So this comment is after the new Ideologies update, but i still think before or after it, you should go infantry first and then prioritize tank defense or tanks (depends on how you play)

Not really that much of a difference, early game no one has anti tank so it's better to research both

me personally i research straight until lvl 4 infantry then lvl 4 tank then max both randomly then anti-tank

So I'm a guy played this game for so long and I request you to only research this:
Infantry equipment II, III and IV for Infantry. Because the Infantry armor and the other one are useless they only waste of money and money consuming will get low
And for tanks research tank chassis only
And for anit tank research anti tank I, II and III
So you don't waste your research slots, money and army consuming will get higher.
