
Great detail, instructions and camera close up shots! I was trying to read a pattern and had gotten stuck on the same instructions you demonstrated with the waistband and cutting off the bulk! This was such a great help to me! Blessings!
Excellent tutorial with very detailed step by step instructions. Would have like to see the completed skirt at the end of the video.....forgive me if I missed it! Thanks again and very much looking forward to watching & learning x
I have recently subscribed to your videos and have learnt a lot. Thank you. May I please suggest that you show the final result of the garment you have actually sewn on the video. It would make a much more satisfying experience for your viewers. Thanks again.
Great tutorial. Thank you for the very thoughtful manner of teaching us, it is appreciated. Look forward to watching more of your work. I just subscribed.
Superb instructions! I enjoyed watching and listening to this thorough tutorial, and I feel very confident that I can make my own skirt. I'm subscribing to your channel!
Yeah! I made it. It took me 2 days. Unfortunately, the waist is too big so I have to downsize now. More learning for me! Thank you, you are a great teacher!
Wonderful tutorial, as someone who wants to learn to see this is fantastic! But I wonder, as I'm not fond of zippers(I find I have more bad luck with zippers binding or loosing grip) what would change if I were to install elastic, or even a draw string style closure?
Hello I have been making skirts for years and I know how long they take to make so I am so thankful that you took the time to make this tutorial. I was just wondering where you got the soft pink fabric from and the color name?? Thank you
You're welcome, thank for appreciating my work. The pink fabric is crepe with a slight stretch. I bought it from a local fabric store here in Sacramento. They don't note the colors on the bolt a this store,, but it is similar to a dusty rose.
As a true beginner, I just bought my first machine not too long ago, I really appreciate the detailed breakdown of all the steps. Other youtubers I have watched so far teach to a more intermediate level audience. Thank you for taking it easier on us. I have watched all three parts now, and I can't wait to purchase some fabric and try to make a skirt. I need a few more tools like the clear ruler and the L shaped ruler also. What type of fabric do you recommend for making this skirt for a beginner?
Yay @ new sewing journey. You a very welcome, I'm glad that you find them helpful. I recommend woven cotton, it has no stretch and doesn't slip while cutting and sewing. I use the African prints, you can also use batiks or quilting cottons that have a nice medium weight.
This was a nice video. ? I am a very very new beginner can I used thus method to make a plus size skirt? This maybe a dum question. Also can you put the guide in your distribution box to print out?
How would u alter the waistband to attach a top to make this a full maxi dress? I wanted a maxi dress with a tank top looking top kinda like the picture u have of the finished skirt.
May i please ask you-before we stitch in the ditch, should we do the second to last step on both sides of waistband? Stitching and turning over to poke out the right side? Thank you!
You're such a fantastic instructor! Thank you for this series of videos! Would you be able to recommend pattern alterations for a series of buttons rather than a zipper to close the skirt, though (and/or a tutorial that shows that process in action)?
EAG369 Thank you for the compliment! Currently I don’t have any tutorial recommendations for a button band. I do have the style on my to do list and I hope to get to it soon.
Wonderful tutorial. Especially for beginners who really benefit from seeing it in real time and don't have a personal instructor or parent to help. I am a seasoned sewer and I enjoyed your video. Thank you!

Any advice to downsize the waist?
Hello! This is an amazing tutorial! May i ask how long is the zipper? What size? Is it an invisible zipper? Thanks a lot!
Hie just wanted to find out if that was an invisible zipper or normal one? If it is a normal one can I still sew it the same way?
Could you give details about the machine model you're using, please?😍
