Right before season 5 aired like about a year before I wrote a fan theory letter to the creator of samurai jack regarding the possible relationship regarding Aku and the Scotsman meaning why did aku put a huge bounty for him and what was there history together that and I wondered since the Scotsman’s sword is technically magic would it be strong enough to cause aku physical damage not enough to kill him because yeah that’s jacks story but I wrote it like 3 years ago I’m never expecting a letter back but it still would be cool if in the near future my questions and theory’s will get answered by Gennedy but like I said I’m not going to give my hopes up for years to come

So I guess that answers the question if the Scotsman's sword can even hurt Aku? Jack's sword has survived and even reflected Aku's beams and stuff so it should mean its higher ability. Technically the Scottsman wasn't a total goofball here, no one did know if his sword could be a threat to Aku up until this point where it was tested. If he had Jack's sword in hand he could deflect those beams and actually fuck up Aku. Meh, I'm ok with Jack not going back if he can fix this messed up warlord world.

I don't believe that for a second. I think any kind of magic can harm Aku. That Sword went to Toe to Toe with Jack's Sword and both didn't even crack on each other. If he was at his prime he probably would have been able to block Aku's Eye Lasers. But of course Only Jack's Sword can Truly harm Aku.
