Maybe Junior, like a lot of kids, was trying to please his dad. Since his passing maybe Junior is making decisions solely for himself. Good luck to him.

Fair enough, I'd rather this than him getting wrecked for nothing, he's got a life to live. ''The graveyards are full of middling swordsmen. Best not to be a swordsman at all than a middling swordsman.''

Indeed Junior Fa is an absolute Gentleman a real gent at 6’5 250lbs & he was a decent amateur heavyweight & in his professional career at least he can say he went 12 Rounds with a former World Heavyweight Champ in Joseph Parker & gave a good account of himself only lost a close decision in February 2021. The biggest low was getting bombed out by Lucas ‘Big Daddy’ Browne a 6’4 260lbs crude heavy hitter in the very 1st Round &who’s best days are behind him & the 7th Round TKO loss to Frank Sanchez is no real shame Junior Fa good technical boxer who didn’t pack much power but a decent stylist all the same so good luck to him a good guy.

He's doing the right thing. It's very bizarre to live a professional life that way. go to work and find ways to hurt people. In amateur boxing he can see it differently where 'tag' is far more the objective (at least, it has been) and maybe early pro where fights can get stopped sooner and so on until you start seeing what happens to Lucas Browne, Makmudov, Fa at a level where they are taking life-threatening shots, they are so evenly matched that nobody goes quickly and both get brutally hammered.

Honestly, if Junior hadn't suffered severe knockouts in his last two fights, he might have continued. But the talk about not wanting to train to hurt someone and avoiding violence would have been more credible if he had quit after a win or if he had injured someone. However, he made the right call to retire due to health concerns. Further blows to the head would have been extremely risky, given the toll his last two fights took on him. Retiring is a wise decision for him to prioritize his health and well being, and there's no shame in that.

Tbh I think the real reason he quit boxing is because he realises he doesn't have what it takes to fight at a high level. The money wasn't worth the playoff and the risk and reward just wasn't there... Maybe I'm wrong but even if I'm right, there's nothing to be ashamed of. Anyone who trains and gets in the ring deserves the upmost respect.

I don't totally buy this reasoning. He's probably concerned with himself getting hurt, but is likely too prideful to be honest. It's just interesting that he would say he doesn't want to hurt people after he lost by stoppage in his last fight, and his next fight was gonna be against a heavy puncher who would've likely stopped him. If Fa were undefeated would he be leaving the sport? I doubt it.
