Absolutely, one of the many reason why i like Berserk 1997 that much, and why i like it more than the movies. Having a good OST is essential. And obviously the visuals are 10/10 too

I bet he was happy" ~ Guts We never got to see the genius ending Miura had in his mind but as they say sometimes a journey is much fun than the destination. Miura gifted us the masterpiece called 'Berserk', the characters, the genius plot, the deep quotes and thoughts this series had has inspired many other masterpieces. Rest in Peace Miura we will struggle until the very end. Also thank you Susumu Hirasawa for these magnificent soundtracks, they feel like something beyond this world, they give a vibe that is totally different yet so calming. Berserk is an experience i will never forget.
tbh mate, i dont really believe Miura had a specific ending to Berserk. Maybe thats why he was taking it so slow, he didn't want to do anything hastily and make no compromises. This of course doesnt mean that we will surely never see the ending he would eventually picture in his head. I'm really torn between wanting to see the manga continued, even without him but also being afraid of his team messing up his legacy...
his team was told the plot he has in mind. sure it won't be the exact thing he wanted but his vision will come true. he trusted his team and we should put our faith in them.
Berserk is such a series that I can't think of any other series that starts with such a calm and realistic world and becomes harsh and brutal at the end. I am grateful for this Miura. Rest in Peace

Berserk not only told me that life is not always a bed of roses but also a battlefield to struggle for your survival. It told me to struggle against all odds, it taught me how to be tolerant, it even made me mentally strong, it told me even in the worst circumstances there is hope, there is light until you have the will to fight. Thank you Miura, your work inspired many lives and many other great works of fiction. Miura sensei died doing what he wanted no matter what, I bet he was happy.
Berserk (manga and 97’ anime) is one of the biggest masterpieces in human history. It’s on the same level as Dostoyevsky, Nabokov, Balzak and etc. This is art at its finest
What's wild about Berserk 1997 is that despite the shoestring budget that it was made on, it turned out as one of the most beautiful and stylistic anime ever. The watercolor backgrounds, the framing, character designs, and colors create some truly outstanding. Even though they couldn't animate most of the crazy battle scenes that the golden age is known for, there are still so many gorgeous animated moments here. Guts VS Zodd, the Bondfire of Dreams, the 100-man fight, and the Eclipse. A true testament that with the right direction, the budget doesn't matter as much as some might think.
If they ever do, I hope Studio Pablo are attached as Art Direction. Their work on Seraph of the End and Dororo is similar to the style of art OLM Berserk.
I remember that last year you made a video on the beauty of Cowboy Bebop and someone requested to make one for Berserk. A year later, you did. I can only guess how happy that dude must be. Thanks.

Berserk changed my life, I suggest everyone read the manga though as the anime has no where near the same amount of info. Before reading berserk I was extremely depressed and often wondered what I had been put on earth to do. After reading Berserk though and seeing Guts' struggle I developed a whole new attitude and mindset towards life. No matter the situation Guts never gives up, and keeps struggling on and on, no matter what. The story of Berserk, or more rather the character Guts has truly inspired me, to never give up and always fight against fate and what my situation might be instead of using it as an excuse to sink further into despair. Thank you, Guts.

And that unrelenting perseverance is what is needed to overcome the harshness of reality. Never has anyone aspired to be like someone who is broken by the harshness of reality. We are only inspired by those who are strong enough in body and soul to take it head on. We should be like them, be like guts.

1997 Berserk is one of the best animated shows I've ever seen, which just goes to show not only how gorgeous TV animation could look in the 90s. Speaking of the manga, that is without a doubt one of the best works of fiction ever created. Btw, I'd love to see a video dedicated to 'Batman: The Animated Series', because I think that show looks beautiful.

Studio Eclypse is actively working on the best adaptation to date. Everything they've shown thus far has been 10/10. While the '97 anime has a certain charm and aesthetic to it, it will absolutely be out-done.

The old style of animation, the music, it's all so well made and as a person who just a few days ago started watching Berserk has left a lasting memory in me. I've never really heard many people talk about Berserk and once I started watching it It come over to me as a shock about how good it is.

