- rAndom International's Rain Room exhibition at MoMA as part of MoMA PS1's EXPO 1: New York allows visitors to navigate through rain without ever getting wet. Each individual's movement within the installation affects rain patterns, carving a cocoon of dryness and allowing visitors to stay dry amidst downpour.

Looking forward to 'The Fire Project'
But yet frustrated thinking about "The Money Project".
wonder what it would look like if someone danced there.....beautiful, i bet.
Nova NVA watch To The Bone...
This is something that I've dreamed of time and time again. Of course I would be alone with my thoughts, but that wouldn't be fair to the thousands of other dreamers who want the experience.
If I was rich, this would be integrated into my secret lair
Invite me to your batcave one day, i wanna check out some of those great inventions.
The Creators Project is something that everyone in the art or creating field should be aware of. They are at the vanguard of deciphering the language of the realm of the senses. Nothing like this existed before, thank you to all of those who bring this to us.Yo2beo
I have been at the Rain Room in London in 2013 and it was a great experience. It would look beautiful if you dance, however if you move too fast you CAN actually get wet :)
U
H
Cause sensors can't react so fast, but they advice people to move in normal speed in the room.
I'd love to feel this project !!
the .1% of my generation that actually got to make and be apart of something that was genuinely awesome. great job (actually serious) - you got to do something most of us always wanted to do but never will come close to. create something great.
I'd like to see the reverse version ... where it ONLY rains where you are standing!
That's fucking amazing. It's super cool because the rain or wetness wouldn't compromise your vision, as it naturally would if you were outside. The rain kind of looks like static.
I've heard of this before and I want to experience it so badly!
This should be open to the public if it isn't already i feel like this would be an amazing experience
If any1 is from LA the lacma has had this exhibit the whole month of November 2015 witch is great seeing as we don't get any rain here in Los Angeles
I'm going to New York next year for my school. I hope the Rain Room will still be there.
That's simply amazing.
I gotta say this is still really awesome,
it is amazing and wordless.
I need this in my bedroom surrounding my bed. Never have problems sleeping again...
I want this. I want this sooooooo badly.
This would be cool for a model runway idea :)
This is amazing
awesome! i wish i can install it in my house
Interesting installation!
Awesome!
i feel like this would be a great form of therapy
so cool!
Great!!!
Education is not only lived throughout educational institutions and books, education is the discipline of learning, lived through experimentation and feeling the environment as the clearly biological creatures we are. If you believe that such a great improvement between the perspective of the environment and the interaction of human isn't affecting the thought of many, then Great! Stay with your school and your blind sense of innovation
lovely
So cool! Wish i could use this for a UA-cam vid.
I bet this would be a great thing to relax in.... sleep in...
.:. Phenomenal .:.
Raindrops By George Ray Arruda
I walk between the raindrops
Hearing them fall at my feet
The gray clouds churn above me
shrouding the treetops in swirling mists
I walk between the raindrops
listening to myself breathe
yearning to share the moment
captured by the clouds
I walk between the raindrops
solitude and mists
I walk between the raindrops
I walk
as all around me
the raindrops fall
Awesome
music by Max Richter~ wanna experience it in London!
My dream, hope I can experience it once
nice!
I want to go there!!!
that would be very cool
Goood project 👍👍
So this piece seems to be doubly impossible. It's raining indoors, but even though it's raining heavily, you don't get wet.
Could you please exhibit one in Hong Kong? It would be very popular!
great for plays
Nice
Omg i did this the other day!!! I was walking down the street and it started raining.. so i took out an umbrella.
harrrp!!
ศิลปะคือการให้ ขอบคุณนะคับ สายฝนโอบล้อมเรา
Lightning a bit of distant thunder would've been cool too. Pretty cool idea though.
Omgg i want to experience that! It would be a life changing reality: )
Would really like to hear how people felt that had this experience....

