Heading to Manitoba for my first bear hunt next spring. I’ve spent the last two years up there filming bear hunts, but this will be my first time behind the bow. I need a swizzle shirt!
I’ve always aimed for the shoulder, 9 times out of 10 they just drop right there. Makes for easy tracking, I see you do archery a lot so the shiddle looks good for a broad head.
Good stuff, thanks. I’m coming up to Stickflingers in 23 and can’t wait for it. First time on a bear hunt, excited to see how your spring season goes. Good luck.
I always take middle of the middle as - take the middle of the body or the center section , front leg to rump. And find middle of middle section in the vertical and horizontal. I like to go slightly foreward of the middle or day 6-8 inches behind shoulder
I would love to see a video with a standing bear and a similar anatomy overlay. Where I live is a ton of willows and underbrush and a fair number of bears will stand and look when they hear something close. Would be good to see. My two buddies I hunt with both killed a bear standing this year, one a black with a bow and one brown with an aught six straight into the chest.
Love the content! Just shot my first black bear last week with my bow! I’m hooked! 300lb spring bear he was beautiful. Wapped him rite in the shiddle and 15-20 seconds later I was hearing the death moan! I will Deff be doing a black bear hunt again. Also I would like to see some broadhead comparisons.... I took mine with the qad exodus and was very pleased with the results
100% spot on. Always remember to look at camera not the critter. I too always take a lot of pictures and one always is far superior. Thanks for the video it comes natural for me but we all can improve.
Great explanation for shot placement. I’m going to get serious about bear hunting this fall since it’s gotten near impossible to draw hunting tags in my State. Got to hunt what you can over the counter. Anyways I was looking for info on shot placement and this is the best so far. The Biden graphic is awesome. However we didn’t flirt with disaster here in the States we have full blown embraced it.
I have been going to do a video on this very topic but you did such a good job I'm not sure I need to. Well okay I probably will and see if I can get more views than yours! LOL!
Excuse me, but if a person never shot a bear before and you're with them and you instruct them to shoot a bear in the shiddle, make certain they know what the shiddle ahead of time, because it sounds way further back, really back.😂 Great video! 👍
Your red dot on the carcass pic could have been moved over to the right even more. This middle of the middle thing is so stupid. I’ve shoulder shot a lot of bears and they all died.
Thanks for explaining the fault in the 'middle of middle' piece of poor advice. One thing I might add is to not go off the belly line, but instead go off the chest line and halfway up. With gravity pulling down on tissue and bears not having a high shoulder like a deer, the vitals inside the bear are higher and actually in the middle of what you see. The green box in the diagram is a bit low and could cause a shot that is too low.
I’ve waited 5 years for my bear tag. Been puttin in that long and finally drew a WI tag. This was super helpful. Thank you
I'm glad it was helpful, good luck!
Awesome explanation man I appreciate it. I'm going out for bear my first time next Saturday and can't wait. Thanks for posting
This is the best explanation of best practices for bear shot placement. Thank you!
Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful
Thank you! Hands down the best shot placement video I have seen. Exactly what I was needing.
Thanks Brent, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Good luck...I'll have to try and set you up with one.

Awesome, you'll really enjoy your time up there! The atv rides are an adventure on their own!
just learned that lesson the hard way tonite. He knows his shiddle!

It's not rocket science, shot placement on a bear is easy
Another great video. With your knowledge and humour I always anticipate the next video. Excited to see your season unfold.
Appreciate it! Just waiting for the snow to melt.
@@rattlingjunkie me too. Hung cams last weekend but we still have about 3-4 ft in the bush. Did you guys get hit with that wild storm?
@@jdmath we sure did. I won't be getting my bait out until May now.

Congrats on a great Shiddle shot! I have 1 video about broadheads, but will keep that in mind for more in the future.
Great video! Excited for this season!
Man I can’t help it, the sounds bears make when they get hit is always a little bit of a gut punch.
Thanks!

Sorry wrong. It was intended for the picture taking.
I always aimed 4” behind the shoulder center body. Releived that it agrees with your vid. See you on 6/5.
See you in camp!
Nice vid! Great advice. I am in BC and heading out for bear this week.
See you Sunday sir!
See ya soon!
Quite the video -- wow. Very informative and detailed...and often funny. Good work
I appreciate the kind comments!
Always told my boys middle of the middle and a hand width forward but still behind the shoulder. Ha, I was telling them to aim for the Shiddle. Lol
Exactly, hit 'em in the shiddle!
Awesome video thank you
Great video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Good luck on your hunt and I'm glad you found it educational and entertaining!
Great tips!
Thanks Ed!
As a die hard 🦌 hunter I can say that the scapula's cost me some beautiful 🐻's hunting with my recurve!!! 😭😭😭💯🇨🇦👍🏻
Good job, definitely some good info.
Thanks Jerret, I'm glad you found it helpful!
What is on the bears fur? Like what are those little bumps, they look like growths
Burrs
Nice video, I have my first bear hunt in a month.
Good luck!

Do it!!
Best analogy ever. Disaster = Sleepy Joe😂
bait bears in Michigan also
I've heard there is some good bear hunting there.
Interesting
Thanks for watching!
Once you get enough experience, you can become a master baiter. 😁
Yup, I got the shirt as well!

True! Rha is for watching!
A shiddle sounds an awful lot like a Texas bullseye to me! 😂
Well done.
Thanks!
Nice video!
Thanks Brad!
What’s wrong with “shoot it like a fucking deer. Behind the shoulder”.
That's basically the advice Peter
Bait Masters? Or master baiters?
Oldy but a goody 😂
Made me think of "Hit 'er in the sh!++3r like Ol' Tex Ritter"!😂
Hey, the saying is catchy!
You look a lot like jens pulver
Looked him up, tough dude.
Haha yes a true OG of the sport
Your red dot on the carcass pic could have been moved over to the right even more. This middle of the middle thing is so stupid. I’ve shoulder shot a lot of bears and they all died.
Totally Peter, I aim the exact same way I aim on deer.
The Joe Biden pic was a perfect add to illustrate a disaster 😅
I'm glad you appreciated that humour!
@@rattlingjunkie absolutely. Let’s go Brandon!!!!!
America's back, thank you, Brandon!!! @timzello3948
Me watching because I can't kill bears on Way of the hunter hahaha

Thanks for that, appreciate the input!
Joe Biden 😂🤣👌
biden ROFL
Real hunters don't shoot bears off of garbage cans, the spot and stalk.
Really appreciate the comment and view.