I've been wanting to see Berserk for the longest time, but I'm really afraid... because I just know that I'm never gonna be the same after I watch this and I am really scared of that. I will one day watch this, even if it hurts, even if I get depressed. Too bad Miura isn't here with us. RIP.
The 1997 anime isnt an ideal adaptation. Its really good, but since it tries to adapt the Golden Age in 25 episodes some things get removed and some of them hurt the story. Also the repeated animation and still images can be a problem to someone especially if you're not a fan of older animation. I would recommend you read the manga first since there are no such issues with it and then watch the 97 anime. There is a movie trilogy from 2013 but i would only recommend if you REALLY want to see more berserk content and you want to see berserk in modern animation. And please dont ever watch the 2016/17 anime, its a disservice to the manga in every aspect.
@@darkblaze373 It doesnt have an ending due to the sudden passing of the author-Kentaro Miura, but the last chapter he worked on actually ends on a major reveal/cliffhanger. It answers a lot more questions than it leaves unanswered and it leaves you more than satisfied. How long would it take to read it really depends on how many chapters you would read per day. It has 364 chapters so if you start reading it you can make an estimate.
Easiest way to put it: Berserk is one of the greatest visual stories ever put on paper and on screen (minus 2016 one), Kentaro Miura you are the legend!

Im so glad you chose the 96' original. For all the cut corners (still frames, etc.) it has some truly remarkable scenes (and (arguably) the best soundtrack).

Berserk is so powerful because even with all of the eldritchian horror and raw dread there is in it, all you can remember is that Guts got back up, and struggled, and got out of there ; And all of the beauty of the hope, rage and growth you can develop from even nightmarish situations.
Not gonna lie berserk hits wayyyy too hard like the plot development and the emotions that can be evoked from the imagery/illustrations 😮💨 even tho people talk about the art being a lil dated I think ‘97 art and way it’s portrayed is just amazing
Berserk is a gruesome story with one of the most nightmarish imagery you can find anywhere, theres a soul to berserk that i cant even begin to describe, its something that went beyond the medium of just manga, even though we may never know the full ending of this we can be satisfied with what we already witnessed, We were able to witness a lost soul finding meaning to life, he who had found beauty in the most hellish places, one man who never gave up on life and cut through every hardship, YOU were able to bear witness to one of the greatest stories ever told. RIP Miura, The real struggler.

Un homme est mort sur sa table à dessein pour nous conter ce qu'il avait au fond des tripes, cet homme a passé une vie monastique pour coucher sur du papier les terribles visions d'un noir absolu enfermées dans les plis de son cerveau, je ne penses pas que l'on puisse faire autant de sacrifices si on n'est pas habité par son oeuvre, à l'instar du personnage qu'il a créé, assailli de monstrueuses apparitions. C'est pourquoi Kentaro Miura sera pour moi l'un des plus grands artistes que la Terre ait jamais portée, et l'une de mes plus grandes sources d'inspiration... alors merci pour tous.

Im so glad you chose the 96' original. For all the cut corners (still frames, etc.) it has some truly remarkable scenes (and (arguably) the best soundtrack).

Berserk is so powerful because even with all of the eldritchian horror and raw dread there is in it, all you can remember is that Guts got back up, and struggled, and got out of there ; And all of the beauty of the hope, rage and growth you can develop from even nightmarish situations.

Not gonna lie berserk hits wayyyy too hard like the plot development and the emotions that can be evoked from the imagery/illustrations 😮💨 even tho people talk about the art being a lil dated I think ‘97 art and way it’s portrayed is just amazing

Berserk is beautiful piece of fiction ever created
Berserk is a gruesome story with one of the most nightmarish imagery you can find anywhere, theres a soul to berserk that i cant even begin to describe, its something that went beyond the medium of just manga, even though we may never know the full ending of this we can be satisfied with what we already witnessed, We were able to witness a lost soul finding meaning to life, he who had found beauty in the most hellish places, one man who never gave up on life and cut through every hardship, YOU were able to bear witness to one of the greatest stories ever told.
RIP Miura, The real struggler.