Future of sound evolution?
wow, rain. amazing. never seen this before. what's next?
fire
Anyone know the track that starts around 2:18?
Can you RUN thru it? Cos I would try that first...
lmao I know you commented this 3 years ago but when I was in it, my friends and I (being kids) tried to "trick" the system and we got pretty soaked after half an hour; it was still a great experience tho haha
if you rain in the rain you think you would get less wet than walking but you don't! What if you rain in the rain room? Can it keep up?
what if I run through it, would the cameras or sensors be able to track me fast enough to prevent the raindrops from hitting me?
+getatme625D Someone said no.
+Elin Ami a girl has no opinion
User 1) If by girl, you mean me, well, that wasn't my answer, it was someone else's - I'm just reporting what they said, and you don't know if they were a girl or not. So joke's on you.
2) If I was the one who answered no to your question, then by your reply, you'd be considered sexist, you rude potato.
Not a problem of the tracking, but rather that you just can't stop the already falling water.
I would like to experience it !
So this is a project of the Museum of Modern Arts?
Who's here from to the bone
Ugly Jerk I am
Ugly Jerk iiiii aaaaammm
Ugly Jerk i am.. the rain scene was amazing. i had to see this.
I wonder if it would still sense you if you lay down.
Can someone please tell me the background music? and don't "Darude -Sandstorm" me haha cheers! :)
Sarude-Dandstorm
+dinmamma138 epic response
That's not the point. You can hear the rain hitting the umbrella. However this piece interacts with you and not an umbrella. It's kind of like simulating a paradox the rain should be hitting you but it isn't there is nothing above you that is stopping it from hitting you it just isn't.
The rain might look like static because the camera might not be recording it clearly. In real life, it probably does not look like static.
learn to accept that people have a free mind and make decisions on their own.
except maybe hard to see the designs?
You're probably right
Actually it already was... For a McQueen show! ;)
Rain Room percieve how Zero-Time works

You know, I wish that there was some way that I could be outside playing basketball in the rain and not get wet. Now wouldn't that be great? Huh?
"i wish there was some way i could play basketball.. in the rain ..and not get wet, now wouldn't that be great?!?!?!?"
Its like a very expensive umbrella. lol
people waiting for 4 to 8 hrs to experience this but it is not worth it.
Just use a brolly like every bugger else.
pewdiepie birdabo anyone?
yo!
Should have been more careful! Darwin award!
did anybody try inverting this? :D
oooooooo
Am I still subbed to this?
That's not rain. That's just an ineffective shower
What if I like getting wet? :D
this is what i call over engineering. they could have just given the spectators umbrellas.
Who cares about them? The art is of more value than they could ever be.
slip- Oh, broken neck
for the ones who are just too lazy to open up an Umbrella.
its okay - Now just reverse this - have the water get sucked upwards instead of raining downwards and apply the same sensor tech so ppl don't get wet. Put in color morphing LED lights on every spout so every upward drop looks colorful...now THAT is something I wanna see and make happen...
ITS GUN CELEBRATION!!! IT'S ART!! NOT ANTI ANYTHING!! A REIMAGINING CELEBRATION!!:)
she can not because it is already publicly known
Unobrow
It is a bit naive to assume that this needs without a doubt thousands of gallons of water, I doubt that assumption. Besides, I don't think these 'water wars' will start soon, most of the earth is still covered in water and that is not going to change quickly I guess. They don't need drinkable water for this, so the water will not be that expensive.
Unibrow club
You don't have to be wet to wash your soul. Isn't that the idea?......
How much did this cost which countries tax payers? I'm guessing not cheap, all these things almost always exploit tax payers, either through institutes, grants, subsidies, etc. it's always us that foots the bill never the artists or the art schools or installments themselves.
You don t get wet.. because that's not rain
2deep4me
Tseng, so are you saying every aspect of social creativity ends to assist countries led by dictators? We need to tackle the cause. Why are you supporting UA-cam? Where do you draw the line?
as deep as my hole
10 people got wet
that is absolutely irrelevant
this destroys the fun part of the whole experience, people are boring!
